I had a great experience with Leander Modern Dentistry. What I like most is how clean and safe the entire environment appears and how modern and high tech. their office seems to look and feel. All the staff members are very friendly and very professional and seems to be very knowledgeable in what they do. My initial evaluation was only for digital x-rays by the doctor and a staff member who later told me that my entire dental exams was good and that I just needed some scaling and some deep teeth cleaning for both the right and left side of my dentition. I have already completed deep cleaning on the right side of which i am very pleased with the result and have an appointment to clean the left side early week of November 2023. We went there because Dr. Brett Dyke moved to this clinic and my family had a great experience with him as a Dentist before, however I will not be returning and changed to another clinic. Too Expensive, not really transparent with the bills which left us overpaying a bunch. We thought we had paid for the whole treatment but next visit we discovered we had to pay thousands more to continue. A few months later we started receiving some refunds because we overpayed a lot beforehand. Refunded close to $2000 so far. I guess our insurances got involved with the billing later and found we had paid too much? In my opinion, this is not a Clinic I would recommend. I've certainly moved on to another. read more

Absolute crooks! Great dentists but horrible office staff and practices! Front desk attendants could also do well with a customer service etiquette training course. Recently had to reach out for a cleaning as I'm in the area for work and not available to see my normal dentist which is out of state. This office Advised I needed a "new state of the art method" of deep cleaning as they stated my teeth were bad. They are not in anyway. I just need a routine cleaning. No other issues. I have perfect teeth n oral hygiene. They had the dentist see me, run X-rays and scans, put me in the chair, and THEN came in to tell me (upon my request only to speak to someone about costs, etc) the cost was going to be almost $2k for a deep cleaning!!! $2k for a cleaning IS INSANE!!! Horrible. From the tech who did not know how to perform x-rays (he was a nice kid though) to the sniffling front desk staff, to the dentist - Yejin Hwang - who would state something and then just sit there for two minutes, to the drab room, it was awful. Due to the company I work for being bought, I had to use the new insurance since my favorite dentist - Dr. Tittany N of Renken on Williams in Georgetown - is not in network. After x-rays and the dentist doing an exam, after waiting in the chair for five minutes, they say I need a deep cleaning and it will cost $744. I have seen dentists regularly and not one said I need a deep cleaning and they performed bi-annual regular cleanings. I said I did not want to pay the $744 for a deep cleaning, can I please just get a regular cleaning. They said NO, my insurance does not allow for that. I just got off the phone with my insurance (BCBS of Tenn.) and they said that is nonsense, the insurance does cover a regular cleaning no matter what the dentist said she saw. By the way, the depth readings are so subjective, she even told the young tech to change some numbers after her examination willy nilly. Crooks. STAY AWAY! read more

Wife and I have been going to this location for the past 18 months All of a sudden a routine 6 month cleaning becomes a $400 cleaning since they said I needed a deep Cleaning, this was last week when I went in for standard check which all they did was a pocket check, no X-rays no checking each tooth, even though I said I was having issue on on side of my mouth. Wife goes today and guess what they refuse to do a standard cleaning as they stat d she needs a deep cleaning at $200 today and $200 on the next visit. They are grabbing for any money they can squeeze from you. Recommend researching more before booking an appointment there read more

Was a patient here for 2 years. According to my insurance they are in network and despite my visit (which was processed successfully 6 mths ago) they now claim they will not take my insurance and cancelled my appointment. I just spent an hour going back and forth between insurance and the rather rude front desk girls - ultimately, the doctors get reimbursed more money for the same procedure if the patient has PPO vs HMO, therefore my appointment is not worth their time. I am extremely satisfied with Leander Modern Dentistry. On my very first visit I needed quite a bit of work and was concerned about the financial implications. After my initial X-rays and exam the price that I was given was over $1,500 out of pocket less than my previous dentist. I have been treated by Dr. Dyke, Dr. Kao, and Dr. Mamajiwala in my recent visits. I have received top quality and compassionate care at every visit. The hygienist, medical assistants, office staff, and office manager Lee Ann are all amazing. I highly recommend Leander Modern Dentistry and Orthodontics to anyone. If you need emergency dental care or routine maintenance work give them a chance. I'm so happy with this office that I have referred my mother who will now be seeing them for her care. dr. brett dyke is great; practice is horrible. after years of perfect appts, they said i needed $400 deep cleaning. explained didn't have money, they refused to do a normal cleaning and put me out! i tried to schedule a normal cleaning appointment but they refuse and demanded a full $400 procedure or nothing! they won't let me talk to dr. dyke... appt coordinator is a nazi. now scared to return for fear of reprisal, so have to change dentists... do not recommend. read more

