I have been going to this office since 2007. I have had visits with both Dr. Michael and Dr. Vince and have been completely satisfied each time. They both truly know how to communicate with patients and have thoughtful and patient responses to any questions you may have. Their office is the nicest I have ever seen and is completely up to date. Their hygienists and assistants are also very professional and help to educate you on dental health. I have been going here for 10+ years. The doctors and dental assistants are wonderful, always kind and attentive while providing quality care. Unfortunately I will be leaving the practice after all these years because of the women at the front desk. I had 4 visits within one month. At 2 of the visits I was told they would be billed to insurance and I would receive an invoice for anything not covered. At the other 2 visits I was told I needed to pay upfront and would get a refund for whatever insurance covered. I was getting whiplash from all this back and forth, unable to predict if I would need to pay upfront or if it would be billed to insurance. After receiving an explanation of benefits from insurance I called the office to discuss my overpayment. I was told they had not received the insurance checks yet and would put a note in my chart to call me once they were received. I never got a phone call. I ultimately followed up and was told the checks were received and I had a $900+ "credit" on my account and they could write me a refund check if I wanted. When questioned on the practice of making ONLY delta dental patients pay upfront and only at some visits the women became quite defensive and rude. All she kept saying is "this is the way the doctor wants it done". Well if that's the case why isn't it followed at every visit? Had I not followed up would a refund check have been written or would I have just had this credit sitting in my account there? This seems like double dipping, keeping the money I paid out of pocket, while also keeping the check from insurance and just having a credit sit in my account. Something just doesn't seem right about this. In today's economy when every penny counts I can't be going to an office when I don't know if I'm going to have to pay hundreds or even thousands of dollars upfront and if they will actually refund me once insurance pays or if they will just keep a credit in my account. I'll be finding a practice that has followed their previous practice of billing insurance and sending an invoice for what wasn't covered. The longest it took insurance to write a check to the dentist in all of these visits was 8 business days. So the woman's explanation of "it's taking insurance too long to pay, that's why delta dental patients have to pay up front" doesn't make sense. read more

I had a fantastic experience today as far as dental appointments go. I had what I considered a tooth emergency and my regular dental office was closed. I searched and called other offices until I came across Colletti Dental. They were able to see me one hour from when I called and everyone from office staff, assistants, and of course Dr Vince, were so professional, competent, and very caring. Very friendly people, did excellent cleaning and work on my teeth, and they definitely know what they're doing when it comes to dentistry. Reason for only 3 stars is their payment process. I had to have a couple fillings after my checkup, and was told they'd send it off to insurance, and call me back within 2-3 weeks. After over 5 weeks, I got a call to schedule the procedure, and was quoted an out of pocket cost of $175. Great! Made an appointment. I was then called twice more with the same information, which I told them they'd already called me with that info. Triple checked the cost was $175, and it was confirmed. Day of, I go in, have the procedure done (again, excellent work), but when I go to pay my quoted amount, I was told it'd be $220. I asked why there was a difference and was told there was additional work needed, so they did it anyway without asking me. I asked them to send to insurance before I paid it, and paid the original $175 amount. About a week later, I got a bill for the additional amount (around $45) they quoted with a due date of about a week. After that week, got another bill with an additional $30 late fee (over 50% increase!). I gritted my teeth and paid it. Unfortunate such a seemingly good office would employ such a poor payment process, and bait and switch practices. They pride themselves for not being part of any dental group, but every experience was not transparent at all. read more

