I can't more STRONLY disagree. He will arrogantly ignore your comments about tooth sensitivity after being blocked for a procedure. Even worse ... when he comes in to "review" your teeth with the hygienist He will treat you like an "artichoke" in the chair. He will only advise the hygienist working on your teeth for him... what your dental needs are. So immensely disrespectful. I must add I am a licensed Veterinarian for the last 40 yrs. Legally... any medical professional can only advise and suggest care needed. As long as they document their record.. they are safe in caring for you as their dentist ... if you choose to wait till you want to move forward. Beware of this creep. Sadly... when I met him about 10yrs ago... in my gut... I knew he was vacuous and not my dentist. The hygienist was great for years... but ... she didn't care how I felt either... so done with her too. Having spoken now with plenty of people... I know my impressions are not alone.. certainly there will be this dentist supporters. He's very gentle, goes out of his way to answer all of your questions to your satisfaction, and ensures you're comfortable. Parking is easy, they're on time (rare for Tahoe), and Dr. Baldwin is an artist who is committed to your health and appearance. I'm 65, so I've been around long enough and in enough cities to have some good dentists and some almost callous and dishonest dentists. Dr. Baldwin stands out among the best dentists ever. They mentioned they would submit a claim to Delta Dental so I can be reimbursed for the difference, but since they're now out of network, the fees are about 225% higher. Jocelyn, the receptionist, said she would forward my concern to the office manager, though it sounds like there may not be much that can be done. They noted that they tried to call about a week before my appointment likely to confirm my appointment but I changed my phone number nearly a year ago. They said they would've told my by phone that they no longer take my insurance. My response was, they should have told me when I checked in, before my service to give me an option to move forward with them. I feel it's very unfair not to notify patients in advance when such a significant change affects billing and coverage. Unfortunately, I'll be canceling my upcoming appointments for myself and my family.

Since finding North Tahoe Dental I no longer fear going to the dentist and I actually enjoy my visits. I decided to see Dr. Pierce rather than go to my regular dentist who I didn't feel confident that she would do a decent bonding repair, as she broke an adjacent tooth while repairing a crown--resulting in me having to pay for two crowns (discount on the second, unexpected crown but still). So other than cleanings, I don't have anything else done there. I can't speak to the repair longevity as it was just done yesterday, but I can say what an awesome, meticulous job Dr. Pierce did. He is a perfectionist! I can't even tell where the chip/broken section was on the upper central incisor. The bonded section blends seamlessly with the front teeth. I highly recommend him for any cosmetic dentistry and general dentistry as well. After living 46 years in Tahoe Truckee and having some less than stellar experiences with other dentists in town and the north shore, I am going to switch.
