Leaf lounge is the ideal drinking location. Situated on the top of One Fulton Plaza you are treated to a sweeping view of downtown Flushing and close to many dinner destinations for pre-gaming or an after party drink. I like their devotion to cleanliness and safety which is good to keep both customers and staff safe. They encourage reservations so they can control the number of people coming in and out. They even take your temperature at the door. They checked me twice maybe because I was wearing a headband and it was a nice summer day so it got a little hot. The staff is very nice and very attentive. The waiter did not even get upset when I spilled some water on the table. Everyone was wearing a mask too. I like straws and they have plenty so I felt better not drinking from the same cup as another person did. I was seated at a safe distance away from other people and they make sure not to crowd in another table even if it gets busy. Good for me cuz less prying eyes as I take a zillion pictures They also had menus you can scan on your phone so you don't have to touch their regular menu. They had a ton of comfy looking chairs and benches which you can hang out on but they need to seat you to make sure you are socially distancing. When the weather is nice this is a great place to just enjoy being outdoors sipping on a nicely crafted drink on a weekend/ weekday night. I thoroughly enjoyed their watermelon refresher and tried the Queens Boy Cuomo a nod to our governor. There seemed to be a decent amount of alcohol in each drink without skimping on other ingredients that would make the drinks less tasty or watered down. The size of the drinks was also adequate. I definitely would have given it 5 stars if not for a $35 per person minimum which two drinks does not make. You definitely need to order something else and nothing is less than $7. I also miss their Taiwanese food which I had tried before which they used to serve -their beef noodles and crispy chicken chunks. The menu has been reduced to mostly drinks and American fare like fries and burgers. The buffalo wings were good with enough salt, spice and kick. This I ended up ordering to go since I had to leave and just needed to meet the minimum. Also the waiting area near the elevator gets quite stuffy so a reservation is definitely recommended. Great place to get a drink if you can find it since you either have to take the elevator in the lobby of the hotel and then take another elevator or go to the outdoor plaza where there is an outdoor elevator and go past some restaurants on the left into another room to take the elevator upstairs. If your ID card is outdated (not expired, but outdated), the hostess will let you know but they will still let you inside. DRINKS: My friends and I ordered a few drinks- the Pineapple Express, the Aloe Vera Fizz, and the Eastside. I liked the Aloe Vera Fizz over the Pineapple Express, it seemed simple and bland with a touch of flavor just to my liking. I ended up telling my friend to finish the Pineapple Express for me because I wasn't too fond of it, but you're a pineapple fan you might like it! Overall drinks weren't too strong. There is a $35 minimum pp here, which we agreed to before getting seated. The views were great on the rooftop! It is nicely decorated with string lights, couches, tables spaced out, and heated lamps. We ordered a bunch of finger foods -- edamame, chicken wings, gyoza, etc. For drinks, we got a Watermelon Refresher (lunazul tequila, aperol, fresh watermelon juice, mint, lime, Eastside (vodka, cucumber juice, lemon juice, thyme syrup), and Yamagucci (takara shochu, dassai junmai nigori sake, yuzu, lime juice). They were all pretty decent but nothing to rave about. I have had better cocktails before. The watermelon refresher had three big block of ice cubes in it which was disheartening to see. I do think the prices are high for its portions they give, both in terms of food and drinks. For example, the edamame is $9. However, it is a rooftop bar so it does not surprise me. If you're going to go to any rooftop bar, you have to splurge a little. In all, the food here is 3 stars but the wonderful ambiance and entire experience bumps it up to 4 stars. Service was absolutely terrible. We stayed for 1 drink then left. While we were waiting almost 20 minutes for our drinks we watched the bartender taking shots and having drinks with his friends at the bar. I ended up going to the bar and asking for the check as soon as the drinks finally came. The cocktail waitress tried to explain the wait by telling us they make the cocktails from scratch. I told her we had no problem waiting for someone to actually make cocktails but we did have a problem watching the bartender get drunk and party with his friends instead of actually working. They're located in the Hyatt near Prince st. It's a bit difficult to find though, if you enter from outside the hotel. We went up the steps on the outside and didn't realize we had to open the door that said leaf bar and take an elevator up. That was a bit confusing, but apparently you could also enter from inside the hotel so just an FYI! They had good music playing, and a party on the other side. Great views and layout. This bar is located in the top floor of the hotel at this address. You'll be treated by a hostess who can seat you either inside or outside. I chose to sit at the bar while I waited for a friend. The bartender was super friendly and was willing to engage in some banter about his pins! I tried a bourbon based drink as was impressed by the mixology and attention to detail. I returned later the next night and tried the popcorn chicken, the gyoza and the fries. I would recommend ALL THREE! Great snacks to go with the cocktails. The hostess was great at accommodating our large group of folks post-wedding. The only set back to table service was that 1 card / 1 check was required. Because of this, most ordered at the bar a couple feet away and brought back items to the table. Besides the intense bitters, all of my drinks have no alcohol in them. I hope after 2 drink something would hit me -- especially an old fashioned. Leaf is a popular option in the Queens based social circles I run with. Often we find ourselves back here even if we are in another part of Queens. The location is great - downtown flushing and high in the sky (it's up inside the Hyatt). There are many tables and outdoor seating. Drink selection is filled with quality cocktails. They even have tasty (Taiwanese) snacks. I always feel pretty relaxed here - they never seem to rush you out, or push you to keep ordering items while you are talking with friends. They really seem to want you to lounge! On my recent visit I could do without the nondescript background pop music playing. I enjoyed my Barrel aged Negroni, perhaps it was slightly unbalanced towards the sweet vermouth side, but it sure looked handsome and I felt like an adult drinking it. I tried the chamomile old fashioned and really enjoyed that as well. Sometimes you might get set on a particular cocktail or beer and they will be out of stock which can be bummer, but still many good choices to choose. (I think it contained soju, calpico, and marshmallow syrup) didnt really taste the marshmallow syrup but it did come with a marshmallow topping! Service was def not attentive at all. Had to wave and yell for the waiter to notice us, and sometimes had to ask for things twice. The food was decent- we ordered things like popcorn chicken and fries. Came out quickly as well! It was a really chill atmosphere and we did not feel rushed at all as we stayed there for about 2 hours. The 4 of us spent 113 without tip - just a little under the $120 "mininum" and they didnt really say anything so I guess the $30 pp rule is not strictly enforced. They said we weren't allowed to walk over to the other table which was really inconvenient. There is a $35 minimum per person and there is the requirement that food must be bought with the alcohol. These are the new rules enforced by the city inspector recently. They checked our temperatures before seating us. Great views from the rooftop! It wasn't too cold so we sat outside. I really liked the watermelon refresher which was Lunazul tequila with watermelon juice. It come with a slice of watermelon, mint, aperol and lime. All cocktails are $15 each. Our server was really attentive and recommended us the casamigos blanco shots ($8). The food was decent. We got the shoestring fries, edamame, and gyoza for $9 each plate. They were quite expensive for its portion size -- for example the gyoza order only came with 6 pieces -- but it is expected for a bar. I really liked the fries.
