I had a horrible experience at a dentist in Downers Grove and was pretty sure he chipped a tooth next to the one he was working on, so I was scrambling trying to find another dentist that would get me in on the same day to have it looked at. After calling nearly 20 dentists I finally got down the list to Prairie Walk Dental. I got lucky that none of those other dentists could get me in on the same day because this place is awesome. The doctor and his work were the best I've had, and I've been to a lot of different dentists (I'm a military spouse so we move around a lot.) I wish I could take these guys with me wherever we go next. Go to them, guarantee you'll love 'em too!

Was asked right away to review this company and Im always leery of reviewing a place right off the bat (doesn't give much time for issues to come out). Dr recommended some work. Prior to, I received a Quote for the work. Asked the office staff how reliable is the Quote. They said pretty much on key and may be off a bit but not more than + / - $100 typically. I based my treatment off the Quote and went forward w some of the recommended work. Had a temporary crown installed and after 2 days it fell out while I was brushing my teeth and just before the weekend. My first ever so I was freaking out. Left voicemail - no response. Called on Monday and left another voicemail about the crown - no response. I went an entire month without a temporary crown (just a nub of a tooth) before they installed my permanent crown. Im lucky my teeth didn't shift...or did they? Once complete, I made my next cleaning appointment before I left because the gal at the office said it's covered and was told Id be billed for the crown after the insurance paid. When I received my bill, it was 65% MORE than what the Quote stated. (Was expecting to be paying around $100 and an $800 bill came in the mail) I was never told that there would be additional charges outside of the Quote or what those charges would be...apparently it was filler for a crown. One would think the customer would be notified prior to receiving a bill. I finally got a response from the office and told them I wanted to cancel my next cleaning appointment (that's supposed to be covered by my insurance). Was offered a discount of $99 for the cleaning. What? It's supposed to be covered. So Megan offered to do some research with the insurance company and cancelled our phone call because she stated she was on the phone w my insurance company. I did not receive an update. When I did my own research regarding what happened, it appears as though this was an office error not an insurance error during the Quote process. Im not a fan of financial surprises. The staff is incredibly nice but discrepancies like this can be costly. In addition, i still have issues w the crown. If I eat something sweet and it hits it - pain. I cant even floss too. Have dental anxiety and will likely be living with this new pain that I never had prior to this place.

Just get back today from a quick root canal follow up visit with Dr. Burgener @ Wheaton office ... Couldn't be more happier with the result of root canal.( All the issues with tooth were fixed in just one previous visit ) ************************************************************ Below more details: ( For patients whoever want to know more) The Situation with my tooth was complicated (before root canal).. During the first visit , Dr. Burgener immediately point out there was serious Periodental Pocket around the tooth..If it is left untreated.. The tooth probably can not be saved eventually (even after root canal)... From that moment , I realize why she become Excellent Surgeon..(Looking at the root causes of a issue, foresee all other problem in the mouth that will cause future root canal failure...) Gum issues/ Disease is a different function(Periodentist) I was expecting her to say " After Root canal.. Suggest to see Periodentist) But she never say anything like that... To my surprise, As a talented Endodontist, She come up with a creative solution( Special filling with medication to cover the gum area).. So here I am , Within 2 Weeks after root canal.. My Gum @ that Problem tooth area come back( almost fully recovered) As we all know, Periodental pockets / Disease are difficult to treat...and very very slow recovery.. or in certain cases..