I came in for a deep cleaning (scaling and root planing) and was really impressed with the level of care. The hygienist explained each step, made sure I was comfortable, and the process was much easier than I expected. The cost was about $250 per half mouth after insurance, and it has been worth every penny--my gums feel healthier, the bleeding has stopped, and the inflammation is gone. I was referred to the periodontist who recommended a crown lengthening or complete removal with implants, all for a minor gum infection. I drove 45mins to my old dentist to get a gum cleaning and a medicated mouthwash that cleared the infection. This place will try to rob you and the "specialist" act like they have no time to explain why and how. I'm giving an extra star because the assistants and staff were extremely helpful in explaining the very unnecessary procedures I was recommended. Thankfully I got a second opinion. read more

Unethical practices. This office tries to upsell you into unnecessary treatments. All I wanted was my regular exam and cleaning which is paid for by my dental insurance. They refused to clean my teeth unless I upgraded to a deeper cleaning for another $260. There is a high turnover of dentists, which is not a good sign. So far, so good!They did an evaluation of my teeth and some digital x-rays at the initial appointment, and then I came back the following week for a gingival scaling (a bit intense!) to set my gums back onto a healthy track. The staff was very efficient, I was checked in quickly and taken to see the dentist with hardly any wait time. Every person in the staff I encountered was sweet and seemed to genuinely be happy and enjoy their job. I had four fillings and a cleaning. I want to say I was in and out in about two hours which is amazing because I have been trapped at some offices for longer for less services. My dentist although I can't remember her name was sweet and fast. My hygienist (Sierra) was also fun to be around and very efficient! I'm thankful I finally found a office I can trust. read more

I had a bad experience with this place. Was looking to get a Dentist closer to my home and thought I would try them since they offered a new patient cleaning and exam for $59. After the exam but not the cleaning ,was presented with the price of all the work I needed & if I "join" their program, I would get a break on the price. They would not honor the $59 new patient special,citing that was for "healthy" gums & teeth! Basically it was a bait & switch. So beware that they will most likely tell you that the new patient special does not apply to you! read more

The staff is all generally nice and helpful. The office is clean, modern, and convenient to my home. However, the front office communication leaves something to be desired -- on multiple occasions I was told I'd receive a call back and then didn't. You also need to be hypervigilant about checking your bill -- I realize this can be an effect of confusing insurance policies, but there's times where what I was quoted didn't align with what I was charged. read more

Avoid this practice at all costs! They will scam you into saying you need a gingival scaling or deep cleaning and charge you to rinse your mouth out and use fluoride, even if you have insurance. I was seen a month ago and was told I need to pay $500 for a cleaning even though my insurance covers cleanings. The charges they tacked on were OUTRAGEOUS! I left and then spoke to Leanne, the office manager. She said to come back in, and they will do the basic cleaning covered by insurance. 2 weeks later, I come in.. The front desk girl says you need to pay $200 for gingival planning. I said I only wanted the basic cleaning. Leanne then came over and didn't even talk to me directly. She was completely rude and told the girl at the desk that it's unethical not to do the planing, so we will do it for free this time, but that I shouldn't be getting it for free. She never ever looked at me or spoke to me. I said, "Are you Leanne?" She said yes. I said, "we went over this on the phone." She then walked away, and as I was waiting, I began talking to another woman who had been waiting for over an hour to be seen. She was an elderly woman and said it was her first time there because she had a change of insurance. She said she didn't want a deep cleaning, and she hoped they didn't try to charge her like they did me. I told her my experience and that I am switching insurance to a better one in hopes they cover more. Leanne then came into the waiting room and very rudely called me into her office. I sat down, and she literally stood over me, yelling not to talk to other people in the waiting room. I was like, "At you kidding me?" We were talking about insurance, and secondly, it's a free country, and I can talk to whomever I want. She was yelling and being so rude that I got up and walked out. I have never seen such an unprofessional practice. The fact that they charge you so much for things that should be covered by insurance is insane. Then, to have the office manager Leanne act like a complete lunatic yelling at clients like they are a child is beyond me. I'd look for a family practice and stay away from Leander Modern Dentistry. This business was by far the most unprofessional, rude experiences I have ever encountered. I called in because I was in excruciating pain and wanted a same day appt. They gave me an appt for 6 hours later and I asked to see if there was anything sooner. She put me on hold and rudely came back and said that I should be grateful that I can get seen at all. She did not empathize with my pain, and later told me that I should just go to the ER I asked her (office manager Lee Ann) why she would tell me that and she said because of the way I was acting, asking for an earlier appt, they were refusing to see me and that I probably had an infection instead of politely telling me that would call me if there was anything earlier or sympathize with my pain or give me recommendations of any medicine to take in the meantime she was rude, started screaming at me through the phone and told her I should have been appreciative of the first appt they gave me. I am beside myself right now. They do not belong in our community. Horrific service. read more

I was looking for a new dentist office and they were able to schedule me in within 2 weeks of calling. Dr Farrar has a gentle hand and made sure I was comfortable during my crown placement.
