I was only ever contacted AFTER 5 pm because the "coordinator" worked from home (what she told me) and was busy with her own children. Because it was after business hours, this made it extremely difficult to call my Insurance Company and my Pediatrician to get the paperwork that we were told was necessary before we could "Move Forward". Once I would get in touch with said people, they assured me that they had already sent the information that was requested. (Making it seem like I was being impatient.) We were given the run around regarding our insurance coverage, our son's diagnosis and their availability. Meanwhile, she was attempting to schedule my son's therapies DURING school hours and when I told her it was not possible, she asked if we could change his school schedule. We hadn't even had the chance to USE this companies SERVICES because they kept dropping the ball on our initial admission. Suffice it to say, just the EXPERIENCE I have had with LEAPS and Beyond is BEYOND unacceptable.

I find there is no good bedside manner. We saw Margaret Lowe today in Port Orchard, and what a doozy. Loud, shrill, and annoying. I tried talking with her about vaccines and she kept talking over me, giving me basic scripted information, and basically scoffed at me when I showed my concern. We are absolutely another brick in the wall at this establishment, and I'll be on the look out for a more compassionate facility.

Fewer MD doctors are here than when Barbra Malich ran the place. Many good drs are long gone. You cannot call the front desk of your clinic, your call gets diverted to a que that is a long wait. The calls are answered in Bremerton even for clinics far away from Bremerton. So the staff that used to know you and whatever situation they are dealing with at their site cannot be the ones determining the patient flow. It is literally out of their hands. The best receptionists are gone.... Long waits to see a dr. No one helps you to get referrals made. The great receptionist teams they once had are replaced by a phone bank situation of sorts centralized into one location. And a computer takes the first call. Most of the medical care is given by PAs and ARNPs now. There is no choice. The two drs in Port Orchard atm are too arrogant and closed to listen to patients even if the complaints or of new or worsening conditions, especially if their cases are complex and serious and require more careful monitoring. Visits are limited to just one complaint, and less than 5 minutes. The doctors do not listen or examine patients throughly enough it seems to me and I am not the only patient reporting this. The reputation of PCHS has declined because of the way things are run on the medical side at PCHS. I will say the dental services are much better than the.medical services PCHS offers. I am leaving the medical part, because I have found a much better doctor elsewhere that truly cares about and addresses my complicated case needs. I feel unsafe being a medical patient here with this doctor as my pcp. My life feels jeopardized by her lack of action. All this is my observations as a patient who regrets choosing to try PCHS medical services once again.

There's much more to say than this, but it is a start. First, I do not like leaving negative…read morereviews; usually there's more to a story than a "one star" review. However, because of one -- for lack of a better term -- cataclysmic event, I cannot and will not leave any more than one star. However, there were many great things about the company. So please read the review because it is my hope they improve, and that others may be helped by them and the positive aspects of the organization: the idealism, the good intentions at the outset, etc. It is sad because they staffed many great, intelligent folks with compassion up to a point. Reasonable plans were made, but not fully executed; rather most time was spent formulating/changing plans or our kids and family building rapport with new staff. That's all we are willing to say. Our family is now personally afraid of the company and traumatized by the experience. I'd say in consumers with complex or refractory cases with significant external team collaboration needs, perhaps consider other options, or know at least in our case we were confidently presented several plans but ultimately were failed/harmed spectacularly. They just could not execute the plans, and someone there -- at least one BCBA and we think in the end management -- had this sort of consumer blaming thing going on. They could make as many mistakes as they pleased but consumers had to be some sort of perfect, angelic saints at all times in their own homes and roll with all kinds of chaos but have none of their own fallibilities. These folks truly seemed to feel completely entitled at key times to criticize their clients who are going through unspeakably difficult circumstances. It was as though we were expected to thank them for paying their staff well, and because of that the issues we brought forth, or any frustration we felt, was a) taken personally when it wasn't personal and b) ridiculous. Some issues would have been understandable so long as they were eventually resolved and were staff and or management "attitude" not present; sadly, that was not always the case. Perhaps what happened to us is rare, because if not I do not know how they remain in business other than that theirs is a captive clientele base desperate to help their kids. ABA has long waitlists which can lead to providers/managers viewing clients as replaceable or like they are employees of the company. It's a providers market. There's always a waitlist. There's always someone who might not speak up about true issues in care, or who will be better able to subvert their pain in a way that they didn't feel "tainted" their staff. Unfortunately, quality healthcare doesn't work that way, and grave harm was done. You've got to have problem solving conversations when the stakes are this high. We wish staff well. They didn't fulfill their mission -- read the statement -- in our case, but I wish them well in continuing to try.

They didn't give him any pain meds for a whole day when he has a prescription to take them every four hours. He said his first day there he just laid in bed all day. There were no group sessions scheduled. So how is that helping someone's mental health when all as they do is laying in bed by themselves all day? Why is this place still open and not shut down. I've heard from people that used to work there that the place is terrible and they would never recommend anyone to go there. If you have a loved one suffering with mental health issues and you have an option to have them go somewhere else take it.
