Scrolling through her Instagram, I am continually wowed by her work. On our wedding day, she delivered with arrangements that looked just as stunning in person as on her social media. From our first meeting to the brunch the day after our wedding, she was reliable, friendly, and easy to work with. My husband and I had a relatively low budget for what we were looking for so we met with a few florists to explore our options. Melissa was the best. She was understanding of our price point and was committed to getting us as close to what we were looking for within our budget as possible. She listened attentively as we described our vision, asked several questions, and showed us examples. A couple days after the meeting, she sent us a quote with a couple of different options, complete with inspiration photos. As the date of the wedding got closer, we were in close communication via email, tweaking things to fit the changes to the wedding plan I'd made since our first meeting. As things changed, Melissa was quick to come up with new ideas and to respond to my emails. On the day of the wedding, Melissa showed up right on time. She delivered the perfectly arranged bridal flowers to the room. One of our money saving plans was to use the same flowers for both the wedding and the reception so Melissa stayed until after the ceremony to move all the flowers the reception room while we were at cocktail hour (she includes complimentary cocktail flowers!). The reception flowers were exactly as I envisioned! Moreover, she had transformed our simple cake into an elegant masterpiece with the complementary cake flowers. At the end of the night, she returned to pick up all the items expect for a few centerpieces we were using the next day for brunch. My experience working with Melissa was more than beautiful flower arrangements. It was professional, understanding service tailored for the unique needs of my wedding and my budget. She coached us through the entire process, bringing up all kinds of details that we just hadn't thought of. She was so thorough, making sure every little thing was the way it should be. She allowed us to relax at our wedding, and the week before and after, which was invaluable. The thing that is a lot different about Dean than other wedding planners I've experienced is that even though she is meticulous and totally on top of everything, she is ALSO laid back! She is fun to be around, and ends up being a charming asset at your event, all the while ensuring that absolutely everything is exactly on schedule. She is really good with all kinds of people, so if you have difficult guests, she will handle it all like magic. She's open to all types of events and weddings and is very creative and fun. Dean has skills in a lot of areas (she's incredible with interior design as well as fashion) so you get a lot more than just a coordinator--you get a creative helper/advisor. I just can't say enough good things about her. If you think wedding coordinators are too much effort or stuffy or weird, Dean's going to blow your mind and probably become your new best friend. I loved that all the flowers were grown locally and didn't have the huge environmental footprint of flowers that are flown in from warmer climates. Because this is a local business, the process for ordering was less formulaic than it is at other florists. Instead of filling out an online form and picking from a few arrangement options, I emailed and talked with Cornelia directly, shared my inspiration pictures, and trusted her team of professionals to do an amazing job (which they absolutely did!). Thoughtful details like having the boutonnieres use magnetic fasteners and having the corsages on beautiful diamantine bracelets that were easy to take on and off made everything seamless.
