The crêpes were light, and the profiterole was rich and satisfying. The crème brûlée had a smooth custard and a delicate sugar topping. The kids also enjoyed their milkshakes, which made it a fun and easy stop. This was our last dinner in Paris. Our hotel is by the Louvre so naturally we were avoiding restaurants in this high tourist area. Within a 10 minutes walk, we found Cafe Saint Honore. By this point, I'm done with Foie Gras and Escargots and was craving for an American burger and a nice salad. We also didn't want to go too far because we have to pack our bags. We end up sharing Margharita (Margherita) pizza and Flabian salad with cantaloupe, mozzarella balls and prosciuttos. They were both delicious, especially the salad. I can't say I ever had cantaloupe in the salad but it was sweet and refreshing. The salmon special with pilaf rice and side salad was excellent. I feel like you can't really go wrong with the special of the day or fish of the day. Drinks were great! The martini I had was too pretty too drink. Not enough vodka but I think the champagne shot on the side was cool. We shared a crème brulee because I can't pass an opportunity to have dessert in Paris. The burnt sugar was over burned to the point that you can taste it. Maybe that's the way the French does it. The custard was just okay. The four complimentary macarons made up for it. The decor is really cute with over the top flowers hanging from the ceiling and everywhere. I didn't take any pictures because it was kind of dark. Loud music. Few tables outside. read more

Grabbed a quick bite on my first night in Paris. Open later (after late hours at the Louvre.). Cozy seating; sit inside if you want to dodge the smoking. Had the Coque Madmoiselle which is an ham sandwich with cheese melted/broiled on top is the bread; and a fried/broiled egg on top of it all. It was so good! Came with frites and a small salad. 13euro. Great deal. Also split some wine (Cote du Rhône) which was quite good for the price as well. 18e for 50cl. read more

We came here for a late breakfast. I had the avocado toast without the egg and smoked salmon (to make it vegan), one daughter had the Nutella and strawberry crepe (and the feta cheese from my salad), and one daughter had a vegetarian omelette. The coffee was great (they had soy milk). The country bread for my avocado toast was so good! Service was also good, and the cafe is a charming small place. While visiting Paris last month, we decided to sample the traditional dish, Boef Burginon. Expecting to be pleased, possibly wowed, we were very disappointed. The beef was disgusting; very tough and full of gristle. It was absolutely inedible. I couldn't cut it or chew it. I wonder if it was even beef. When the waiter inquired how we liked our dinner, I showed him the uneaten meat and told him it was terrible. He said he was sorry to hear that but didn't offer to do anything about it, not even a complimentary dessert. Worst meal ever!! read more

The best avocado toast with salmon and egg that I have ever had! Great service and food! Just walked by after parking, had a little extra time before our tour, lucky us!! We had breakfast here nearly every day during our two week stay in Paris. The coffee, food and service were wonderful. The servers learned to bring us café américanos with a little cream after our second visit. We tried several different omelettes and enjoyed them all. We went one mid-afternoon for a snack and had a delicious serving camembert rôti that I will forever miss. It is also a great place to people watch! Food 3 stars and service 5 stars. Everything was pretty good here and the service was great. If you need a casual quick bite with nice servers and ok food I'd say go here. The escargot and bread was the best part and everything else was ok. Nothing special. The sauce that came with the rumpsteak was awesome but the steak itself was small, tough, and definitely rare (bordering on blue rare) and I asked for medium rare. Call me crazy, but I thoroughly enjoyed this little place. In two visits the food, service and ambiance were exactly the flavor of Paris I hoped for. Both occasions excellent service, attention and quality/quantities of food were the order. First visit a cheese and charcuterie plat du jour was more than ample with fresh baguette and a cold Karlsberg to accompany. Second visit a French onion soup my wife would have made for me. Followed by Magret de canard nicely done and well presented. A Vodka to finish the meal was the end to an excellent day wandering the area of the LOUVRE. read more

Close to the Musée du Louvre, and it is open late at night. The prices are moderately high, but it is Paris. My steak was delicious, though it was in small portion. The café is dimly lit, and the server was not very nice. In fact, I found him to be condescending because of my friend's and my poor knowledge of French -- he seemed frustrated and took away my friend's dish before she finished. I hope this was just one bad Parisian experience because Paris is beautiful. read more

