They advertise on their website they are open on Sundays, but they just informed me via a text message they are not. They don't ever answer the phone and only respond thru text message. I informed them they should update their website as this is misleading to the customer. When I told her I was fine with the product I'd purchased she became angry, told me she knew my needs better than I did and it was at her discretion to use a different product with an increased charge. So, I wan't going to write this place up at all, but after my no chip has barely made it a week, I need to. First, the day of my appointment, I was already peeved with this place. I walked in, some woman (Later I happened to catch her name, Maddy), was at the reception desk. She checked me in with a simple, "Kelly, 3:45" then disappeared. I sat in the waiting chairs for TWENTY minutes before any addressed me again. No one came and told me they were behind, thanks for being patient NADA! In search for a new nail place that is closer to home, I got the Groupon for this place. However, the whole process was horrendous. I called four times of four different days until someone finally picked up the phone for me to schedule an appointment. Saying that they can squeeze me in, we concluded on 1pm. Come time of the appointment, it was such a struggle finding the place because there's no clear store front and there's no parking lot - only street parking. I paid my meter for an hour and went inside but was immediately disappointed by how outdated, dilapidated, and borderline unsanitary the place looked. And then they told me that my appointment was at 2pm. There's no way that I scheduled for 2pm because I was assigning my appointment around my working schedule. But they told me to come back later and I told them to just cancel. There was no other customers they were working with. The least they can do is put me in when I arrived but I just ended up wasting my money on parking and experience very poor customer service. There are several other poor reviews here. I visited this place last Saturday. I received a Groupon gift card from my youngest brother for Christmas. I was hesitant, but I booked two pedicures . I had to wait until they had two employees available that day. There is no parking except for meter parking. The place doesn't look like much from the outside. Inside is not any better. It's very old and outdated. When I made the appointment I was told the pedicures were $39.00 and lasted an hour. I thought it was a bit pricey, but I decided to book it. When I got there I was asked to select a nail polish color. When I looked at what they had I got concerned. The nail polishes were separated into two layers which means they are old. I was taken to the back where there only two chairs. My teenage daughter was already being attended to by a blonde nail technician. My technician was still cleaning the stall. They did not have any new equipment and I felt like I was back in 1980 getting a pedicure. The entire service lasted 30 minutes. My technician probably needs glasses because she left nail polish smeared on my toe nails. When I brought it up she added another coat to one of my nails making it look ridiculous. She also left some of the leg scrub on my legs. She didn't clean off the sugary scrub completely. There was only one nail dryer available in the entire place. The nail technician was very rude. She did not even say thank you or uttered a word while taking care of my daughter. She seemed unhappy to be doing the pedicure. My nail tech at least tried to make small talk. I will never go back to this place. Overpriced, rude and I could have done a better job with my left hand ( I am right handed) and with a blind fold. read more

I went in with an open mind having never been there and being a local in the area. I used a groupon for a no-chip manicure. The only reason I did not give it one star is because the employees seem friendly and the lady who did my nails said to come back if anything chips. The actual manicure process was okay, minus the lamp to harden the nails not working well and being portable, it was awkward. Also after they were done my nails looked like a 5 year old did them in terms of there being a lot of polish on my surrounding skin. The woman apologized and said it was new polish she'd never used before. After they were done instead of being shiney they were dull and matte colored (not the intended shine they should have had). Lastly (and the reason for the review, otherwise I would have just kind of shrugged it off) is that their polish stained my nails. I went to my regular no-chip lady who said she'd never seen anything like that in her 15 years working doing nails. Unrelated to nails I asked 3 times about prices for a hair blowout and the nail lady I had said she didn't know and made no effort to find the answer for me or ask another employee/look it up on their menu. This place feels like a second home...it's cozy, the people are sweet and it's my fave place on the northwest side of Chicago to get a facial. Maddy is the sweetest and she really takes her time on your skin and is thorough. The facials are also affordable and won't break the bank (there are Groupons available). Maddy makes me laugh and is pretty much an inspirational guru, not only making my skin feel great but also speaking to my soul. I come here mostly on Saturday morning when I'm off work, and it's the perfect way to start off my Saturday. Plus, I get to stop at The Café at LeFlour afterwards for coffee and a treat which is right around the corner (when I'm feeling really indulgent). Definitely recommend Le Nuvo. read more

