When you order the appetizer salmon and get charged double for a plate... that you end up leaving cause its disgusting! #touristrap

Horrible. I should have read the reviews before, but was recomended by a local that worked at one of the tourist companies. Arrived and noticed there was only one waiter working over 20 tables... thats a bad start. Ordered onion soup and salmon tartar (appetizer). Onion Soup was salty, the bread inside was old and stale. The Salmon Tartar was DISGUSTING. I was worries it would cause me food poison so I left the whole thing. This is one place you can skip!

We were in the area since we were visiting Château Versailles. We were looking for a place to grab a quick lunch before heading back. I was glad when I saw they had onion soup since it's one of my favorites. Our waiter was really nice and translated the daily specials for us. My husband had vegetable soup which was the soup of the day. We also got a carafe of their house red which was delicious. We enjoyed our soups and wine.

Repulsive smells that taste like it looks; a vomit patty

Never been to a restaurant that everyone's food inedible. Quiche, pizza, and ratatouille totally disgusting. Service wasn't just bad it was unsanitary. One waiter was smoking while serving our food, he even sat his cigarette on the same tray next to my food.

The service was excellent. The prices were a little high but the food was incredible. The waiter who attended our table was very polite. The dessert was delicious. It was a great relief from all of our walking to see this beautiful little restaurant in our mist. Overall outstanding experience.

Small steak dinner with salad and a wine.

I spent the day in Paris and took the train back to Versailles. I was starved and tired of paying Paris prices so once off the train I wandered down the street a bit. I almost missed this place, from the street it is "hiding" behind the Information Station behind the bus stop. I sat down alone at a small table outside and a waiter was there in a minute or two to give me a menu and take my order for a glass of wine. I tried the Puilly Fume, it was very nice. Not too dry. The menu was translated into English too. I passed on the lovely cheese plate and decided on the smaller steak dinner, steak with salad or fries for about 15 euros. Not bad. I like my steaks medium rare and have learned that in this region (maybe all of France, I don't know) that if I want the steak medium rare I have to order it medium. So I ordered it medium and it come out seared on both sides and perfectly medium rare on the inside! They did not offer me a salad dressing choice but the house dressing fit the greens very well. It was lemony, a bit tart, salty, and paired with the steak.... Was awesome! The service was good and the waiter was patient with my English and the few French words I learned this week. I will be back tomorrow for lunch on my last day in Versailles.

Was served inedible frozen pizza that tasted worse than it looked.

The service was awful, and the food was somehow worse. We got the pizza and Ratatouille and it was absolutely disgusting, we at one bite and felt sick. The pizza was clearly frozen and the ratatouille stank and was vomit inducing. It was so bad that no one ate any of their food, yet the servers were so rude and would not take the meals off our bill despite the fact that everyone still had a full plate. Servers were smoking while serving food, despite the cute ambiance it is truly the most repulsive food I have ever eaten. If I could give it zero stars I would.

Tres Bonne!! Le Lyautey is right by the the Versaille train station. It's perfectly positioned on a corner that provides the best ambiance outside of the Chateau Versailles. The service is excellent and food is wonderful. Jumping to desert immediately the creme brulee was hands down the best I've ever had around the world. Using pure vanilla beans the consistency of the creme brulee was so perfect in every way and the hard shell wasn't burnt but hard enough to make a crack. Back to the wine, appetizer, bread, and main plate. The wine list doesn't have anything that most would recognize but the selection is diverse. The escargo was phenomenal and again the best I've ever had in France. The la moutarde again was the best I've ever had. It's not your typical la moutarde (mustard). It was just perfect with frites and pain francais. The main plates were amazing with the salmon tartar, flank steak, and the french adnoulle sausage. Le Lyautey is a must stop when visiting Versailles, great pricing and most importantly unforgettable experience and service.

Goat cheese with honey and sesame seeds on toast

We had the butternut squash soup that was exquisite! Later I had the goat cheese with honey and sesame seeds that was so creamy and satisfying. I would definitely come back here next time I am in Versailles. The waiter was also the best, very humorous and great personality. They were very accommodating with both drinks that were not part of there menu. Really enjoyed this restaurant!

We enjoyed the restaurant's ambiance and the restaurant staff was accommodating considering our French was a bit lacking in communication. We enjoyed some delicious fois gras to start with bread. That was the highlight of the night. I ordered the duck and I've had better. My husband ordered the leg of lamb and he thought the plating presentation and taste was subpar. Overall, we were a bit underwhelmed with this place. Not sure I would recommend going here if you are in town.

They had a crowd of regulars come in so it was good to know locals liked this place too. As is the case with many French restaurants, they close after lunch and reopen at 7pm. FOOD: Loved the hot goat cheese salad (not a salad as Americans usually define it but more of an appetizer on a bed of salad). Also the potatoes and chocolate mousse were incredible. Unfortunately the leg of lamb and steak were under seasoned but it was still a wonderful experience. SERVICE: Exceptional which is why the four star rating. I would definitely recommend coming here if for nothing else the friendly atmosphere and helpful service. COST: Reasonable considering everything. About $35 person for a very nice sized meal. And of course the wonderful service!
