Came here for a butter beer & coffee to go. You can skip the line if you are not dining in. If you're coming here for coffee, don't bother, they don't have any. The place is adorable and if you are a Harry Potter fan, you'd love it here. We didn't eat but the food smells amazing! I'd love to stay and eat next time. The butter beer was tasty if you are into sugary drinks.

Can't believe it took me this long to review the Leaky Cauldron, but if you're a Harry Potter fan at all this place is a dream to see and sit in- it looks EXACTLY like in the movies it's crazy! They offer a unique set of food on the menu, all English inspired and food common in the HP world & books. Cottage Pie, Shepherds Pie, Fisherman's Pie, all the savory pie entrees. Bangers & Mash, Fish & Chips, scotch eggs and some other options. They actually even serve breakfast in the morning if you're at the parks early enough. But the thing I'll come back here for that hopefully they'll keep on the menu long term: butterbeer potted cream. Ooooh my word! It is incredibly, teeth-achingly sweet but boy is it a fantastic dessert. If you've never had potted cream, it's kind of a creamier, richer pudding type dessert, And then imagine it in butterbeer flavor and it's just wonderful. Here's the scene: hanging out in the Leaky Cauldron after you've just entered Diagonal Alley through the hidden brick wall entry, chilling with a butterbeer potted cream and watching Sirius Black's wanted poster scream indefinitely while young witches and wizards running all about. Couldn't ask for a better time.

Fish & Chips (Kid's Entree)

A very popular restaurant located in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Studios. The main restaurant is supposed to be similar to the famous pub/inn from the Harry Potter books and movies. The atmosphere was so realistic. I really felt like I was in the wizarding world. The menu stayed on theme featuring English pub style food. Keep in mind it is theme park pricing, but even I found it expensive. I wanted the fish & chips so I ordered the kid's entree version of it. It was still a good sized portion, came with grapes, and was half the cost of the adult sized version. The wait time is not fun - especially if you're hungry. My friend and I went a little after 12:45pm and the line was out the door. Once you get inside, there is another line with an employee seating people based on party size. It was about a 30 minute wait in line for our party of two. And when you sit, you're directed to order your food on the theme park app. From there, the food took about 10 minutes to come out. Employees are nice at least.

Definitely don't expect too much from park food for the money, but pleasantly surprised the leaky cauldron was filling and not bad at all. $5 drinks, $20 plates . It was a filling lunch, in Harry Potter world. Servers were nice and the food came out quick. I enjoyed my razz ice tea being thirsty from all the line queues we were in all day. The fish was a good portion, not dry, could have been crispier and hotter though. The fries just needed a bit more seasoning but you have salt etc at your table order via QR code and the food comes out fast! Would be back to try the burgers perhaps next? Overall it hit the spot and had plenty of table seating!

Fish & Chips ($19.99) - I appreciated how thick the fish AND chips were, making this a filling meal. The batter could've been crispier and the fish and tartar sauce could've had more flavor though.

Bangers and mash

Probably on of the better places to eat in within the park. Love the theme within Harry Potter world based on the film. Decor is fitting and pretty easy going layout. Service is very nice and quick as they need to turn over tables quick to keep up with both lunch and dinner rush. I had a few of their fancy drinks and all of them are very interesting with a twist they may surprise you and your tastebuds. But I cannot get past the bangers and mash! Great flavor and bursting with juices. Mash add a nice complement balance of flavor to the plate but the veggies are always roasted to perfection! Swing by and give this place a try. Lunch time is normally quicker but dinner can be a longer wait.

I had lunch here on Thursday. This is a quick service restaurant. You seat yourself, do the Universal mobile app order, tell them you have arrived, put your table number in and they bring it to your table for you. The service was fast within 10-15 minutes of putting in the order. We got the butterbeer, pumpkin juice, butterbeer potted cream and butterbeer ice cream. There were two vegetarian entree options: vegan curry and Shepherd's pasty pie. All three of us got the Shepherd's pasty pie entree that had meatless beef crumbles in it. It was filling, had vegetarian protein and delicious. It was needed for a vigorous day of walking around the theme park. The portion size was large too my sister almost couldn't finish hers. The butterbeer items were all very good. The atmosphere here is immersive. I loved it and will be back.

