Cloud had a tough time with his grooming and bath at first, but with care and patience he now does very well. Cloud is now 3 years old and we would not think of taking him anywhere else for day care, grooming or boarding. There have been times of emergency and RDR has gone above and beyond making sure we had nothing to worry about when my husband and myself ended up in the hospital. RDR took such good care of Cloud. He just loves it there and gets so excited when we pull up. I think if he ever got lost he would find RDR before he would find home!

I know they're very very understaffed and unlike other retail stores they have the responsibility of taking care of animals on top of stocking shelves and customer service. I also understand that they honestly do the best they human can under the circumstances. sometimes not all of the cages are in perfect condition but they always care and do what they can. I always find what I need and I always get my questions answered expertly. They're a very knowledgeable group who I know don't receive paid training for what they know. It's all sought out on their own time and of their own volition. The groomers are horridly underrated, they punch out high quality grooms for a fraction of the cost of a personal groomer! Try getting that kind of cut at another petco or chain store! they most do shave- downs! These ladies do nothing but the best and treat each dog as if their own. I highly encourage you to go here. They know what they're talking about and have a lot of heart. These are underpaid, caring individuals who suffer the indignities of a gross job because they genuinely want to make a difference in the lives of animals. And i think that's a noble cause.

I usually pay for a groom while he's there so he's also always so fresh and clean. I take it as an excellent sign that he's always happy to go into the office. He greets everyone with tail wags and kisses. He's a very reactive pup in many other settings so this feels special to see him so happy to greet folks.

Boxer's regrettably are short lived, Skeeter made it to 8 just as his predecessor, Rocky. Gus, is boxer #3 and he too started here as a pup and calls this his second home! We don't travel like we used to, but the kennel's owner's and staff treat the animals like their own. I have never had to encourage anyone of our dog's into the reception area...and even though it hurts my feelings, they nearly charge into their kennel area pulling a staff member along at the end of their lead. No sentiment for us from the dogs. They pay strict attention to dietary concerns, vaccinations and will administer medications if needed. Grooming is available and done with the same care as kenneling. There's a reason this establishment is repeatedly voted Kitsap County's Best. THEY ARE!

I am embarrassed for this firm. And for the poor groomer the owner sent out today…read more 10 days ago, I submitted an online request for an appointment for my two dogs. A few days later, Aloha responded with a text message saying my request was approved, and that someone would reach out to me to schedule. Nobody did. So we took our dogs elsewhere. Today, a lovely young lady arrived in the Aloha grooming van. I felt so bad for her, having to explain that we were never notified, and that we'd already sought services elsewhere. She was so polite and apologetic. She also said, "This happens a lot." Which tells me all I need to know. To the owner: Seriously, do better! You can't just show up on a random Saturday and expect your customers to adjust to your schedule. You have to contact and CONFIRM with your customers any appointments. You could have saved yourself the cost, and your employee the embarrassment, with simple communication effort. Business is intentional, not a hobby to do casually. Figure out how to communicate better before your business ends up in the toilet. Or close down now and spare us all from the effects of your inability to provide basic customer service. Sad that I have to write this, but others need to know this happened, and happens often.

I had a golden retriever before him, and I have never had as amazing an experience at a dog daycare, boarding, grooming, etc place as Big Valley. It is evident the staff absolutely love animals and put such care and dedication into ensuring every dog, cat, etc is not only safe, but having the bestest of times. I'm moving to the Boston area, and one of things that makes it hardest to leave Poulsbo is that Pippin is parting ways with one of his favorite places in the world. I'll forever and ever be grateful for everyone at Big Valley. I broke my leg a few summers ago and they were SO accommodating for me and Pippin, it melted my heart. Keri, Winter, Emma, Tapanga, Dayna, Nicole, Emily, Sarah, Hailey, Ava, Grace, Cal, Dylan, Megan, Keeley, Gideon, Meadow, and anyone else I missed - thank you all SO MUCH for being the best extended family for Pippin. You'll forever be part of Pippin's pack, along with all of his other furry buddies there. We love y'all, and honestly I'd recommend Big Valley Pet Resort over any other place I've been (even non pet related). They are the best, and I just hope Pippin's new place in Boston is at least almost as good :). Forever in our hearts.

First you have to bring your dog in for a daytime stay, then you have to come back for an overnight stay. And the meet and greet is good for only one year, so you have to come back and do it all over again for the same dog, which is absurd.