I was in the Lombard area several weeks ago visiting from Denver Co. I lost a crown during my visit on a Friday night. Called the office at 745 am on Saturday and they answered the phone. The lady who helped me was awesome took all my insurance information and set my appointment for 1215. When I arrived the ladies behind the front desk had all of my paper ready to go, they explained everything in detail. I was seen by Dr. Michael Colletti, he took the time to explain everything start to finish. He totally put me at ease on what was going on. Several hours later a new temp crown and I was ready to go. (he is the best of the best it does not get any better). I returned several weeks later to get my new permanent crown and it was a perfect fit the first time. (thanks Doc). You have a great practice and I have never seen anything like it. It was worth the time and effort to fly back to see him. Everyone that took care of me start to finish is awesome. Love my dentist!! I've been going to Dr Colletti for at least 9 years and I'm so lucky I found this office. My teeth have never been healthier and I feel like they genuinely care about my oral health as cheesy as that sounds! And if you're considering going now just know they have taken every possible measure to keep patients safe! I just went today so I know the hygienist wasn't just wearing a mask she had a mask, shield, jacket, gloves, and each cleaning pod has its own air sanitizer. Just by walking in the door, you can tell this is a family practice that truly cares about their patients. I really appreciated how friendly the staff was. I will admit that I was a little anxious to see the dentist but the hygienist and Dr. Vince eased my nerves right away. I was a new patient so my entire exam and cleaning was done by Dr. Vince. He talked me through the entire exam and offered great tips. I could feel a difference in my teeth after the cleaning - Dr. Vince uses the best quality equipment so the process is painless and quick. Scheduling an appointment is exceptionally easy - it normally took months to see my last dentist but I was able to schedule an exam within 1 week AND they offer evening and Saturday appointments. I live in the city but Dr. Vince is worth the drive to the suburbs - I would definitely recommend him to friends! read more

When I was a kid, I got so nervous about going to the dentist that I'd feel nauseated while sitting in the waiting room. Luckily I grew out of that. But like most people, I'm not jumping for joy on the days I have a dentist appointment. There's just no way around it. However, Dr. Colletti and his team are AWESOME! They really make coming to the dentist as painless as possible. First, Dr. Colletti himself. He's personable, funny, answers all my nagging questions about my oral health (and I do ask a lot), and is good at what he does. He explains everything beforehand and is very gentle. My wife and I have seen him for years now. Even our son sees him and he's great with kids. And now Dr. Colletti's son, Dr. Vince, works at the practice too. Aside from being a great dentist, he also has a great sense of humor. He explains stuff. Answers my questions ("Who do you practice pulling teeth on in dental school?"). He's a very valuable asset to the team. It doesn't matter which doctor I see because I like them both. The dental hygienists are also very, very good at what they do. I always make my appointment with Alexa because she's so gentle with my teeth (my teeth are pretty sensitive). She also gives me tips about how to keep my teeth clean and areas of brushing and flossing I need to improve on. Yes, 37 years on this earth and I still need brushing and flossing tips. Anyway, she also gets my teeth very, very clean. I've seen other hygienists too and they're all awesome. Never had a bad experience. Finally, there's the office itself. The waiting room has plush, leather chairs and couches. There's a big screen television to keep you entertained while you wait. The front office staff always remembers who I am, even though I'm only there for my 2 cleanings per year. Everything is clean, well-organized and you can tell they really pay attention to detail. Dr. Michael Colletti has been our family dentist for 25 years. I am the most sensitive dental patient ever-and I feel safe with him. My kids and husband love him and his staff, too. Now Dr. Vince Colletti (Dr. Michael's son) has joined the practice. We all like him very much, too! This practice is all about cutting edge technologies and treatments. The office is nice, but that's about it. Buyer be warned, they are NOT in any insurance network so even preventative care like a simple cleaning is NOT covered even if you have insurance!! This should be disclosed when booking the appointment or when they make a copy of the insurance card. It is very misleading and they are not willing to work with you. When I tried to ask questions about the bill the front office staff got very short and rude with me when I was just trying to understand the charges. The dental hygienists and dentists are very nice, but I most certainly will not be going back. Ask for the price of their services before booking or letting them do ANY services!!! read more

Despite the fact that Dr. Colletti is an out-of-network doc. for any dental insurance carriers out there, my husband and I have been his patients for over 5 years. Having him as your dentist is expensive but we kept going there as we felt very comfortable with the services provided and Dr. Colletti's expertise, that's no longer the case. His son joined the practice 2 years ago; did not appreciate the transition and being "transferred" to Colletti Jr. just like that and not being able to see our doc. again. When scheduling my last appointment there, I even asked if my doctor, Michael Colletti would be in as I wanted to see him, i was told he would be there, still ended up being seen by his son. Dr. Vince is a very nice guy, but he is not my doctor. Also, the office staff, especially Donna, is rude and will often provide with false information. Be prepared to pay at least $70 out of your pocket for a cleaning with any type of dental insurance you've got. read more