Fun place for any meal or snack or just a butter beer. The way they stick to branding is great - from the cast to the decor. The food is basically English pub style and pretty solid. I can recommend the beef, lamb and Guiness stew. Like the other food options, you order from the QR code on your table and a friendly cast member brings your food. It was a fun place for lunch and to get out of the crowds.

The ambiance is that of a cold, musty old tavern. The line is long, but it does go quickly. They tell you to order on the app while you're in line and then insert the table number after you're seated. I had a difficult time going back to the order once we were seated, so I had to ask an employee to find it for me. Once the table number was entered, it only took about 10 minutes for the food to arrive. The food was very good, we both had the fish and chips and we split the sticky toffee pudding, which was excellent. My friend really enjoyed the dairy-free Butterbeer. I tasted it and it was indeed yummy. I would definitely return if I'm back in the park.

Mini pie sampler with side salad

This system needs a lot of work! So they don't tell you to pick a table first as this is needed when you place your order. We put our stuff at the table, returned to the line and ordered and our stuff was gone from the table when we got back ‍ staff also seemed very annoyed that we were even there ordering; not to mention there was only one register open and they were quite slow. When we finally did get our food and drinks, they tried bringing us double drinks - not realizing they gave them to us at the counter and seemed annoyed at us because of their system. We did try the mini pie sampler which came with a cottage pie and fisherman's pie with a side salad. Everything was cooked and presented well. My partner liked the cottage pie better which was filled with meat, cheese and potatoes. While I liked the fisherman's with whole shrimps and tender fish (added malt vinegar to make it better). As we were leaving we did hear other people talking about ordering in the app. Dave yourself hassle and do that instead!

Inside

The immersion is definitely here in the restaurant from the costumes on the employees to the way the restaurant is decorated, you'll feel like you're eating as a wizard. Some of the QR codes on the table do not work so be aware of that when ordering. Make sure you have the app installed on your phone just in case. The Scotch egg wasn't very flavorful. It's one of those things that you can try once and you don't need again. The sausage roll had a surprising amount of sausage in it. It went really well with the Dijon mustard from the Scotch egg plate. I'm not a fan of spicy you mustard. I do wish there was an option that you could pick the kind of mustard that came with the sausage roll. Since we came for breakfast there wasn't much of a wait so we were able to sit ourselves. The food did take a little longer to get to us but it was still hot so I wasn't upset. I prefer the food not to be pre-made and cold when it arrives at the table. Don't forget to take advantage of your annual pass holder discount while dining here!

Fish and chips

I came back to Universal after a couple years of not going and I knew I had to get lunch at Leaky Cauldron! Their fish and chips is the best! You can order with a barcode and they bring the food to your table. The fish and chips is hot and fresh. It comes with a zesty tartar sauce. They even offered me more without me asking. Service was amazing. The Harry Potter atmosphere is incredible. This is my favorite food in the park!

Left to right: pumpkin juice, apple cider, & raspberry iced tea
Lizzie Y.

OMG, I'll be so honest right now... I had no expectations for Leaky Cauldron & thought it was going to be like your typical sorta-lame amusement park food BUT NO! This was pretty solid for park food. We each got fish + chips & a different drink to try. For drinks, we did pumpkin juice, apple cider, & raspberry iced tea! My favorite of the three was the raspberry iced tea. The food came out pretty quick... I would say within minutes after ordering via app. Now, don't expect the food to be piping hot or anything because I'm almost certain everything has already been made ahead of time and just reheated. Dining here is really for the experience but so mean I didn't think the food we ordered was bad. I quite enjoyed the fish and chips and I think the only thing that I think could've made it better was if the fish was crispier. Other than that, it was a decent + filling lunch. Prices are okay. Exactly what you'd expect at a park. Fish + chips were ~$19-20 & drinks were essentially $5. Overall $70 for 3 fish and chips and 3 drinks.

