    We stepped right into Parisian history when we stepped into this beautiful restaurant. It was incredible to see the place that has inspired so many famous artworks. I had onion soup and mussels which were amazing. They are tiny mussels and there were probably 100 in there. Didn't even finish half. The portions are very big. Our waiter Yann was so warm and welcoming. His service was phenomenal and really made Our experience that much better!

    I had the deep fried prawns with sweet chili sauce as my starter and the Duck Confit as my entree. Both were absolutely delicious. The duck was not greasy at all and the skin was cooked great. We had the best server. He was so nice and made my mom's birthday dinner special.

    Good service! Delish food, worth it! It wasn't crowded before noonish on a Monday. After walking around the basilica, make your way down and you won't miss the outside windmill of the resto. Thanks to my sister for the treat and showing us around Paris as always!

    Very Frenchie in the heart of montmartre. It has a windmill and outdoor seating out of a postcard, Any questions? Besides Ala carte they have a pre- fix menu. $39 for appetizer, entree and dessert, $31 without the appetizer. The ones we like were the: onion soup, foei gras, duck confit and steak au poivre(chef suggested- not on the menu). The lamb was ok. You can skip the coq au vin. For dessert we had crème brûlée and crepe suzette both excellent. Why 4 stars? Food was good not great(foei gras was excellent though) service was a little rushed.

    I had dinner here and it was pretty underwhelming. I started with the fried shrimp which I didn't realize was just shrimp tempura. It was too salty and too greasy. It was also mostly just breading. The coq au vin wasn't much better. The pasta it came in was overcooked and mushy. The chicken was dry which is strange because it's cooked in a soup. The chocolate mousse was ok but way too sweet and felt powdery on my tongue which made me think it was a packaged, easy to make mousse. I was worried that this restaurant would be gimmicky and a tourist trap because it has a noticeable windmill on top and I was unfortunately right.

    They were very accommodating and found a seat for us right next to the window. We spent a lot of time trying to figure out why so many people were staring in -seemingly at us. Then we realized this was a famous restaurant and on all the tours. Pretty cool to have dined at the same place as so many of the most famous artists in all of history. The food also hit the spot after our long flight from Minnesota. We were trying to push through the jet lag so lots of tea and coffee and some French food really helped. I believe it was the happy hour specials and warm indoor seating that drew us in.

    After walking by this restaurant we really wanted to eat at the same place that was painted in Renoirs painting of the same name. The interior is nice but looks nothing like the painting. It was a pretty good meal, I thought they could have used more seasoning. Nevertheless it was an experience for us as Moulin de la Galette is one of our favourite paintings and we even have a replica of it in our house. We ordered the frog leafs, beef Bourgignon, French onion soup, fish and duck confit dishes. I would say the fish was the best, then French onion soup, duck confit, beef bourgignon and frog legs. Service was pretty good. For those that complained about lack of service, my observation in France has been that lots of patrons like to lounge for long hours at restaurants and cafes so waiters may be leaving customers alone so they don't feel pressured to leave. Whenever I made eye contact or flagged anyone, things moved quickly. Anyways, it was a touristy yet memorable meal for us

    Stunning restaurant close to the Sacré-Cœur basilica in Montmartre. If you're looking for a haven from the crowds at Place du Tertre, you've come to the right spot! The restaurant is beautiful inside, peppered with pothos plants and brush on the ceiling. The foie gras pate was OUT OF THIS WORLD. Super friendly staff who dealt with our poor French!

    Nice little restaurant near Montremartre, it has a famous background as it was in a Renoir painting once upon a time! We didn't have reservation and they told us we just had to be done by 7:30, which was easily done. For appetizer, we had burrata with egg and mushrooms, which was tasty. Nice and earthy. For main, my wife (vegetarian) had the mushroom pasta, which was tasty but a bit repetitive from the appetizer. I had the lamb, which hit the spot perfectly, as I wanted something traditionally French. We didn't get dessert and just had a glass of wine. Service was great and everything was clean. Good spot!

    Absolutely loved the food and unique mix of flavors, as well as the incredibly fun atmosphere! We coincidentally visited during the Rugby World Cup, and most of the guests that day were supporting Ireland's team. Their enthusiasm and singing were contagious and made for a unique dining experience. The woman who welcomed us was rude and initially told us we couldn't dine there because they were full. We verified online and were able to secure a reservation an hour later. She said we were being sneaky (???) for trying to dine with them again, but apologized after we showed her the reservation confirmation. This was so unpleasant that we almost cancelled, but we didn't because we were hungry and already waited a long time. The reason for the high stars is because the food was truly delicious, our waitress was wonderful, and that particular day was very entertaining as the Irish team fans sang and celebrated. (I don't currently follow rugby, but this was entertaining.) A particular highlight was the ceviche, which was interestingly paired with sorbet (!), pickled red onion, paprika, blueberries and raspberry, and other spices. This combination seemed strange, but it was my absolute favorite dish in all of the places we visited in Paris! Truly memorable.

