It really gives you a tinge of that feeling we all try to capture when we want to dive into the world of a book. There is a large circular high top table in the center of this dark, seedy-feeling tavern. I posted up and chatted away with other Universal nerds! Love yas. I enjoyed the ambiance, the service, and loved the garlic stake pretzel. It hit the spot, fueled me for a few more hours, and protected me from Daddy Dracula and his charm. Tried the burning cheddar bites and they were just okay to me. 3.2/5 I was not too excited about these cheddar bites as I'm not the biggest fan of cheese. My sister was super excited to try them and it was a little hard finding the place as it was in the back of the land. We were confused about where to enter and entered through a semi-hidden path to the backside where we ordered the food through a window. The bites were $12 and came with a Sriracha-ranch dressing. I unfortunately did not like the Jalapeño cheddar bites. I thought it was just a ball of cheeseand the sauce didn't make it any better for me. The cheese wasn't that melted inside either making it pretty solid. Wish I tried the garlic stake but that was also nearly $13 and too expensive for 2 snacks. For $12, I think it's a miss for me. I will say my sister enjoyed the bites and thought they were decent though expensive. I had heard a lot about the garlic roll at Burning Blade so I knew it was one of my "must do's" while at EPIC Universe. The outside of this bar/snack location is really cool looking, especially when the blades ignite on fire. Upon entering, it is pretty dark and does seem like a place where ne'er-do-wells may lurk. As with most places at EPIC, it can be confusing on how to order. Do I go up to the bartender? Do I use mobile order? Apparently at the tavern, the answer can be "both". The bartender was very helpful and took my drink order and then told me to mobile order any food and pick it up at the window outside. He was funny, too, and gave the history of the Monocane mocktail I ordered. I then placed a mobile order for the Hunter's Garlic Stake. It was ready quickly and then my husband and I stood by the windmill table in the center of the tavern. I do wish there was more seating as our legs were tired after standing and walking all day. The Monocane comes in a fun plastic chemistry beaker and contains pineapple syrup, blue raspberry syrup, passion fruit syrup, Sprite and emerald prism powder. I think my first mistake was seeing the fruit flavors and thinking "juice" instead of syrup. Because while the drink looked really good - a swirling green color - it did not taste good to me at all. It was super sweet (from all the syrups) and tasted a bit fake/wrong as well (I'm sure from the multiple syrups). I tried to suck it down but I could only take several sips before I had to stop. Luckily, because it was so hot out, the bartenders had a whole bunch of iced water cups so we took those. The Garlic Stake however... that was amazing! Crunchy and loaded with garlic, and so yummy. If you're hanging out in Darkmoor, you have to stop by The Burning Blade. Standing outside to watch the "fire show" on the windmill is an absolute highlight-it's awesome to see it ignite and then roar back to life. Inside, the vibe is just as cool. I managed to snag one of the color-changing souvenir glasses, which is a fantastic keepsake. For around $22, I got a decently strong smoking cocktail and the glass to take home, honestly not a bad deal for a theme park! To eat, the Garlic Steak Bread was the perfect "bar-style" bite. It's not exactly cheap, but it's high-quality comfort food that's great for a quick, savory snack. Pro Tip: Don't believe the rumors-they do not have the same menu as Das Stakehaus, or "to-go" options from that menu. They have their own unique, separate menu which all can be to go. It is very hard to get a place to sit or even to find a place to set your food down. Definitely more of a grab and go set up. I recommend just walking up and ordering because you will get your food in the same amount of time that you will for your mobile order. The garlic steak bread with cheese sauce is VERY garlicky, I loved it and recommend it and also recommend a mint after. The burned cheese bites here just okay, I would skip them and the Siraha ranch next time around. I cannot lie. This place gets a 5/5 for numerous reasons. I have been here a few times now and loved every experience. The staff is so incredibly nice and you don't feel rushed. The drinks are fricken delicious! I have had the non-alcoholic Monocane in the souvenir beaker! Super refreshing and such a fun drink for kids and non-drinkers. Came here for the Hunter's Garlic Stake since I've seen it on a bunch of TikToks and reels. It was a super garlicky pretzel and it was AMAZING. When you walk in, the atmosphere is cold and dark, much like what you'd expect from an old medieval style tavern. Seriously, entering through the doors felt like traveling through time, except for the modern registers and taps of course. A character approached my wife and me and explained the different creatures to look out for. The most memorable was the chorpion: a cross between a chicken and a scorpion. Another was a leech that wouldn't let go, and his favorite trophy on the wall was the one on the far left. The smallest creature on there, which was a freshwater siren. I knew this was a premier snack/ drink spot to stop at in Epic Universe, but did not realize it'd become one of my favorite of those spots in the whole park! The Burning Blade Tavern is spooky and dark and ominous and oh so cool. Yes, the windmill does literally catch on fire several times an hour, so