Overall Background A LeafGuard sales representative knocked on my door despite a clearly posted "No Soliciting" sign. They were courteous, but ignoring a homeowner's request not to be solicited doesn't create a great first impression. I prefer companies that respect people's privacy and let potential customers contact them when they're interested. That approach may not generate as many sales, but it builds trust and goodwill. I hope Leafguard encourages its door-to-door teams to respect posted signs in the future. Finally, can we cut out the whole 'we're doing work in your area' or 'we just got done doing work in your area' bit? It's tired, and frankly, I seriously doubt that you'd tell me where it was you performed work or were doing work. As always, your experience will vary. read more

LeafGuard just finished installing gutters on our house this week (replacing our standard gutters). I'm writing this review because I feel they deserve it, and to provide insight based on my reasonably significant experience with gutters as a homeowner over the past 25 years. I actually first installed LeafGuard on our previous house in 2003. My impression at the time was that it was well-designed and lived up to its promise of me never needing to clean my gutters again. Please note that I do not shy away from cleaning gutters myself. However: 1) some gutter locations are high and dangerous to access, and 2) gutters really should be cleaned twice per year. Over the course of, let's say 20 years, you end up with 40 real opportunities to get seriously hurt. In 2010, after moving into a different house, we took bids from LeafGuard and others to replace the aging, standard gutters. Like I said, I already knew and liked LeafGuard, but we were mindful of our expenses. The standard gutters were a lot cheaper. And that particular gutter company convinced me that hiring a gutter cleaning company would be easy and cheap (they suggested less than $200 per visit). I went with standard gutters. As it turns out: 1) gutter cleaning companies regularly go out of business and/or simply disappear. And 2) they are rather expensive. As in $500 per visit. So me, Mr. DIY, ended up cleaning the easier-to-reach gutters myself (using my tall ladder), and I would hold out until I absolutely "needed" to call a cleaning company for those clogging, impossible-to-reach locations. And then wait weeks for the company to come to our house. How this adds up is that I regretted not going with LeafGuard in 2011. Finally, we get to this year, 2025, where we have performed a major addition to our house and have also replaced our shake roof (and added plywood sub-roofing). We needed to replace all gutters. There was absolutely no way I was going to go with standard gutters. I took bids from: 1) LeafGuard, and 2) Guardian, the local company that installs K-Guard. (Note: I cancelled my appointment with Leaf Filter because those systems, in my experience and after about 5 minutes of reflection, are kind of a joke because they require regular maintenance, and don't do well with pollen.) So it was down to LeafGuard vs. K-Guard. LeafGuard is the original. If you compare the two, you'll see how K-Guard copies LeafGuard and how K-Guard falls a bit short. I'm not saying that K-Guard is lousy -- it's not. But it is not as well thought out as LeafGuard. I learned during the bidding process that since my original installation of LeafGuard in 2003, they upgraded their product in 2009 in several noticeable ways. Notable examples for me included the type and texture of paint (to optimize performance), the crimping they use along the gutterline for rigidity, little things like a subtle bump in the hood to improve water adhesion, and the downspout filter (which you'll just have to see for yourself). The sales reps for both LeafGuard and Guardian (who sells and installs K-Guard) were excellent. But LeafGuard won the day with their very-evolved design and guaranty that if my gutters ever clog, they will clean them out for free. (K-Guard, as I recall, offers the same thing, but don't let them tell you that LeafGuard gutters cannot be cleaned out, because that clearly is not true.) The gutters were installed yesterday. My contractor (we are still remodeling) was very impressed with the product and their workmanship. We talked about it at length. The installers were two of the most focused guys I've ever seen. Happy to answer questions and review design choices, but when they worked, they were focused. The finished product is -- and I cannot believe I'm saying this about gutters, of all things -- exquisite. The components and craftsmanship is second-to-none. That's all I've got. I hope that was helpful. I think it's nice to reward a company that does such an excellent job with a helpful and thorough review. read more

This company only seems interested in using their used car salesman tactics to get people to pay exorbitant amounts for gutter installation -- and apparently are not above price gouging their existing customers. We've had LeafGuard gutters on our home for over 6 years and recently did a remodel that required reinstallation of two removed gutters (neither longer than 16') and a relatively minor change to the downspout. They initially quoted over $4400 before "talking to the manager" and bringing it down to ~$2400. For a reinstall of existing gutters! Same song and dance they do when they sell you on the gutters in the first place. I haven't been that impressed with the gutters since they were originally installed -- constant dripping from the edges/bottoms despite frequently cleaning them off/out -- and only reached out to them to keep the gutters consistent around the house. My contractor estimated new gutters for about 8X less than LeafGuards "discounted" quote. Don't waste your time with these salesman games. Save money and frustration -- go with another company and product. read more