I have been going to Dr. Colletti for about eight years now and he is simply one of the best. During my first appointment, he noticed that I had extra enamel on my front teeth, making them appear "drippy" and longer than they are. He offered to shave them down a bit and my smile was instantly improved. My previous dentists had never mentioned that it could be fixed. This is just one example of the care and attention to detail that I experience with Dr. Colletti. Massage chairs and televisions at each cleaning station also make the experience more enjoyable. Over time, I have convinced three family members to switch to him and they're very happy as well. Even if I move out of the Lombard area, I would continue to go to Dr. Colletti. A co-worker told me about this office. I was looking to switch Dentists from my childhood one and my husband had not seen a dentist in a very long time. When we arrived, Dr. Colletti was very welcoming and friendly to us, the staff were polite, and the office was beautiful. Our first impression was very good. My main concern before getting started was to address the pricing. We were covered under HUMANA and I wanted to make sure that we would be able to afford any work done before moving forward in the evaluation process. The receptionist assured me that we would only be responsible for our portion of the fee (20% of services, first set of Xrays and cleaning were 100% coverage). Once the Doctor evaluated our Xrays, he gave us the estimated costs for his entire recommendations. His explanations were very comprehensive and it seemed like he would do a fabulous job with our teeth. We knew that we could not afford the full plan and expressed that to him. He mentioned something about his office paying for it and then we would make the payments ( interest free ) to the office. All in all, it seemed like he understood our situation and was concerned to meet our needs. Therefore, we decided to start working with in our $1500 yearly limit. Right off the bat, my husband and I were both told we had severely advanced decay and needed root canals STAT. Out of fear, we agreed to start working with those, despite other big concerns. It wasn't until after our teeth were done that the bill was sprung on us. We were horrified at the expense of the bills. My husband had no idea how much he should expect to pay for dental work and so he blindly handed over his credit card and assumed that was the remainder after insurance coverage. NO ONE TOLD us that Dr. Colletti did not participate in Humana's Network. It wasn't until after I was curious as to why both of our bills were so high ( After the first of my 2-part root canal) that I called Humana myself and the representative informed me that Dr. Colletti was OUT OF NETWORK and if we went somewhere else, we would only pay the 20%, as had been expected. We were now responsible for the rest. I was frantic, and opted to have a temp cover my root canal instead of even moving forward in the post/core. My husband stopped after the post and core because he had no other option (it was a canine tooth). Although Doctor Colletti is a friendly guy and the office is beautiful, I don't recommend going to him. He made us promises (extra Xrays would be free of charge) that he didn't uphold and I believe that his office staff mislead us about our insurance coverage. Once I called Humana myself, I got a clear explanation of the situation. Unfortunately, that was after over a thousand dollars in bills already fell onto us. The horrible icing on the cake is that when I went to the Midwestern clinic last month for an evaluation, the professors and student I was working with told me that the Root Canal I had done from Doctor Colletti was incorrectly positioned and needed to be completely re-done (this is within 6 months of his work). Midwestern has been a fantastic place for me to understand how a Dentist office can practice with upfront and honest financial obligations. As a result of my positive experience with Midwestern, I have now found a dentist in Oak Brook that is truly fantastic. Her staff contacted Humana and gave me a FULL estimate before I started working with her. Her office is smaller, but she shows genuine skill and concern and takes her time to get everything perfect. I wish we had investigated around more before jumping in with Dr. Colletti. If you are reading this, I would suggest that you get more information before going forward. In my opinion, Dr. Colletti does a great job of making people feel good while they are in his office. He has a great personality, beautiful equipment, and fancy techniques. But, there are better dentist out there who take care to make sure the PATIENT is fully taken care of. There is NO EXCUSE why we were not told we would have to pay over a 1,000 out of pocket (for minimal work done) right from the start. That is more than 2x what Midwestern quoted to me to fix EVERYTHING in my mouth (including making me a new night guard and whitening). And my new Dentist in Oak Brook quoted me 600 for complete care (minus the crown work). read more