My BFFs bday weekend and she - at last minute- decides to get her girls together to this spot. I live in Jefferson Park area & I've not checked out Edison Park before soooo Saturday I show up and it was known that Maddy had agreed with my BFF that she can bring anything to make the place comfy and party-like which I think was GREAT! My other friend set up the nail area with all the snacks and drinks, while the other girls were getting pampered already. I was taken care of right away (even though I got there late with the food / utensils n what have you). My no chip manicure was awesome...my 15min chair massage was meh...I regret not getting naked and receive a full Body hahaha!!! :D. The lady that took care of me (Jia- manicure) was very nice, took her time, kept my nails clean and made sure all nails were perfect. The ambience was comfortable. Not a lot of people, but hey it was a perfect afternoon/mid-evening. We were a total of 7. 3 of us in front getting our manis/pedis and eating Grub :) and the others in the back (microdermabrasions and massages). We were all chatting it up even with the front desk girl (grrrr!! Didn't get her name). All in all, we had a good time. Event began at 3pm and we all left there by 7:30pm. We all felt so relaxed, perfectly pampered, at ease, just GOOD!, that we chatted it up with Maddy, & Eva as well. Props to Maddy! She not once rushed us to leave, we felt so WELCOME there that even one of my BFFs guest set up an appt for August with another group of girls. Ladies (& gents) this place is one of a kind for the area it is in. It's honestly a very cute neighborhood and clean and cozy. I started coming here when I bought a Groupon just to try it out. The place is kind of small, and it kind of has a smell to it. Mainly an older age clients every time that I have went here. Two out of the three appointments that I had with the salon there was a cancellation or re-appointment, because Maddy either goofed up the appointment or was running late. LOVE this place!! I've been getting services with Maddie for many years. She is simply the best! I would never go anywhere else for a spray tan, microderm, chemical peel or wax! The salon is super cute !!! My review is for airbrush tanning, definitely love Madeline! She's awesome, experienced in spraying, but will also listen to any suggestions. She definitely has regulars, so she must be good at what she does! A few suggestions for a great spray tan... Shower prior to your appointment, skin should be free of lotions, deodorant and perfumes. I usually get sprayed at night so I can allow it to dry as I sleep. I wake up and take a quick shower and have a beautiful glowing spray... I don't get my feet sprayed, since it's too strong and my feet tend to suck in the color... Just a bit too much... read more

I currently live downtown Chicago but I drive 40 minutes just to go to this salon, and the drive is ALWAYS worth it. Maddy does an excellent job, especially when it comes to waxing. I normally am a complete baby when it comes to bikini waxes, but Maddy is a miracle worker. Compared to my other waxing experiences, this place is a breeze. I highly recommend her salon to anyone!! I have never been a person that is loyal to one salon/spa or another. I typically schedule appointments on a whim and at a place closest to wherever I am that day; however, Maddy's AWESOME work has made me a loyal customer. I used to live nearby, and have since moved, but will always make the drive over Maddy puts a lot of care and attention to all of the services that she provides - absolutely no cutting corners. On top of it, Maddy is just a really nice person and it's a pleasure chatting with her while she's working. This is NOT a pretentious spa. Since they've opened, Le NuVo has had special each month, and there's also a discount you can get on some services if you 'like' them on facebook. I found out about this place through Groupon for their no chip manicure with hand exfoliation. I noticed that they did not carry the brands I usually use which were Gelish and OPI. One thing about my nails is that it doesn't hold gel polish very well. It usually last 2 weeks, but I absolutely hate removing it because it tends to leave scratches on my nails. The brand this place uses doesn't stay on as long, but it isn't damaging at all. It comes off smoothly and leaves no scratches. Honestly, I do prefer that because I don't have to wait for my nails to get better before I use a different color. The most exciting part of my visit was finding out that the owner, Maddy, does facial treatments. I have been doing chemical peels and facials at other places, so I decided to give this place a chance. I got microdermabrasion and a small facial. My skin feels amazing!! I noticed how much brighter my skin tone was. I have dark acne scars and one treatment has made a difference. I am definitely coming back for the treatments. Prices are affordable and she was very attentive! She explained everything to me which was comforting. I definitely recommend Maddy for any facial concerns. read more

