Let's make pizza fun! We are here as part of our tour in Rome. It is a few blocks from the colosseum located underground in a retired train station. The atmosphere is festive. Servers are dressed in traditional garb and break out into song every 15-20 min. They're mainly known for their pizza which was delicious. I probably had 4-5 large slices. As a special tribute, two servers sang a romantic opera song to us and gave us a slice of cake as we were celebrating our delayed honeymoon. Simply an awesome experience in an amazing city. We visited here as part of our Trafalgar Tours itinerary after touring the Colosseum. The food was surprisingly good for a tourist-focused restaurant. Think Olive Garden, but better executed. We had the standard four-course tourist menu, and the cheese ravioli with Alfredo sauce was the standout for me. The rigatoni was also quite good, and the staff made sure the wine and water bottles stayed full. I had to add the picture of the Ikea light that reminded me of an exploding Death Star...yah I'm a nerd!!! Where the experience fell apart was the "show" portion of the dinner. While the performers were talented, it felt overly touristy and distracting from the meal and conversation. What truly ruined the experience, however, was the performers going table to table trying to sell their CDs during dinner. It felt tacky and completely out of place. Having them available for purchase near the exit would have been far more appropriate. That alone dropped this to a two-star experience for me. read more

The female waitress was: - RUDE - A LIAR The food was ok but nothing special. Appears to be a group style restaurant for large parties. Back to the waitress, if you dislike your job, QUIT. If you want to be liar, that is fine and I accept it, however, please don't spend ten minutes trying to walk your behavior back. Terrible service / experience makes destroys any meal. read more

Le Terme del Colosseo - Rome, Italy This was one of the restaurants we visited during our Trafalgar tour while in Rome, and wow, what a memorable experience. It's called Le Terme del Colosseo, and the vibe is something straight out of an underground wine cellar meets Roman catacomb. Exposed brick arches, walls lined with wine bottles, and the coolest ambiance. Definitely not your average dinner setting. Right off the bat, the energy in this place was so fun. You walk in and it's buzzing with laughter, the clinking of wine glasses, and yes, live opera singing. Yes, operatically. And it works. It completely elevated the experience. It was lively, festive, and honestly made dinner feel like a show. We came in casual since it was a warm summer day, and the crowd was a mix of families, tour groups, and couples. The dress code is super relaxed, but the space still feels special enough for a celebration. Now let's talk food: We started with plates of green Castelvetrano olives and chunks of aged Parmigiano-Reggiano to snack on. Simple, salty, and totally addictive. Then came some incredible bruschetta, loaded with fresh, juicy chopped tomatoes on toasted rustic bread. So fresh and garlicky. A charcuterie platter followed, stacked with slices of prosciutto, salami, and wedges of hard cheese. Classic Italian antipasti perfection. I had the rigatoni alla carbonara, and it was amazing. Creamy, cheesy, peppery, with little bites of pancetta. It was rich without being heavy and just so satisfying. We also shared a large wood-fired pizza topped with black olives, artichokes, mushrooms, and generous slices of prosciutto crudo. The crust was light and fluffy with just the right amount of crisp on the edges. We had both white and red wine flowing throughout dinner, and the service was wonderful. The staff was friendly and very used to large groups. They made sure everything came out smoothly and kept the good vibes going. This is definitely a spot I'd recommend if you're looking for a fun and authentic Roman dining experience with a unique twist. It's not stuffy or overly fancy, but it feels like an event. If you are looking for the cheesiest, un-authentic "Italian" restaurant, look no further. This place is the WORST. The food is awful and it is a TOURIST TRAP. THIS IS NOT ITALIAN FOOD. We noticed this while waking to our VRBO by the Colosseum. it's down in the basement and there aren't a bunch of signs and pictures of their dishes outside like most of the touristy places to eat in Rome, so we thought we'd give it a go. They cater to large tour groups - there were 1 or 2 in there while we were there for dinner, but it didn't impact our service in any way. They had a couple singers walking around that would occasionally sing a song, so there was some free entertainment as well. :) We ordered some salads, ravioli, and carbonara to try. Our waiter (Antonio) was very helpful with suggestions for different dishes and appetizers, and brought me an extra Lemoncello for desert as well. We had a wonderful pasta dinner in Rome and the price was reasonable given the location (about 50 Euro with tips). read more

