Michelin star restaurant in Quebec City! Came here for breakfast with my boyfriend on our last day of the trip. We arrived around 8 am right when they opened, and it wasn't busy at all. The interior has a nice, cozy vibe, and our server was super friendly and checked on us often. I was really surprised by how affordable it is here, especially compared to US prices. I got the Chicken & Waffles with white BBQ sauce and herb-infused honey, 10/10! The chicken was juicy, crispy, and perfectly cooked. The sauce and honey paired so well together. It was about $21 CAD ($15 USD). My boyfriend ordered the Sea Urchin Scrambled Eggs topped with caviar and chives and whipped cheese on an English muffin. It was super filling, flavorful, and only $18 CAD ($12.90 USD). The mimosa was decent. Overall, the quality of the food was superb, especially for a Michelin-star restaurant at such reasonable prices!

Beautiful breakfast in Quebec! My all time favorite breakfast dish is eggs Benedict so I was very excited to try at a Michelin rated restaurant. The dish was not quite what I expected, the hollandaise was made with carrot , the eggs were poached perfectly, the bread was very soft. There was really no flavor to the dish , every item on the plate had a subtle carrot flavor. My husband enjoyed his waffle, eggs and potatoes. Server was amazing, full of energy and very attentive. This is a beautiful restaurant with many delicious options on the menu.

Inventive food with unexpected flavour combinations that somehow work. Super nice waiter who knew the menu and gave suggestions. We ordered 3 starters and a main to share: the bison tartare, fried oyster, beet salad and the catch of the day. The catch of the day was the favourite but everything was good. The tartare wasn't just meet and yolk but also had enoki mushrooms and broccoli. The fried oysters had blue cheese and pickles and the beets were on top of a smoked eggplant puree. Lots of different textures to the dishes. There's a good wine list but a limited selection of wine by the glass. I had the Syrah

After reading the reviews..... I knew we had to try this restaurant. We started off with a homemade sparkling lemonade and a French 75. Both drinks were wonderful. We chose the pressed octopus for an appetizer. The server described it as an octopus carpaccio. This was in my opinion the best dish we had. For our main dishes we had Coquille Saint-Jacques and the minute steak. Both of these dishes were exquisite but I'll be dreaming of that octopus. Or server was absolutely fantastic. She was friendly and attentive and everything you could want in good service. The vibe of the restaurant was really cool with lots of fresh flowers. This place was Michelin noteworthy and in no time I know they will get a star.

Homemade bread: just bread. But warm and soft Rosti squash appetizer: really like this one! Crispy fried veggie ball with yellow squash on top, with refreshing dressing. Have to try! Roasted Cornish chicken: really tender chicken with creamy sauce. Side with crispy and juicy mushroom. Pork loin: tender meat but it's so hard to chew. Need to cook longer to break the fiber a bit more. Huge portion though 1001 fall leaves: so poetic and in season: with cute fried leave, this is probably the most popular dessert. Flavor's pretty good. Creamy Orange flavor with crispy shell

The best value restaurant in Quebec City! We had 3 items for only $30! And were both full! We actually didn't finish it! Amazing! Service was fast! We forgot our bag there and they also kept it safe until our return. Ambiance was excellent. Open windows on a hot day, nice clean bathroom and tables adequately spaced out! I recommend here for high quality ingredients on a tight budget!

Wow it earned that Michelin list. Incredible food. Had the pork loin which I'd come back for again and again. Would recommend getting a reservation as place filled up fast.

Walked past Le Hobbit and walked in based on the name alone. Cute little spot with 2 different spots to eat. Server was kind and spoke multiple languages. Gave great recommendations for coffee and food. Food itself was good. Overall, if you are looking for a good spot for coffee and breakfast, you will not be disappointed.

    Asparagus with Tomato Coulis

Le Hobbit has in the kitchen an ambitious and creative chef, no doubt, but also one whose tastes don't align with mine. Dishes sampled were either far too much or far too blah. While I liked the restaurant's ambiance, I just couldn't get past what was landing on my table. A shared starter dish featured asparagus topped with a huge heap of tomato coulis. The volume of coulis was impossible to escape and that proved unfortunate as I found the texture downright revolting. You may feel differently. An abundant serving of crisp potatoes was up next and topped with attractive, wispy cheese shavings. The potatoes were seasoned but, unfortunately, a bit oversized and terribly one-note. They could've benefited by inclusion of onions and bell peppers but no, they were just potatoes and I grew tired of them long before the bowl was finished off. Finally, a busy salad featuring Mussels was plated nicely but full of a mix of flavors that I didn't find enjoyable. By this point in both the meal and this review it's blatantly apparent that the chef's tastes stray far from my own. In a nutshell, there wasn't anything I ate here that I'd order again. Le Hobbit has an upscale, charming ambiance but the attraction of the food - all of it - fully escaped me.