the "burning blade" part of the name is genuine. It's a pretty neat stunt and worth hanging out to see. And once you walk inside, the ghouls come out to party. There are various table to stand at, a bar to order drinks, and monster heads decorating the walls- seriously. They recommend you order on the app, and if you want food that's the only option to get it. You can order drinks at the bar if that's all you're going for, however. One of the other main reasons we stopped here was to try the Monocane Mocktail- the electric green drink inspired by the one Mr. Invisible takes in the old classic movie to turn invisible. It's a great nonalcoholic option that you can also get in a novelty plastic beaker glass that you get to keep. You can get it in a regular cup too for a little cheaper, but that just takes away some of the fun. Many have said the mocktail tastes similar to a baja blast, and I would agree. It's definitely super sugary but a really great tasting drink. We also tried the infamous Hunter's garlic stake pretzel and really enjoyed it. It's more of that thick German pretzel style, and it was loaded with garlic and delicious to eat and ward off any lurking vampires. ;) The only possible problem I could see with this place is in the food ordering system. You order on the app and the only place to pick up your food is the outside pickup window. I was very excited to try the Hunter's Garlic Stake as an avid garlic lover, but maybe there is a line I can't cross. I love the theming/shape of the pretzel and it was definitely very garlicky. The sauce it came with was cold, so it didn't pair well with the nicely warm pretzel. I believe the garlic they have on the pretzel is still more raw, which really packs a garlic punch to your tastebuds. The Internet food review are accurate, the $11.99 Hunter's Garlic Stake is absolutely worth it. I normally don't like pretzels at all at parks because they're hard, bland, and a rip off. This one however, is much different. The dipping sauce, and flavors are perfect. I will say it is a little weird, that you order drinks at the bar, but not food. To order food you must go onto the app and place the order, then they'll start your food order. For the drink, I tried the $12 Monocane (dat green drank). There's no alcohol in it, but it does look great for pics. I probably wouldn't order this again, but I did enjoy the flask and bubbly experience. A/C is BLASTED in here. We had seen the Garlic Stake on social media, so we had to try it...and the Cheese Bites sounded good, so we added that to our order. Wow!! What a treat! We will stop here every time we visit. Their drinks were great and the food was so much better. I would say probably my favorite in the park. They at times have a character walking around, talking to people, teaching you the toast of the village and more. The bartenders are always in character as well. For food you need to head outside, order on the mobile app and pick up your food. We went during the previews and the tables were so wobbly if you put even the slightest pressure on the side, it would completely fall over. I'm not sure if that was intended or if they were already broken but I almost flipped tables on accident a couple of times. I also hate the seats. They are hard and actually left deep grooves in the back of my legs and our friends legs. They are not comfortable at all. My only other issue is no one is cleaning the tables. People are being messy and dirty (which shame on them), they are not taking their trash to the trash can, they just leave it on the tables. First and foremost, clean up after yourself. Like come on, don't be messy. But also no one is wiping tables. The tables are sticky and full of crumbs and trash. The second time we came here we were able to grab a table by the bar and it was full of trash, pushed over to the side. This is by far my favorite bar in Epic Universe! If you love spooky things, you will be obsessed with this bar! The atmosphere in here is incredible and the drinks are so well-themed. My favorite cocktail is the Pure of Heart (it comes with the coolest presentation)! They also have great snacks. I would recommend mobile ordering food on the app, rather than ordering at the bar. I was so excited to visit The Burning Blade Tavern at Epic Universe and it did not disappoint!! When you first walk in, yours eyes have to adjust especially in the daytime since it's dark inside. That's a great adjustment on a hot day, especially the A/C inside. However, it is small inside so on a busy park day, it may be difficult to even get inside. Most of the tables are standing only inside with a few sit down ones so keep that in mind if you want to sit, and relax. They also have a live actor who interacts with everyone inside that hunts monsters and he was a great addition to make it feel even more immersive! I decided to order the grilled chicken stake from the mobile order kiosk and pickup on the outside window. There is a few seats outside as well as railing to prop your stuff on that is shaded while you enjoy a snack. The food was cooked quickly and pickup was a breeze. Now the grilled chicken stake was a fantastic snack! It was well priced at around 12 dollars, and it included a stake of grilled chicken, a large pita, chopped lettuce, and a really spicy but flavorful green salsa type sauce sauce, and a tzatziki type sauce. It had a great kick but it was also refreshing on a hot day. The portion size was also fantastic especially for the price. I would definitely order again! One cannot miss detail is when stepping outside of the tavern, you must see the windmill burning up which occurs every 15 minutes. read more