Which park Leaky Cauldron in? Islands of Adventure or Classic Universal (no idea what the name of the other one is...?)?

Leaky Cauldron is in Diagon Alley, which is on the Universal Studios side. Also, if you're interested, Hogsmeade, on the Islands of Adventure side, has The Three Broomsticks.

Can someone tell me what time the Leaky Cauldron stops selling breakfast?

Pretty sure 10:30.

I think our waiter was overloaded with tables but was super nice.

What an absolute gem!…read more We do Fun Food Friday as a family every week and tonight we decided to check out some Irish Cuisine. Harp & Celt may lack in the parking lot aspect, but it MORE than makes up for it in flavor, service, and atmosphere! There are two sides to H&C, one a bit more of a lively bar scene, and the other a more laid back pub vibe. Both have great seating and a fully stocked bar with access to some of the most delicious food around. We started with the pretzel sticks and fries with gravy and they both came out super fast and the gravy is beyond words good! One warning, it is piping hot so be careful! Haha The shepherd's pie has a fantastic mince with creamy and crispy topped mashed potatoes that feels like a warm hug in your stomach. The fish and chips are light, excellently crispy, and ridiculously fresh tasting. Add a little malt vinegar for a little zing and you've got a brilliant meal! Tack on a cold Manger's cider from the bar and you could be in any pub in Ireland. When there is a soccer game happening they've got the televisions dialed right in so you don't miss a minute of action, and you can even challenge your friends to a game of darts if you've got the skill!

It's hard to find a good burger place that has thick patties, and The Whiskey delivers that meat. Another thing that blew me away was the mushroom that came on top. There were 6 of us in the group, so reserving ahead definitely helped. I actually had to do it twice because we reserved our spot before we left, and by the time we got there, it had timed out. I checked in again, and when we arrived, the host said, "I see you checked in twice." He told us the wait would probably be about 10 minutes, and we ended up waiting less than that before being seated. Considering it's at Icon Park and it was the night of a game, the place was packed with a lot of hustle and bustle. I was impressed that we were seated so quickly, especially with a party of 6. Our waiter, Matt, was amazing, and the food was amazing too. We ordered what felt like almost every appetizer on the menu. We had the Cali Roll Stack, Parmesan truffle fries, crispy Brussels sprouts, spinach dip, and the vegan Gardein wings. The Cali Roll Stack was probably my favorite appetizer. It was so good, and it was made with real crab. Most places use imitation crab, and Matt even told us that's why it's his favorite appetizer too. He was absolutely right. The Gardein wings were surprisingly good. We ordered the Korean chili garlic and Buffalo flavors, and if nobody had told me they were vegan, I probably wouldn't have known. I'd never had a soy-based wing before, but I would definitely order them again. The Parmesan truffle fries were exactly what you want them to be, and the crispy Brussels sprouts disappeared fast. At that point, it seemed like everyone else was tapped out, but somehow we still had room to eat. We ordered the lobster garlic noodles, and they were amazing. They didn't skimp on the lobster either. There were big chunks of real lobster throughout the dish, along with spinach and garlic noodles. Definitely one of my favorite entrées of the night. I also tried the Key Lime Cider, and I liked that they let me sample it before ordering. It ended up being really refreshing and exactly what I was looking for. For dessert, we shared the brownie cookie topped with ice cream. Oh my God. I don't even like chocolate like that, and it was amazing. Yard House has never really disappointed me, but this visit was especially good. I don't know if we were just starving or if the chef was having an exceptional night, but kudos and hats off to the kitchen. Parking was easy too. Levels 3 and 4 of the garage were free, so there was no need to pay or get anything validated. Overall, everything was smooth from start to finish. Great service, great food, easy parking, and a surprisingly short wait despite how busy it was. 10/10, highly recommend.
