Do not have your pets stay here. Our dogs were soaked in urine. Nervous and miserable when we picked them up. They don't take dogs outside of small pen so dogs poop and pee in their kennels. Who knows how often the kennels are cleaned if at all when our dogs boarded. There is a reason you can't see the kennels on their website amd when ypu pick your dogs up. The place reeks of urine. We have used this kennel for 8+ years. They have taken care of our terrier most of his life. They are attentive and take care of him well. They have quite a loyal clientele for large &small dogs. We have been here several times and noticed a smell or just low cleanliness of the location which we kind of wrote off. We always had our dogs come back dirty and smelly but would have groomed shortly after. This last time our dogs came home caked in urine and feces. I called to ask what happened but the person who answered the phone told me that it was common and I should have done a grooming package. If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. My sisters put their 4 pets ( 2 cats and 2 dogs ) for 5 days. When they went to pick them all up and got them home they proceed to give the dogs a bath. Upon starting to give their husky a bath to clean him up they noticed blood and an open wound. They took him to the vet and it ended up being extremely infected with Green pus coming out of it. When they reached out to the kennel they said they had "no notes on his file". Something happened to their dog and NO ONE from this place reaches out to inform them or even left a note on his file. This is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. Do not keep your dog at this place if you want them to come back with bloody infected wounds. I will not recommend this place for your 4 legs babies, it's a horrible place, will never come back this place again . So, a Year ago we boarded our dogs here, when we picked them up they were soaking with their own urine. So we thought okay, let's give this place another chance. We boarded our dogs again. So we picked up our dogs after we come back from our trip, both of them were so sick, as soon as we got home they were having diarrhea with blood in it non stop, vomiting and they both were shaking. We took them to ER that night to be treated . I cried watching my dogs that so sick. Please stay away from this kennel. read more

I read the positive reviews, and so I recommended McDonald's Kennels for my family member who needed a place to take his dogs at the last minute for the weekend. I went to visit the dogs and drop off food, and I was honestly horrified at the place. It smelled awful, it was loud as can be, and his dogs were shaking and crying, probably because it was freezing in there and so chaotic. They came home smelling AWFUL, and two of the dogs are rescues with PTSD, and I know it probably worsened their fear of being left places. I felt so guilty for recommending this place without seeing it first. Definitely do not suggest you take your pets here. read more

I will never use this place again. After leaving my dog for 5 days during our Christmas vacation last year. Not only did they lose our &75 dog bed and try to give us some cheap used bed upon return. Leaving your animals for a period of time is one of the hardest things to do. I left my dog and two cats at this kennel to be boarded for two weeks. I was so nervous as I've never been without my animals in the four years I've had them. The staff is super welcoming and made me feel a little bit more at ease upon drop off. I even called a few times throughout my vacation to check up on the animals and to be sure they were adjusting just fine. And they were! Horrible customer service. They're very rude! I used this place 3 times (only because I had just moved to the area and didn't know of any other places) and each time was progressively worse. They aren't at all friendly on the phone, acting as if you're wasting their time. The first time, my dog was there for 4 days and the total was $90. I asked if they gave a military discount and the man said yes, so I went to my car to grab my ID and when I came back, he took a whole dollar off the bill. The military discount is 25 cents a day- more of an insult than a discount if you ask me. Each time I used this place was to go visit my husband in San Diego. Each time, I got a ticket that left San Diego at 6:30 am and returned to Seattle at 9 because they require you to pick up your pet at or before 10 am. Well, the last time I boarded my dog here, my flight was delayed and I wasn't able to get back to the kennel until 10:20. I explained to the man what had happened and he said it wasn't his problem. This made me mad because I asked them not to feed my dog the morning of the pickup because she gets car sick, and the kennels lead to an outside area where the dogs can pee and poop, so there was literally zero work they had to do for my dog that morning, yet they still charged me an extra day for being 20 minutes late. The last thing I didn't like were the hours for pick up and drop off. They're only open from 8:30-5 M-Th and 8:30-3 Fri and Sat and closed on Sundays. Does this mean they aren't there to take care of the animals on Sundays? Or are they just looking for an extra buck? I understand rules are rules but this is the type of business you'd think could have a little leeway. Because of the way they treated me as a customer, I will not be using this place ever again, and I suggest you save your money. If you are looking for an amazing place to take your animals, try Kozy Kritterz. I love them because they're the best and treat your pet like family! read more

When I set my reservation to board my cat for 14 days, I was stationed overseas in Okinawa, Japan. The staff was more than accommodating. When I got to Washington, unable to keep my cat with me on base, I called several times for updates on how my cat was doing. The staff was extremely patient, gave thorough updates, and took very good care of my baby girl. Thank you, to the staff at McDonald's Kennels! Very impressed with McDonald's Kennels! We compared a lot of kennels in Snohomish and Kitsap counties and ended up using them because they were the cheapest by quite a bit. We kenneled 4 cats with them for about 4 months. They were very quick to respond to correspondence, the cats seemed very comfortable around them when we visited, they were very friendly, and professional. Despite living over 2 hours away we would certainly consider using them again! read more