A fun themed bar hidden at the back of the park. This tavern makes great drinks, but there may be a line. The lines are a little chaotic, and food is all ordered on the app. I think the best food offering was the garlic stake, which is a breadstick shaped as a wooden stake. The price point was higher than I have paid at other spots in universal . Basically a portion of a slider cheeseburger for the price of a regular burger. 15 small potato chips. Sme. The garlic pretzel was really good Didn't have a drink but soda was good . Other eating or burger options are better at Universal. read more

If you want to stand after walking all day, this is a great spot. They have almost no tables when there is room for them. Super poor design and experience. Highly recommend any other spot. read more

I got the spicy cheese balls, and despite them being completely dyed black, They were pretty tasty. The theming of the Tavern was dark and cozy, and the burning windmill was incredible. However the inside was pretty small. My family got the burgers and they were tinier than you would have thought from the picture, but still tasted phenomenal. Weird service with the pick up window not marked and on the other side of the building, but it worked out. read more

It's dope. I can't describe how great this place is enough. Food and the my only weakness cocktail are incredible. Don't miss it.

This bar is SUPER cool looking inside & out. The burning windmill is stunning. Inside I was a little thrown off by some of the monster heads but that's ok because they were cool none the less. The bartenders are AMAZING! They are super nice and helpful. I will also say the garlic steak (pretzel) was so warm and soft. It was very fresh. The boysenberry Meade is bright and tangy, very rich with many layers of sweet, tart flavors. The Moncane cocktail is almost too sweet, but it is refreshing! BTW, it comes in a REALLY cool beaker that you can keep. Not sure how long that will last so grab one while you can. By now I'm sure your wondering why I only gave it 3 stars.. if you order food, be prepared for a ridiculously long wait. Food is currently only available at the outdoor pickup window but you have to use mobile order. Where it is picked up outside on the right-hand side of the patio of the restaurant. The door to go out to the patio where you pick-up your food sticks VERY badly. Even after seeing many people struggle with it, I still had to get help opening it. After ordering we were notified within 15 minutes that our order was ready. Upon heading outside, we found that the line wraps out past the patio exit, around the side of the building, past the walkway and ends believe it or not near the entrance to the bar. Also... the line is COMPLETELY in FULL sun. No shade whatsoever. If only we had had some notice or warning we would be standing in full sun waiting for over a half hour for 2 drinks, 2 sodas and a pretzel we might have chosen differently or atleast ordered our drinks at the bar instead. I will definitely be back and hopefully the ordering situation will be rectified. read more

the service is terrible. we walked in as a recommendation from our VIP tour and the employees were just sitting back and talking. I had to ask someone where do we order to get food. we had one gentleman help us and explain where to order food and drinks, but the rest or the staff just stayed back as the other staff let him handle all the people coming in. read more
