Cannot speak to their termite control...yet. DO NOT encapsulate your crawl space w/ them. 1) They will begin work later than stated, & not show up to complete job in consecutive days (they said they'd be back "tomorrow" but then not show). 2) 1 worker hired to install moisture barrier will be drinking malt liquor while doing so, & he will spill some on floor of your garage, cover it in a towel he finds lying around, & just leave it to reek of sour alcohol. (I hope you find it sooner than a week later.) And he will leave bottle between a tree & your fence hoping no one will find it. 3) They will ask for full payment before job is complete, since office staff believes they are done, when in fact they are not. 4) Their electrician will not come when they say he will to install an outlet for dehumidifier. 5) Your vents will be haphazardly sticking out of side of your house. 6) Garbage bags you temporarily put over vents yourself will be left there as they believe this suffices as "encapsulated" -- should be insulation. 7) Owner (?) will come to set humidistat on dehumidifier, but will not know how to turn dial. Should be around 50%, but it will be set at nearly 80%. 8) Their contractor who makes crawlspace doors will not show up as stated. Nor will they use proper materials. You will find unfinished plywood w/ glued-on styrofoam bolted directly into your brick foundation. Not only will this glue not last a week (styrofoam will fall off), but holes in bricks will strip w/in a month. And it doesn't add any curb appeal to your home. 9) More than a month after your moisture barrier is "completely installed", you will discover that a pier wasn't wrapped, & that corners are falling down. 10) You will also discover many places where sunlight shines through, even though it's been encapsulated, & their technician will tell you to use your own foaming insulation to fill all gaps. 11) 4 months later, you will check on plumbing deeper in crawlspace only to find that about 1/3 of plastic isn't even bolted into foundation, relying solely on 2-sided tape, & is now falling down. There is also a giant opening that hasn't been closed up, w/ evidence of an animal walking freely from outside into crawlspace. 12) Owner (?) will often speak to you very condescendingly despite all issues noted so far. 13) Owner (?) says he will handle all issues personally, but sends a tech again. He doesn't show up on day he says. 14) Tech will ask you for a screwdriver. And also your opinion on best way to patch big hole. 15) As humidity levels rise w/ season, you will discover that dehumidifier is not controlling humidity as it should. You lower humidistat, but to no avail. You will contact Tremex & they won't believe you. You will tell them that you have not seen any water being pumped from machine to outside -- ground is dry! -- but they still won't believe you. Tech finally will come & agree that dehumidifier isn't working. But owner (?) will not believe either of you. 16) Owner (?) will come a week after tech evaluates issue, & tell you that you are reading humidity monitor in your home incorrectly. You will call Accurite to confirm how to read it, & they will assure you that owner (?) is wrong, & you are right. So there is a problem w/ dehumidifier. Owner (?) will contact dehumidifier company & they will agree to send a new machine. 17) It will take 12 days to install new machine. 18) Tremex will not change filter in specified first 3-4 months, so you will have to do that. 19) 9 months after new machine is installed, you will find your floors buckling on one side of house, which is opposite of where machine is located. You will place a 2nd humidity monitor in crawlspace under floors in question, & find that humidity levels are significantly higher there than where machine is. 20) You will have to contact company that makes dehumidifier. They tell you that it is proper size for crawlspace, but that it was installed in wrong place & should be in a more central location. 21) You will contact Tremex & tell them that humidity is not properly controlled (your responsibility under contract) & that they should move machine. They will insist many times that you need to hire your own electrician to move outlet, even though they installed first one in wrong place. 22) To avoid dealing w/ them any longer, you will buy your own materials to move outlet yourself. Then they will suddenly show up to move it! But w/out an electrician. 23) You will find that machine's compressor never stops running, your electric bill high, & machine needs repair. Tremex will tell you it's your machine, & you must fix it yourself, even though contract states: Tremex will "Replace defective materials & equipment at our expense while under the manufacturer's warranty." Machine not 1-year-old and has at least 2-year warranty on it. You will have to pay for shipping the 60+lb machine. 24) 1.5 years after full payment of $4,850 (+2.50 cc fee), and still not done. 25) Review! read more