First and foremost these gutters perform exactly as advertised, nothing gets inside the gutter. They are expensive but you can check one task(cleaning gutters) off your list forever. Also the customer service proved to be just that service. We had an issue with some of the coating on the outside of the metal on the gutter(3 yrs in) I called and they sent someone out to look at it, then nothing. Well after a couple of months I called in and Dana showed up to see the problem and the whole resolution trajectory changed. She explained what she needed to do in a calm and matter of fact manner. All the way through the process she communicated. Finally two really nice you men, Jacob and Steven, came out and physically fixed(replaced) gutters. I had Leafguard gutters installed on my house 20 years ago. They are still in good condition. But needed to be cleaned out. After 20 years, they came out on warranty and cleaned for free. At the same time, I asked them to install new gutters on my detached garage and shop. Salesman, Grant, worked with me on price to fit in my budget and schedule to get it done. The product is great. Several improvements on new version compared to 20 years ago. Bigger gutter, better water flow, same lifetime warranty. Very satisfied. read more

They lied. I had my house fitted for leafguard gutters. Later I added leafguard to my newly installed double car garage, gazebo, storage. I didn't have any problems with them coming over at first. Then two years I called to inform them my gazebo had leave blocking the water resulting in water getting everywhere. Since they were coming over to check those gutters I asked to check the top level (this is a two story home). They told me unless I was for sure that the gutters were blocked they would not do and if they did they would charge me. These gutters have a lifetime warranty but they would not do the warranty. They cleaned the gutters from the gazebo which had debris but would not do the top of the house. In order to do the top level I would have to hire someone to climb the roof to check and that would cost me $$. Their comment was their job is not to clean gutters but to sell and install. Therefore their warranty is not true. And here I was recommending this company. I am truly sorry they are only good when they put it in not on their warranties unless u can prove the gutters are blocked!! read more

We have had the leaf guard gutters for over 20 years and they have never failed. Yes miss will grow in them if they are not cleaned on a regular yet what gutters don't have moss growth. The difference is the lifetime no clog guarantee and the level of customer service this company provides. We recently called in a service to reattach a section that had come loose. Craig and Brandon called in the morning provided a 15 min eta and arrived promptly. These two dudes are the best, caring, knowledgeable and super friendly. They not only reattached the loose section but they took the time to flush out and remove the moss and other debris that had accumulated during the Covid life time out. I enjoyed the conversation and two leaf guard staff members who truly care about talking care of people. Stay away from the cheap wannabe gutter systems and go with the original no clog gutter system. Leaf Guard is awesome and a no brainer when looking for quality from product to customer service. read more

Wish we'd done our research. Leaf Guard installed gutter guards in August. We live in the Pacific NW, so installer warned us about a spot that might need to be assessed when the rains started. His concern was where the downspout was not connected to the lower gutter causing the water to overflow. He said to call the company and they will send an installer back to adjust (?). That should have been a warning. Fall and our winter rains start. Husband checks and the rain is doing exactly as warned. We made our first call on Oct 29th and we made a date for someone to come and fix. Finally, after the 3rd call and promise someone will come out, my husband called a 4th time and spoke to 'Andrew' who expressed surprise and said he would contact 'corporate' and call us back. It's now Nov 18th. No called back. Thanksgiving Day we notice a foul odor in our family room. Rug in the same area as outside problem is wet and moldy. Now, after spending $5000, we need to remove the gutter guard, have our house tested for mold and hope we don't need to recarpet the entire room. We joined the class action suit against this company (yes, that's how many people this company has screwed- google for that contact). We also filed complaint with BBB. They will come to your home do a presentation quote you 5X price point what the price really is then Give you reason after reason why they can further discount their price and when they get to the final number it's still 5X more than any other comparable gutter system on the market. They pray on older individuals who are less apt to do their research and try to get them into signing their contract for exorbitantly high prices. They promised dinner vouchers and or all kinds of different promotional things to get somebody to agree to a presentation and quote and yet do they ever send them out to people? I have no idea why there are not more reviews here. I think there is a little confusion about the name or something. I read the other negative review here and while I agree that the tv ad is BS and the in-home sales presentation is old school baloney, the fact is I LOVE THESE GUTTERS! I mean, yes they are not cheap, but they are obviously of high quality. The guys came out and did a great job installing my gutters which I installed this summer. They were exceptionally friendly and courteous and did a great job. The sales girl who came out was very nice, and I was already sold on the job, but she was compelled to go through the sales routine anyway. I wanted to stop her and say forget that hokum. Just give me the facts. I'm in. Well, I wanted to wait until we had some big rains to write a review. We had a very small issue with one of the downspouts, and I thought we would be in for a big hassle to get someone out here. Wrong. The same nice guy came out immediately and fixed the minor problem. And I can say that these gutters are keeping all the leaves out and handling large volumes of water and clearing it away from my house (which had drainage and water problems before). I am more than satisfied. They are worth the money for sure. I would simply beg the company to drop the hokey sales routines and stupid gift certificates and flip flam tv ads. Just state the facts and stand behind the product. The product sells itself dummies!! Get these things, they are great. And the people who come out are great, too. read more