really pushy on Microdermabrasion. I went for a facial and thought it was fine, but I've also never had one. I referred my friends, who have gotten them before and were really disappointment by the experience. They showed up on time for the appointment and the person scheduled to do their facials (the owner) wasn't even in the shop for another 20 minutes. Then when she did show up she chatted with other employees before getting started. They also said she did not change the sheet in between their appointments. Both of my friends basically said all she did was put 3 different creams on their faces and left. Microdermabrasion was recommended for all 3 of us, and were all 23-25 years old. Not saying it would hurt, but we all came for a facial and were told we needed more than that. I really don't appreciate when businesses try to push other services on you. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I purchased a Groupon and I really regret it. Pina "styled" my hair and I have never been more disappointed with a service. She used a straightener to curl my hair-- didn't question it, as I wanted to respect her "expertise." I told her I wanted loose, bouncy curls and I ended up looking like Sandy from Grease. It took every ounce of strength I had in me to hold back my tears when she was finished. I went home, brushed out everything she did and re-curled my hair for my event. Maddy does a phenomenal air brush service that I would highly recommend to anyone. I was always iffy about spray tans, but Maddy takes her time and always does a perfect job with no streaks. I also would recommend going to Anastasia for a relaxing manicure. Every other Friday I get a manicure, and then a polish change the following week. I have been coming to the salon for about 4 months now. Let me tell you, the ladies in here are some of the most talented you will meet in the area. They take such pride in their work that they do with every client. I have received treatments like microdermabrasion from Maddy (she really knows her stuff) manicures by Anastasia as well as Lucie, sometimes it's hard to pick between them because they both are so good! Lol. Jina does amazing pedicures as well as her new almond hand scrub (perfect for those not so good looking hands from this horrible winter). They have tons of specials each month and some may think the prices are a little high, but you get what you pay for right? Every penny is worth it at Le Nuvo! I recommend this salon to all my friends and family. Lastly, my most recent service was a haircut by Nikki, she's new to the salon. I haven't cut my hair in about 2 years and I am terrified of being in a stylists chair because once they see long hair they want to do different styles.... Not her. Le NuVo offers a wide range of services with outstanding quality. The staff is very friendly and takes the time to get to know all of their customers. It was really nice to come in and not have to wait for my appointment. I was very hesitant about getting a wax from there but Maddy made me feel very comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised at how great my air brush tan came out. Maddy was able to select a color that provided a natural looking tan for me. It was not orange or streaky at all. I gave one star only because you need to give one star in order to leave a review. I purchased 2 NO chip manicures- one for my daughter and one for myself. First. The girl had ZERO personality. She didn't try once to say two words to us. Second - I have never had a manicure where they did not soak your hands, All they did was file my nails I questioned why they did not soak my nails for the manicure she said because the nail polish would not stick. Ha! So my nails started chipping around day 8 or 9. My daughters were completely lifting near the cuticle on day 9. I called the salon to see what they would do, they told me they only last 10-14 days, and would I like to make a new appointment to come in. I have had no chips that have lasted 4 weeks - yes there was outgrowth - but the polish stayed on. I do not recommend this salon - you would think with nail salons on every corner and sometimes in-between, people would work harder at trying to keep a client in their salon. Not only does le nuvo need a better technique to do nails, but also some training in customer service. read more