Trout collar, yeast garum bbq sauce, shrimp sour cream, fresh and fried onions

We made a reservation, but it didn't seem like we needed to. The restaurant had a lot of tables available when we arrived. We ordered fresh oysters and salmon tartare as appetizers. The oysters were probably the highlight, but some did have fragments of shell. The tartare was also good, although I didn't care for the abundant turnips. As an entree, we had the trout collar. The trout was good, and I liked the fried onions on top. I didn't like the pickled fiddlehead ferns on the side. I felt like the dish was doing too much. It was also a small entree. Aside from the food, what got me upset was the wait time. After ordering, the oysters took 20 minutes to be brought out. The salmon tartare took another 20 minutes. The fish came 45 minutes after the tartare. The waitress did apologize and stated that there was some problem in the kitchen. In all we were here for about 2 hours! I was still hungry, but I didn't want to spend more time there.

A Delicious Lunch in the Heart of Old Québec…read more We stopped into Lapin Sauté for lunch following a wonderful walking tour of Old Québec, and it proved to be the perfect place to relax and enjoy a memorable meal. Both of us opted for the table d'hôte menu, which included an appetizer, main course, dessert, and tea or coffee. We happily paid the small supplement to begin with the Duck Foie Gras served with strawberry-rhubarb jam and brioche--a decision we did not regret for a second. The foie gras was rich and silky, while the sweet-tart jam provided a beautiful contrast. For our entrées, I chose the Pulled Rabbit Poutine with devil's sauce. Comfort food elevated to another level, it was hearty, flavorful, and utterly satisfying. My dining partner selected the Cassoulet with duck sausage and duck leg confit. While the duck was excellent, it was the beans that stole the show--perfectly cooked, deeply flavored, and exactly what a great cassoulet should be. We finished with desserts: a traditional Far Breton for me and a beautifully executed Crème Brûlée for my dining partner. Both were wonderful endings to an already excellent meal. The service was warm and attentive, the ambiance charming and inviting, and the food delicious from beginning to end. Located in the heart of Old Québec, Lapin Sauté is exactly the kind of restaurant travelers hope to discover--authentic, welcoming, and serving food that leaves a lasting impression. Highly recommended, and we would gladly return on our next visit to Québec City.

We started with Limbo Yuzu and lime Montellier, light, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. Sharing the riz d'agneau set the tone for the evening. It was rich, comforting, and absolutely unforgettable. For the mains, my fiancé chose the conkie filet de bœuf, and I had the fruits de mer. Both dishes were exquisite. The filet was tender and deeply flavorful, while the seafood plate felt elegant, fresh, and beautifully composed. Every bite told was perfect. Dessert was the perfect finale. The brownie with chantilly was indulgent and satisfying, and the crème brûlée was silky, delicate, and flawlessly caramelized. Truly, every single bite was amazing. What made the experience even more meaningful was the staff. They were incredibly attentive, kind, and genuinely passionate, taking the time to explain the menu thoughtfully in both French and English. We were underdressed, but the host basically was like "the dress code is only for the waitstaff, you are fine." So the place is definitely welcoming and had a nice vibe. Most of the tables spoke French but there was one other larger group also composed of English speakers. Waitstaff was fully bilingual though the vibe of the place is more Francophone than Quebec tourist. The food is cooked technically very well, though the portions are small, particularly our scallop appetizer which was maybe 2 scallops. The food was very good, but for the price it wasn't amazing, amazing. My wife said her trout for example was a bith mushy. I had the beef and it was very good. I'd happily it that and the scallop dish (maybe I'd order two, lol) again. Cocktails were also very good. Then there was the pre-dinner mackrel rolled in seaweed. Totally fine but an odd choice to give to all the diners. Also, the bread was only so-so (I got a better loaf tonight at Farm Boy) and the pepper butter and fois-gras butter were sort of tasteless. Again this is a solid restaurant and despite being 'fancy' had a very unpretentious vibe about it, which I appreciated. But the price feels a bit high, and the service was quite slow. So for me, it is a 4, but except for a restaurant I ate with friends in Montreal in 2018 (the name of which I am forgetting) and a really excellent spot on Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine, the it is probably the best restaurant I've eaten at in Quebec.
