The husband told the wife to search my house, and that was when I told them to get out. The truth was I had mistakenly given them to a person who had picked up her dog earlier. As soon as they left, I remembered who it was, gave them a call. Got the toys back and delivered them. I have been in business here for 18 years, with nothing but success. All the vets in town give me good references, and I take care of the dogs of two of them. It is too bad that a review like this is out there, as it is mostly not true. I was asked what type of dog she was and as soon as I mentioned that she was 12% German Shepherd, I was told they wouldn't take her. End of discussion. I was stunned. When I tried to continue the conversation, maybe just to ask if she had a recommendation, the woman was short, rude and I was essentially hung up on.

We paid her and gave her a tip. Our dog seemed slightly more shy than normal, but he's a shy dog anyways. 500 yards down the road there's pools of blood in the backseat of my car. This woman handed us back a damaged and hurt dog without saying anything. Immediately we return to try and address this and at least get some bandages. Understanding that accidents happen but frustrated that this info was not disclosed as it should've been. There was not more than 5 minutes between us leaving and returning. We called the business and nobody answered. When we returned no one was there and nobody answered the phone, middle of the day. The dog is still bleeding actively. It's obvious that this woman couldn't have been oblivious to this fact. There was simply too much blood. We wait around the place for fifteen minutes. Occasionally knocking or calling the business to no avail. They gave us a damaged dog, that they hurt, and then promptly ignored us! We will never come back here again. They hurt our dog then took our money. On top of that, they really didn't do a good job grooming at all. My dog is hurt and I am lied to and taken advantage of. Take care of your dog and stay away from this place.

I believe that this veterinarian may be incompetent. My mother brought her 12 year old cat to Dr…read moreCurll because it was not eating, had diarrhea, and was losing weight. Dr. Curll diagnosed the cat as being "constipated" and gave the cat an enema. The cat was then released back to my mother with a prescription for an appetite stimulant. The cat died five days later. My mother was devastated and wanted to understand how her cat died, so she asked me to help her find out. I requested and received the blood work and procedural notes from Oak Bay Animal Hospital and to me it appears that the cat was not given proper care. As a physician, I did not understand why Dr Curll had not done an X-Ray or ultrasound to determine an underlying cause for the cat's "constipation." I could see immediately from the blood report that the cat had an infection, and the cat had a very high amylase level. These test results would indicate pancreatitis, and it's serious. Dr. Curll, however did not do any follow-up tests. She did not do an X-Ray or ultrasound. She did not prescribe any antibiotics. I believe this is simply negligence, or laziness, or both, and that it resulted in the unnecessary death of my mother's cat. After speaking with my mother about her experience with this veterinarian, I noted a number of red flags that indicated to me this is not a good place to take a pet. I have also recommended that my mother find another veterinarian. Unfortunately, we found out too late.
