Came here to POST for my birthday and wanted to try all the different fries that they had. Let me tell you- there are TONS of options. We ended up picking the "Loaded fries" from here! Ordered the food and didn't wait too long. I got to say, these were the best fries we tasted in the whole food hall! They were super different compared to the others. I especially liked the gravy and crispy chicken on top! It really refreshing to taste these because all the rest of the fries from other places tasted pretty similar. My search for spicy hot chicken continues and this place was not it. I had such high hopes after reading the reviews. My biggest complaint with all these new hot chicken places popping up are the levels of spice and the consistency of the level every time. They had three levels of spice and I almost went for the hottest but the cashier told me I included Carolina reaper so I decided to go in the medium for their "spicy" level for the tender meal. This was NOT spicy at all. I REPEAT NOT spicy at all. Once again, another HOT chicken place in Houston can not figure out their levels of spice. It is not the first time it's happened. The hot fish sandwich sounded interesting, so I decided to try it. The catfish was super moist and tender. It was almost silky in texture. I chose it spicy so the fried fish was dipped in a liquid spicy sauce I guess. It doesn't look that messy to eat, but the spicy sauce is a liquid so it dripped all over the bottom of the bun and takeout box. I usually like fries that have a rough texture like the ones they have here but thought they tasted okay. I was surprised I couldn't substitute the fries that come with the sandwich with something else as the cost of the sides are all the same. Great spot for hot chicken! You simply scan the QR code at the register, place in your order, and you get a text message when it is ready. The food here is very reasonably priced. You can get a huge chicken sandwich with fries for under $15. The sandwiches use crispy toast as the bread. The chicken is very flavorful with the perfect amount of heat. The only downside is you can't fit the whole sandwich with a bite. They also give you a heaping portion of fries that you can't possibly finish. Overall, I had a good experience at this location. This place is inside the food hall in Post HTX. I saw someone walk by with the chicken waffle cone and wanted to try it since it was something I had never seen before. It's basically Mac and cheese with chopped up chicken tenders in a waffle cone. It was both delicious and visually pleasing. The drizzle of sauce it had made it even better. Overall the chicken was not bad, but if you are going to call it "hot chicken," no matter what level of seasoning you get (there was only 3), there should be some sort of spice to it. Shame on us for making the assumption that there would be some level of "kick" with each option. Shame on them for having "hot chicken" that has no seasoning. If you are selling "hot chicken," the baseline should be some level of "hot." The Chicken Sandwich: Overall a decent sandwich. The toppings (kimchi) were flavorful (will get back to this) but came no where close to true hot chicken or any "spin" on hot chicken. The flavor of the chicken breading had a very distinct taste... I thought I was eating chicken dredged through pizza flavored Pringles. Also, the chicken itself could have been of better quality or at least trimmed better. There were pieces of fat that I had to spit out. I will say that I appreciated that they added fries to this meal. Most places nowadays charge $13 for just a sandwich. Plus the fries were pretty good! Hot Wings: Overall good but lacked seasoning. They tasted like homemade basic wings. The first time I sampled their chicken when they opened, I knew that it was game on! These amazing folks are located in The Post and it's worth your time to stop in and get yourself some REAL fried chicken the way we do it here in Houston! I had the jumbo hot tenders and even splurged to get some extra sauce! Does it need sauce? No way, but it gives it that little extra kick that makes that flavor sink in! The comeback sauce is on point and good to give it some extra heat! The garlic sauce adds a nice smooth balance if you just want to smooth that hot flavor out a bit on the tail end of each bite! Food was very fresh & hot but it was missing favor with the chicken thigh. You have option of choosing three different spice levels. Since it was my first time, I went with the one in the middle. If you like spicy, choose the highest level because the middle level wasn't spicy at all. Usually chicken thighs are juicy and tender but this chicken was hard to cut/tear apart & bite into. The kale slaw that was on top of the chicken was the best part! I would recommend getting it in the side so it doesn't soak up the bread too much. The fries were tasty, so that's a bright spot lol. I kept hearing rave reviews from not only my coworkers, but also random people going by about how good the Mac and cheese was. And I'm a sucker for Mac and cheese. So when my coworker told me she never has leftovers because she always inhales it in one sitting, I knew I had to try. Holy mother of bleep. This is the holy grain. The essence of creamy, mellow and flavorful goodness with bits of crunch ritz crackers on top. You can definitely taste the seasonings of pepper in it, and man let me tell you, seasoned Mac and cheese is infinitely better than just regular cheese and noodles. Taylor is awesome. If you're thinking of trying Lea Jane's fried chicken sandwiches, here's all that you need to know: 1. Where the heck is this place? It's the little window at the end of the patio of Kung Fu Saloon. See pictures. There's no sign yet because this place is new and the pandemic has the sign business either closed or extremely behind on production (according to the owner). 