    We were warned not to dine in Montmartre because all of the restaurants are tourist traps. We saw the Michelin Guide approval sticker and it looked fairly classy, so we did not heed our hotel's warning and ate here anyways. A total mistake. The red flags ... a prixe fixe menu, a sign out front giving the history of windmills and every other diner being British or American or Chinese. Also the waiter offered us a menu which had cheeseburgers listed on it when we said that the prixe fixe 3 courses might be too much food. Cheeseburgers and fine French dining usually dont go hand in hand. We sat outside in a fairly tacky patio area complete with multi-colored Christmas lights which had an oddly California type of vibe. The diners were all well dressed, probably because of the prices. The food, we both agreed, tasted like wedding food or casino buffet food. No love went into the preparation or ingredients. The duck a la orange was rubbery and overcooked. It tasted like someone had put in on a BBQ grill and left it too long. (We were told it was served 'rare and pink ... or cooked through'. I opted for cooked through as pink duck is horrifying.) The sauce was bland, watery and contained what looked like canned mandarin orange segments. In addition, it came with a potato cake which was raw in the middle and burned black on the edges. It lacked any sort of taste beyond starchy raw potato. The beef borginone came in its own pot and was basically a chewy cheap cut of meat which tasted like pot roast you had at a friend's house growing up. Again, a watery sauce that in no way resembled fine French cooking. It was more like a stew prepared in a big batch and ladeled out through the night. The chocolate mousse was brought to the table in a giant bowl by the water and scooped out and literally thrown from the spoon onto the plate in messy heaps. It looked like dog poo ... this was among the worst presentations I've ever seen in a restaurant. The strawberry dessert was simply whipped cream, dry strawberries and a small merengue. The waitstaff was friendly enough because clearly they cater to Americans and Brits, so they don't have that typical French attitude towards tourists. But overall, we felt like we were at a wedding and received food prepared in big batches with inexpensive ingredients and doled out vs. made to order. You'd be much better off going to the main street in Montmartre than this place. While the atmosphere was nice, the food quality was subpar for France and I felt if I was at a banquet hall in New Jersey or Kansas, I could have received the same quality. We felt as though we ruined our first night out in Paris by going here.

    First meal in Paris and it was yummy. I was nervous to order a steak because I do not enjoy my meat with blood. While the waitress did look flabbergasted at my request, she did not give me a hard time and the chef cooked it beautifully. Great flavor and tender chew. The fries I could have done without, nothing to be excited about. We then got the crème brûlée and it was nice and creamy with a great crust. Also the ambience is gorgeous!

    Came here for my birthday in Montmartre- a bit touristy but cool enough to not skip over it. Very close to Sacré Cœur and has a gorgeous exterior with the windmill. The bœuf bourguignon was good and I heard good reviews about the fish as well. The set menu is a ton of food! The crème brûlée was sadly burnt on the bottom but the top and the middle tasted good. If you are polite to your server and attempt to communicate in French then you will have good service! Don't expect everyone to speak English and then be rude if they don't.

    Okay, super nice spot on the river. We both had galettes and they were flavorful and quite filling a must in Bayeux, in my opinion.

I understand they are small with a limited number of tables so that's fair and it seemed like everyone showed up even though they don't require a deposit. On a Friday night, it didn't appear there was much chance or walking in although there were like 2 open seats at what would have been a shared table. The menu is small and includes some typical French starters, steaks, 3 non steak entrees, cheeses, and dessert. All steaks come with potatoes, 3 sauces, salad. Service was a highlight. The waiter was personable and funny, had solid recommendations, and made sure leftovers were taken home. Also had a solid wine recommendation after asking some questions. They probably get a lot of people who don't speak French and they had no problem speaking English. The food- ordered a ribeye medium rare. The steak was so so charred on the outside and it almost ruined the whole thing. I really wish they would have charred it way less especially when it was ordered medium rare. There is seared and then there is burnt; this was sadly the latter. The steak itself was fine, honestly nowhere near the best meat I have had but the price is quite reasonable for how much you get. I would say the steak was maybe 6/10 for me, largely due to the cooking. The fries were phenomenal. Definitely a highlight and really tasty and with a great texture. Salad was good, pretty typical. I wanted to like the sauces more but found them just okay. The best by far for me was the blue cheese sauce but even this one I thought the flavors could have popped a little more. Atmosphere was fun, there were a few bigger groups (6-8 which is the biggest they accommodate) but it never got unreasonably loud. Overall I wanted to love it but was a bit disappointed even though the service and fries were both great.

Luckily we walked 6miles that day and skipped lunch. Started with a garden salad, but sadly we had no room for dessert. Reservations via email. We managed to get a 9pm reso, last minute, I bet due to a cancellation. They have 2seatings...6pm & 9pm.

We were so looking forward to the frog legs, onion soup and other delicacies pictured. We got there and the sign was just as it was with the same name -- Au Pied du Sacre Coeur. We should've noticed something was wrong when no one was inside. When the waiter (lone person working along with cook) gave us the menu, my wife and I stared at each other completely confused. The menu looked nothing like the ones on this website and featured Italian food items, like spaghetti, arroz con pollo or mozarella. I asked him about frog legs or the onion soup. He looked confused and just said no. Out of respect for him, we just ordered the charcuterie, which featured stale bread and a few slices of meat taken from my local grocery store in the U.S. Also -- they claimed to not accept any international credit cards. WHAT HAPPENED? Are all these reviews fake? Most likely, they underwent new ownership right when we visited. But new visitors -- please beware. Do not trust any of the reviews before mine. If I was mistaken, please post photos and just tell me that I was part of some elaborate joke to ruin a lunch for me and my wife.

But he was friendly ( oh, and easy on the eyes). I liked the quiet location out of the chaotic fray, like up the street, with all its smoking and volume. PS This is lover's type of location.
