And I don't think the charge is in alignment with the service provided. There were no trash bags in place. Rugs were left unwashed and not put back in place, etc. Ironically they charge $55 per hour for first cleaning, which means reoccurring cleaning their rate is higher. Yes these days it's tough for small businesses to survive. But that doesn't mean customers got money rained on their head. Update: the owner explained that the rate is based on total sqft. This is nonsense! We have four bedrooms but two were not cleaned. Plus we always have regular cleaning services and it always takes them four hours or about $200 to clean it. And this business owner decides to charge us $265 just because we live in a house (and remember we only need 2/4 bedrooms to be cleaned) and not based on the actual cleaning area and total time needed? We were told by the cleaners that our house is well-maintained and they didn't have to scrub anything so total hours spent will be 4 hours. Owner is saying that although it only takes four hours but you need to pay $265. Does not make sense. Plus I know the SAME technicians when they clean my friend's townhome, they spend the SAME amount of time four hours in total and they charge less. Just because we live in a house not a townhome, it doesn't mean we have to pay more for the same cost incurred to the owner. It's not like our house is a rabbit hole or dirty anything. The technicians clearly said the place is well maintained and they didn't have to spend any extra effort. Then why do I have to pay much more at the hourly rate close to $70 to have the same cleaning service and hours? WHY? This is outrageous. I'll never do business with a service provider whose pricing is not transparent. Last time I used them for deep cleaning two years ago before tenants moved in, the tenants complained the cleaning was not thorough at all and requested for a refund. I contacted the owner right after the complaint, sent her the pics and she did not accept the request for a refund or offer re-cleaning. Nonetheless, I gave them another try which is totally idiotic on my side. I chose to not post a bad review after the first disappointing experience because I don't want to be harsh on small businesses. However this time the experience is even worse and even disrespectful. Who on the earth can explain to me why I have to pay more for the same service and hours? Why my own lifestyle (living in a house instead of a townhome) has anything to do with your operating costs while you use the same people, same hours and same cleaning equipment? Then why do I have to pay more? Explain to me. Choose wisely at your own risk. Honesty in business is underrated.

My friends tried to schedule follow-up cleanings, but the company declined to schedule them until after the initial cleaning was completed. This company is only interested in committing to initial cleaning services because they charge $80 plus more for the first cleaning than they state they will charge for the follow-up cleanings. Then, after the initial cleaning is paid, they will suddenly not have any availability to conduct follow-up cleanings at the lower price quoted by them. The arrival window we were given was between 9-10 AM. Though we were told that we would be notified 30 minutes prior to the team's arrival, we didn't receive any texts. Today, Esperanza arrived alone at around 9:55 AM and said it would be $150 for 3 hours. Though we expected 2 cleaners for 1.5 hours, we agreed. Esperanza told us later after 2 hours of cleaning, that the kitchen and living room would take 2 hours instead of 1, so our total would change to $200. This was a little unexpected but we agreed to this too. However, she finished after a total of 3 hours of cleaning, she didn't need the additional 4th hour. But when we were about to pay, she charged us $200. We ended up paying $180 but she did maybe an extra 5 minutes at most, not a full hour, for the extra $30 we paid. Esperanza was nice and she cleaned our place well. We just weren't very satisfied with how what we agreed on, and expected, kept changing. Also, I'm not very sure if they take out the trash or not. When I asked, Esperanza agreed, but she looked a little surprised, so I guess this is one extra thing I was left wondering about.

However, I would give the office 1 to 2 Stars. I've used Maid in Orange off and on over the past 4 - 5 years and often recommend them to friends. For this particular visit, I booked one technician for three hours, with an arrival window of 2:00 - 5:00pm. Both the website and the reminder email make it VERY clear that this is an "arrival window" and not the actual hours that the technicians will be in your home. So, I planned my day around being home at 2:00. You can imagine my surprise when my teenage son called me at 1:25pm to tell me that someone was at the door to clean our house! For this particular visit, I did not want my entire house cleaned, I only wanted specific rooms/areas done. Because Karen arrived when I wasn't home (and because my son didn't know which areas of our home I wanted her to clean) she ended up cleaning and moving things that I didn't want her to touch. And thus, 15 minutes of the time that I paid for went to waste. Again, this was NOT Karen's fault, she said the office sent her. Honestly, I would have let this go and not written a review at all, however, I called the office at 1:30pm two days ago and still haven't received a call back. Also, in the past, I have always received reminder texts in the days leading up to my cleaning appointment and usually receive a text or call to let me know that the team is on the way....this time, I did not receive any of those texts. Perhaps there has been a change in ownership or office management??? I can recommend the Maid in Orange technicians but am disappointed with the customer service. When a customer calls your business to let you know that you've made a mistake, a returned call is the bare minimum.
