Chocolat chaud and gaufres! The waffle was nice and light. I ordered mine simply topped with powdered sugar (Nature/Plain). While not necessarily a filling meal - it was nice and warm in my tummy. Warning: this shop is small. There's seating for maybe 15 people.

The Good: :: it's a local business, run by some fantastic people :: the coffee is always on point here. made with TLC and attention, it's a treat to drink while you sit and people-watch the day away or have a chit-chat with the other customers or the staff! :: they also sell non-coffee drinks such as fresh juices, teas, etc :: they serve food and pastries, too. get there early for croissants as those sell out quickly. give the ham and cheese waffles a try, too! quite delicious :: they also do bike tours in Paris, Versailles and Champagne! check out their website on what options they have for you to partake in. :: they also sell some merchandise (eg, wallets, mugs, etc) for you to purchase as gifts for family/friends or even yourself :: indoor and outdoor seating The Bad: :: none The Ugly: :: none Would I go back? Absolutely--I come by here every time I'm in Paris. It's a fantastic, cozy coffeehouse with great people running it, and I'm always happy to give them my business. This place is IN.

Wait- does everyone here speak English?! Pretty much. Depending on how you greet the people behind the counter- they will quickly flip to the language your accent may imply. In just a couple cups of coffee we met 5 American expats, planned a retirement community for artists with the $1 homes for sale in Italy, and discussed VISA issues and solutions. The waffle and coffee were excellent as well- though, ironically, you may need to wait longer for a drip coffee than an Americano.

Friendly baristas prepare coffee in a warm and welcoming space. Though the Marais neighbourhood is no stranger to cute coffee shops, Le Peloton on Rue du Pont Louis Philippe is a welcome addition with its funky tiled floor and cosy corners. Founded in September 2015 by biking enthusiasts Christian Osburn and Paul Barro, who also run the tour company Bike About, the space is decorated with colourful bike-themed illustrations, a shelf bearing beans from Belleville Brûlerie, and bright yellow chairs that you'll recognise easily if you follow all the Parisian Instagrammers in the know. Take a seat at the wooden bar to watch the friendly owners in action or perch on the stools by the window for a great view of the pretty balconies across the street. Our noisette (€3.50) was perfectly balanced, a lovely early morning treat along with a salted caramel doughnut from hip caterer Boneshaker (€4). Le Peloton's menu also offers homemade sweet and savoury waffles, as well as tarts and cookies made by the popular Mokonuts café.

The staff was friendly and they spoke English very well. I ordered the waffles with strawberry jam and a glass of milk. The milk was from Normandy and it had a sweet flavor. I really enjoyed both the waffles and the milk. The cafe also had bikes available to rent!

We…read morehad finished lunch but were looking for some sweets before heading back to the hotel for a breather. I noticed this place was close-by, so off we went. Fou isn't a large space, really only enough for a queue to form and the staff to stand behind the counter. Unlike a traditional pâtisserie, there is no baking done on premises here. Instead, they import bakes from other pâtisseries and pastry chefs and sell them here. They had a good selection, with each having a label that tells where it came from and/or who the pasty chef was that created it. We decided on three pastries and a slice of cake - they were running a special where if we ordered three bakes then we could get a fourth for a discount. Each of the bakes were quite good - my favorite was the lemon which had great flavor while also being intricately decorated. Overall though, all our selections were high quality. Service was fast and friendly, and overall I had a good experience at Fou de Pâtisserie. It's a great option to get Paris' "greatest hits" from all over the city.

All the gorgeous pastries have signage indicating the maker of the treat. I visited this location as well as the location within the BHV on Rue Rivoli while I was in Paris. They both offered a lovely selection of treats! The caramel brûlée pâte à choux was quite possibly one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life - a sweet caramel cream filling and a crispy brûlée sugar top. I also tried the pistachio tart (salty, not very sweet) , the pear and almond tart (very fresh, not super sweet, and gorgeous), and the chocolate praliné tart (very rich, dark, and indulgent). Overall, this is definitely a patisserie that I will seek out on a future trip to Paris!

Angelina, Paris, France -- April 12…read more Our family of four with kids ages 9 and 10 stopped here for lunch after visiting the Louvre, drawn in by its reputation for having the best hot chocolate in the world. We were looking for a place to relax and refuel, and the experience felt a bit mixed overall. Arrival and First Impressions The space is elegant with classic Parisian charm. The line moved quickly, and we were seated with a great view of the dining room. It felt refined but still comfortable. The Highlights The famous hot chocolate lived up to expectations, thick, rich, and almost more like a dessert than a drink. We also had French onion soup and an éclair, both of which were very good. The pastries were clearly well made and thoughtfully prepared. The kids had chicken tenders, which they enjoyed, even though the tomato sauce was a bit different from what they expected. The Challenges The biggest drawback was the price. The meal felt expensive for what we ordered, coming in at €154 for a fairly simple lunch. Service felt slightly rushed as they moved tables along quickly. Final Thoughts We would likely return if we were nearby and specifically craving the hot chocolate again. It is a classic Paris stop and worth trying once, but the value may not justify going out of your way unless that signature experience is high on your list.

It really tastes like melted chocolate with a bit of milk mixed in to make it more drinkable. We went at a bit of an off time, late morning and it wasn't overly busy. We saw our server once and I couldn't recall who he was when it came time to get the bill. I asked a hostess walking by for our check and she told me to ask our server while walking away. We were able to flag another server down eventually but the whole process just took too long. The tables for four have chairs that don't quite tuck in causing for a bit awkward seating. If you like really thick hot chocolate, give it a try but otherwise ok to miss this one. Plenty of good hot chocolate throughout the city.