2. How do you order? Right now, you have to download an app and order and pay through the app. The owner said he hasn't been able to get another form of ordering and payment set up because of the pandemic. Also, you can't start an order through the app before they open. 3. How is the service? Really great! We had a chance to speak with the owner, and he was really nice and had a good sense of humor. Also, the hours on yelp were incorrect so we got there about 30 minutes before they actually opened. We were originally just going to wait in our car but because he saw us waiting, he went ahead and got our order started before we could officially order/pay through the app. This was nice so we could pick up the food as soon as they opened. 4. How is the food? Pretty good! I got the fried chicken sandwiches with fries and the truffle mac n cheese. Based on food alone, I'd probably give this restaurant 4 stars but the great service boosted the review to a 5. They use Texas Toast as the bread for the sandwiches instead of the usual brioche bun or hamburger bun I've seen at other places. I wasn't a huge fan of this, but it was a personal preference and I liked the originality. The sandwich itself also needed a little sauce to boost the flavor and offset the smidge of dryness in the chicken. I think they use thigh meat, and the portion of the chicken was good. What a crowd pleaser! My kids basically fought over the mac and cheese. It's priced reasonably and is perfectly executed. It's toddler approved but somehow elevated enough that all the adults love it too. How did they do it?! All I know is I didn't order enough. The hot chicken wrapped in a waffle is very good but our tastes prefer a more savory waffle. The chicken tenders were perfection. I wish I ordered hot sauce on the side as I had them naked as to share with my children. Everything here is executed so so well. Really beautifully crispy juicy chicken with wonderful flavor - I just wish the fries were of the same caliber. The portions were large, so it felt like my money was well spent. I ordered the nashville chicken (mild) that came with a side of fries. The fries are seasoned cajun style (I think). The chicken was very greasy but I still liked it though. I felt unhealthy after eating it, but eating unhealthy here and there isn't too bad for my body. I ordered the 'Plain Jane' chicken sandwich with fries - but please note, there is nothing plain about the taste of this sandwich. You will get a potato bun stuffed with three very generous chicken tenders, pickles and a Dukes mayo. I chose the least spicy option, and it adds a great, flavorful heat to the very crispy, but amazingly moist chicken tenders. With perfectly seasoned, crisp fries, this is in my top five food trucks - and one of the best hot chicken sandwiches I've eaten. If you agree with "There's Something About Mary" that there is not enough meat in cones, then you will love Chef Nick Graves' spin on chicken and waffles: a waffle cone stuffed full of fried chicken and mac 'n cheese and drizzled with ranch. As a whole my experience here was...okay. Let me explain. The food was good, but I waited longer than 40 minutes for it (I wish I was exaggerating but I did the math after standing there for a long time). I ordered the chicken waffle cone and patiently waited but after the 30 minute mark I went up and asked how much longer they think it would take. The guy who I talked to was kind of standoffish too. After I asked him how much longer he thought it would be he'll fix it and to wait a minute. As I waited I saw them finish 3 other chicken waffle cones and just didn't acknowledge my order. So the "minute" wait turned into another ten minutes and at this point I'm upset and I was just going to ask if I could get my money back when a very nice woman asked me what happened as I got up there and I told her. After that she gave me a free fountain drink and they were able to get me the chicken waffle cone out in less than a minute. Now on to the actual food part. Like I said in the beginning the food was good, but I genuinely don't think it was worth the wait. The mac and cheese was amazing I cannot lie, and the chicken was good, but the cone was a bit too sweet in my opinion and didn't really work well combined with everything. If they took the sweetness down it would be a bit better. But yeah that's what I have to say. Waiting over 40 minutes for a chicken waffle cone that was a bit too sweet wasn't the most ideal experience. Ugh I know how I sound and I swear I almost never complain about wait time when it comes to food because I know it's hard to make it and there's other people to serve, but one item taking almost an hour to make made me a smidge upset read more

Fast quick service. The food was okay. I got the catfish sandwich meal, no drink. It caught me by surprise that it was a cashless business.

It was out first time to Post market and it was interesting as a native Houstonian of 50 years. My wife ordered the hot fish sandwich, I got the plain Jane, and we added a side of Mac n cheese and a bottle of water. It was nearly $60 with the tip and the food was good but not mind blowing as the price would suggest. The place was packed and tables are near impossible to get. If you like hipster gentrification along with those prices then belly up to the bar! For me not so much. You also have to pay the $5 parking fee ( that adds a .99 "convenience " charge) that you have to pay because you have to use the app. It's very loud in the space and there are many options.