I'm trying to come up with an excuse on why I have not yet wrote a review about MK yet. I don't have one. I'm kind of shocked at myself for not writing something sooner because they are so incredibly awesome and I'm so comforted knowing I can leave my shy Pomeranian with them. Starting with their website; it's very user-friendly. It displays all info needed to know. You can fill-out a new client form right there on their website, as well as book a reservation. It does not show when they are completely booked but you do get contacted if they can't take your pet in on your req days and waitlist you. They have no deposit req either and their rates are VERY reasonable. It literally does not pain me to pay for my doggies vacation while I'm trying to get away on one. You can email them your pets vaccine records to make check-in quicker but even I just presented it to them upon drop-off and check-in was very fast. Whenever I've emailed them they've been very quick to respond. I recently emailed asking availability before using their website form and the response was within minutes saying that they were available and that I didn't need to fill-out the form because they took care of it. Above and beyond; it's amazing and so easy with them! I love the kennels; it's lengthy with half of it indoors and the other half outdoors. Whenever we've arrived for drop-off or pick-up the kennels have been clean. They offer a blanket for pets who come without their beds. We've always hung a t-shirt on my Poms kennel for our scent and the employees do not mind. They are seriously so sweet and I would recommend anyone to them. read more

We kenneled our three dogs here for 11 days last month. It was our first time ever kenneling our dogs. They are older dogs (14, 8, and 6). We've always paid a house sitter, but would end up having our dogs pee in our house when we weren't home. I think they get territorial. Anyway, all our dogs did well at McDonald's! They were bathed and ready to be picked up at our agreed upon time. One of their beds got dirty and the employees washed it for us. I have taken my pet here on 3 occasions. I was impressed to find that the small dogs were kept in a different area than the big dogs. The kennels were always kept clean. The owners even let us go in the back and choose which kennel to be in. The walls of the kennels were solid preventing the dogs from seeing eachother. The small dog section was L shaped so the dogs don't actually face eachother. The customer service has always been great. read more

This is a great place to bring your pet! The property is clean and well kept, the staff is super friendly, organized and you can tell they really care about each dog. I made a reservation a couple weeks before the Thanksgiving holiday and I'm glad I did because they were full full full when I dropped my dog off. They wrote down all instructions for my dog, even though he doesn't need a whole lot but does take pain medication. We were going to be gone 6 days but I knew that we wouldn't be back in time to pick him up, so he stayed an extra night, as well as got a bath and a nail trim. Now, even with a military discount I was expecting it to cost over $200 for 7 days, a bath, and a nail trim because our dog is quiet large, but it only came out to $158! When I went to pick him up, ALL of his stuff was ready and waiting, and they knew who I was even though I had only been there once to drop him off. And when we got home he went right to sleep so he was worn out. I will ABSOLUTELY bring my dog to McDonald's Kennel again! read more

I love this kennel! I bring my dog there four days a week for doggy daycare. He gets terrible separation anxiety, but loves it here! They are all so wonderful and give me daily updates! Love this place! They were great with our dogs before and every time since! They will group play with your dog if needed and your dog is ok with that, they talk and interact with your fur kid, and treat them as if their own. We've used a couple of different kennels in the area for our olde English bulldogge. Every time he has come out skinner and stressed out for a few days. Not the case here. Great staff, clean facilities. After touring multiple kennels, they blew the competition out of the water! Owners live on site. Smaller breeds are separated from the bigger breeds. Nice play yard and you can also request walks. I chose the play yard since our pooch loves to play fetch. Had him bathed and he was in great spirits when I picked him up first thing in the am. Where my son lives there are now dogs allowed. I found McDonald's Kennel online and did some research. I found checking in was a breeze (I completed my check in over the phone from San Diego) and the staff was extremely helpful. The Kennel is in the woods off of the main highway set in a country style surroundings. The facility was extremely clean and the staff was great and the owners are the best. We visited my dog daily and was given a daily report. It was hard not having him around for 4 days. You folks took great care of him. He looked great and healthy. We made a trip out of town for four days. Took our dog there and during the interview they asked me what I wanted done with our dog if he died while we were gone...REALLY?!?!?!?!?! I have owned dogs all of my life and NEVER been asked this before. Since we were leaving to go out of town early the next morning I decided to board the dog. When walked with him to the boarding area it seemed cold to me. When I asked about the temperature I was told they kept it 55 degrees at night and 62 during the day. (YOUR KIDDING ME REALLY)....This is a terrier with no undercoat. They assured me he would be fine. We came back to a TRAUMATIZED dog who did not want to get out of my lap...even in the car. I asked about a spot on his nose that was rubbed raw. They told me he tried to bury his food which was common and that is how his nose got raw. He has NEVER tried to bury food and NEVER had a problem being boarded before. The next day after getting him home he was wheezing and having a hard time breathing. A trip to the Vet revealed he had an upper respiratory infection and is now on an antibiotic and cough medicine. The vet was VERY concerned and told us to bring him back if he got any worse. Read this review and decided for yourself if you want to leave your pet here. I will never use them again! read more
