Messaged Ledford's to seek a termite inspection and quote to address my needs. A day or so later received a message back that I likely just had some swarmers that got inside and it was probably nothing to worry about as they should die quickly if I have no wood rot or water leaks, but that they'd be happy to come look. They sent a tech out who provided a quote. Seems like a professional pest control service, but their quote was higher than another company, who I decided to use. So while I can't rate the quality of their pest control service, they were professional, timely, and provided honest information to me. read more

I was a customer for 10 years. Scheduled my quarterly every three months, and annual termite. Paid right away. Scheduled easily via text right away. Very low maintenance customer. Easy Money for them. I always had my dogs boarded in cages and yard clean of dog feces before tech arrival. Caroline, the office manager has the worst customer service skills I have ever dealt with, especially for a local family owned business. I'm sure the owners don't care because they get plenty of business based on this false reputation they have. Caroline treats you like you are lucky to be a customer of theirs, almost like they are paying you to be their customer. It seems like this is also the attitude of the owners. You complain one time, they give you an attitude and make excuses like it was your fault, and that your lucky they will reschedule an appointment that they no showed and no called for. Oh and they also charged me for the appointment, when I was sitting and waiting for hours for them to come. I finally call, and the lady tells me I scheduled the wrong day and it couldn't possibly be her error. She refused to admit, even tho the system charged me for the appointment that never showed up. No apology, but instead she threatened to cancel me as a customer! She tells me I am a problem customer because 10 years ago one of their techs threatened to fight me in my own yard because I insisted that he do the outside first because my dog was already boarded and the gate was open and I needed to put her back outside for him to do the inside. He refused to listen to a simple request by the customer and got so angry he wanted to fight me. Later that day the Lady called telling me that everyone loves Tony the tech, I am the problem, and threatened to cancel me. I just apologized as the bigger person and moved on because it wasn't worth paying for a new termite bond since they refuse to transfer yours because they know they got you, which is also unethical. Years go by, and every other tech is great. They all remember me and love talking with me. They tell me that nobody likes Tony the tech and everyone has problems with him. Caroline office lady was lying. A few weeks ago I got several texts from several different numbers telling me to confirm my appointment. I confirmed through the automated one, but the office lady kept texting me to confirm. I asked her if they would still come if I didn't confirm. Well, she can't handle any form of kick back. She is on a power trip and can't talk nice to customers if they don't kiss her butt. She cancelled me, my termite bond was cancelled. I now have to pay for a new one, but she actually did me a favor. Based on all the reviews online, they don't honor termite bonds when termites and damage are found. Oh I also asked for the owner to call me back, but they never did. I also left a message asking this. Seems to full of themselves to contact a customer, they must feel it's not worth it to muster the spine because they have enough business. I'm sure they will respond to this review with their basic 1 star review response explaining how I was the problem, and spoke condescending to their staff. Nothing is further from the truth, any of their techs besides Tony would admit that. I never hung up on Caroline the office lady or demanded anything other than an apology and for her to admit fault when necessary. This is fair, an apology goes a long way. Instead she always just threatened to cancel me and hangs up on me, because she is a human being and doesn't need to be asked to admit when they wronged a customer. read more

Called in to talk to someone about how poor their performance was, and was rudely responded to by a "manager" who hung up on me. Makes it easy to not give them a second chance, and I hope you won't give them a first! Oh well. Plenty of good businesses in the Charleston area, this just isn't one of them. read more

I've been communicating with Ledford virtually for about a week and a half now due to some buzzing in the walls above and around my FROG (Family Room Over Garage). They first tried to connect me to a beekeeper, in case it was honey bees, so we could save them and not harm them. I love honey and pollination. However, it's not honey bees. Wasps could be seen going in and out around the front dormer through various cracks and crevices. Ugh. So, I scheduled an appointment for them to come out and give me the expert opinion. Hank showed up dressed to the COVID nines (face mask and shoe covers). We walked around the house, listening for any buzzing, but wouldn't you know it, they were giving us the silent treatment today, and not one single buzz could be heard. Regardless, Hank gave me his honest expert opinion on what could be done, and we left it at a virtual handshake because nobody wants to get the COVID. After they took my money for a termite inspection, they canceled me. The day they were to do the inspection there was a mixup and they left saying they can't do my house Because it is stucco. It's the same house they did last year and they never checked to see. Actually it isn't even stucco it is synthetic stucco. I have used their bug services for years which I will not do anymore. I was a customer of Ledford's for over 25 years. They had been handling multiple properties for me for several years. Recently my maintenance man discovered a termite infestation in a wall that the Ledford's inspector had no clue about despite a recent inspection. Mr. Ledford and company used every excuse in the book not to cover it. Had an encapsulation done (which they came out and helped coordinate and yet became a huge excuse to deny my bond). Zero integrity and know others who had their bond coverage denied. Don't count on your bond giving you ANY security about damage being covered. Their lack of competency is YOUR loss. Buyer beware ! Highly recommend Ledford's! Bought our home in 2017 and transferred the termite bond from original owner. Four years later, when repairing an area around our garage, and to our surprise, upon pulling back the siding the contractor found a live termite nest, with much damage all along our garage door frame. I was worried (based on another review) that our bond would not be honored, but Mr. Ledford spoke with us personally, showed empathy and professionalism, and very quickly issued us a check to cover the repair. I just happened to see this company advertised on the internet and I had to comment. I hope their integrity has improved. Many years ago to help a "good old boy" buddy of Ledford's, he wrote a termite report claiming the crawl space of a house I was selling had excessive moisture and resulting damage which proved in court to not be true. I was living out of state and his collusion with the disreputable buyer caused me many months of legal trouble. As I stated, this was years ago, but I still would avoid this company. read more

I have used Ledfords for 5 years they have been OK except for my last termite bond renewal. I had setup an appointment for Friday Afternoon at 5pm, that day the tech called and asked if he could come out earlier in the day and I could not get off work to meet him any earlier. Once the tech showed up at my house (15 minutes before the scheduled appointment) I could tell he was irritated with something. Long story short the guy looked around and said I needed to dig a trench around my house because some dirt was touching the foundation (a very little bit). I was rather baffled by the request since the house is elevated and you can clearly see the walls from inside the garage (no drywall). Called the office and they blew me off saying that is normal to need dirt moved... The next tech came out after I dug the trench and said "Hmmmm, that's odd to request digging when you can clearly see the wall from inside the garage". So now I have an unneeded trench around my house that collects water and holds it against my foundation. Needless to say I will be filling it back in. If you want the same type treatment please feel free to use Ledfords. I personally don't like that type of BS and will be taking my business to another exterminator that appreciates my business. read more