We had lunch here. Very friendly to Americans, and everyone else it seemed. The steak and fries were excellent - we tried the ribeye and the sirloin. Both steaks were perfectly prepared and the fries were slightly crunchy and not greasy at all. Drinks were good, and the waiter was kind to recommend a great fry red wine. We popped in on a rainy Monday for lunch and were seated right away. For tourists- this is near the Louvre- the menu is in both English and French. We started with the baked eggs and they were amazing, warm and creamy with chives and mushrooms. The three cheese tagliatelle had just the perfect amount of blue cheese to not overpower the meal and the pasta looked freshly made. But the SERVICE has got to be one of the worst experiences Ive had in any restaurant ever. The girl asked me what I wanted to drink, I said water and she disappeared. No water.After 30 minutes I had to call her and ask her for some water. Girl: you want Evian water or mineral water? me: no, i dont want any of those, just regular water. Girl: what size? (getting irritated) me: No, i just want regular water, just a glass of REGULAR water. Girl: ok. Then she brings me water in an opened plain glass bottle the size of a benadryl bottle. The bill said the water cost 7euros. 7 euros for a I was pretty mad at this point, as even while serving the food she was snotty and rude. Never smile or anything, just dropped our foot, turned on her heel and left. Anyways, I asked her: me: is it general practice here to charge 7 euros for a glass of water? girl: this is bottled water,thats the price of the product.(tries to turn and walk) me: but i asked for REGULAR water, not bottled water. girl:(extremely rudely) when YOU say regular water, I dont understand what u mean,if u wanted TAP or DRAUGHT water, you should say TAP water or DRAUGHT water.(turns and leaves) Very rude, obnoxious and pretentious person.I dont want to use the word racist, but she seemed a totally different person to white people.Alternatively perhaps she didnt like that we came with my 1year old into their "romantic" little cafe (which it was not, as it was bustling and noisy anyways). STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! Like Sajjan said, this is a complete tourist trap. I ordered a beer and tried to order a tap water for my wife but they refused and said they only do bottled water. Fine, she ordered an iced tea which was overly sweetened. Also, my beer was lacking around 80 mL to the fill line - a cheap maneuver by them to extend their keg life and increase my orders. We just wanted a late afternoon bite to eat so we wanted to split the 1/2 chicken. They refused and said we each had to order something at which point I said nevermind, just the drinks are fine - they were quick to make an exception because the place was dead. I wish they wouldn't have made the exception. The chicken didn't have a lot of meat on it and was bone dry, like chewing on chalk. I make chicken often at home and to get the dark meat to that dryness is truly a feat and not one to be proud of. We only sat down at this place partially because of the Yelp reviews and mostly because we were absolutely starving and the intended restaurant we left for happened to be closed. After visiting the Louvre we were wandering around the area looking for a place to eat and happened upon this café. Our waitress was wonderful, very friendly and offered us some suggestions when we were looking at the menu. The menu was your basic café fair for a fairly reasonable price considering it's in a large tourist area. I had one of the sandwiches my friend had a burger, both were good but the real winner was our waitress, who had a wonderful personality and delivered prompt and friendly service. read more

Whatever you do -- DON'T GO HERE. We had an awful experience. I didn't know in France if you don't like something you're served, you must keep it and/or pay for it no matter what. We were served watery ravioli with no taste at all. If I had to describe the taste, it was like paper and water. Supposed to be sage butter sauce....no flavor at all!! To make matters worse, when I told them I would not pay for the item, the waitress kept insisting that I would pay. After a loud argument, I agreed to pay for some of the food and gave her my credit card. She still charged me for the bad food, and after more arguing she said she would call the police. I said fine, she was trying to intimidate me and I wouldn't have it. After waiting for a while for the police, I told her I was leaving and she grabbed my cell phone out of my purse and put it in her pocket. It's a shame the food didn't live up to the ambiance and friendly waiter. I knew we were in trouble when our chicken and duck dishes came out within ten minutes of placing our order. It didn't help that I had line of sight to the kitchen either. It's obvious the chefs here love the microwave. Both the chicken and the duck were bone dry; the duck was well done. It's obvious that both had been completely cooked hours before and simply reheated. The only reason our dishes took 10 minutes to arrive was b/c they had to "cook" the fries (which were quite good). I'd give this place two stars if the price point matched the quality of the food, but as it stands, the food was blah and overpriced. read more