We were there on Sunday afternoon, and it was very, very good. We had the caccio e pepe and the carbonara. Both were very good. The location itself is awesome, right in the ruins of the baths. Overall very good. It was perhaps a bit pricier than some of the other restaurants we went to during our stay, but not prohibitively so. We also split the house white wine and enjoyed that a lot too. I would definately recommend this if your in the Colosseo area and looking for a good place for lunch with a different ambience/feel. read more

Terrible customer service. Two nights in a row I reserved a table at the edge for a view and both nights our table was given away even after tipping the staff a lot of money to protect my reservation. They don't care and just have the tables away to whoever came. TERRIBLE costumer service. STAY AWAY. read more

If you are not in a group dont bother- booked months in advance due to the singing experience- we were at a small table for 4 people off to the side and we were nowhere near the singing- had to get up to see the singing! Food mediocre and staff rude-pp as but whats the point if you cant see the show- dont waste your time read more

The decor of this place in the basement has to be my favorite with all the stonework. It was recommended by our colossus tour guide. We came at 2:00pm and the waiter tried to shoo us away as they closed at 3:00pm and the kitchen was cleaning up. With the place being pretty empty, I pressed him, asking him if the kitchen had any food left, he said only lasagne and we gave him the thumbs up. He quickly brought out the lasagne with bread, butter, and some wine. It all tasted really good. We finished with some great tasting espresso and were out of there in an hour. read more

The experience is excellent but the booking can be tricky. We were 2 people, we already booked 5 days before because my dream was to see a OPERA, but the table they reserved for us it was not a good view to the show time opera. The impression that I was feeling is that for the restaurant is more important the groups of people than 2-3 people so only for them will have the best seats. The BOSS is a very friendly person and give to us a table near to kitchen, but i saw many tables where i can see the best view to show empty, when they say that table is reserved. **This review is based on a tour meal Came here after the tour of the Colosseum. There's no reception as it's in the basement. The ambiance and decor is nice as it kind of resembles the colosseum look. The food was not bad until the entree. Started with some meats and bruschetta, then a pasta, which all had excellent flavor. The entree was boiled beef with a salad and severely overcooked green beans. None of the entree had any taste. Dessert was also just a pile of cream with chocolate sauce and like biscuit flakes. We tried this charming place during our time in Rome. We were told this restaurant is actually the built into the remains of a Roman horse stable. The food was good, not great the singing waiters were a huge surprise. Overall it was a good experience. read more

I went to this restaurant as part of a group and no aspect of this experience was redeemable. I am not one to rate a restaurant but I had to say something about this one. We booked a dinner and a show and were seated in an area where we couldn't see any of the show. It was almost like we were seating in their "prop room". We didn't get to see any of the show, which we paid for. At one point an idiot member of our party moved one of the props. I acknowledge that this was inappropriate and absolutely unacceptable on our part, but the reaction we got from the main male singer was absolutely horrendous. He yelled at our entire group, not once but twice, after being encouraged by his coworkers not to. He screamed at all of us in a language we could not speak when many of us did not know what had happened. On top of this poor treatment by the staff, the first course was bland and the second not filling. I do not recommend this place, especially if you plan to go with a group. read more

We ate lunch here at the recommendation of our Colosseum tour guide, Laura. The atmosphere was great, lower level, air conditioned (thank goodness). We arrived just as they were opening and were the first people in the restaurant. The service was mediocre and it almost seemed that we were an imposition. The food was "ok." I had grilled chicken and my family had pasta dishes. There was no seasoning that was recognized by my palate on the chicken. Wait staff was inattentive and offered little follow up. Found this location by chance and we were blown away. $34 euro for a 3 course meal, bottle of wine and a opera style show. Couldn't have asked for anything better to end our evening. Was going to try to eat at this location which was close to where we stayed in Rome. Looks like a wonderful place to eat. Lots of tourist groups go to it. Unfortunately the wait staff shunned us away and told us that there was no more room or openings with more than half of the restaurant tables open.
