I forgot that Sally's tends to be a bit pricer than what you'd find online, and I'm only comparing the two because Sally's is a national chain. Also, because this specific space has been around for literally decades, it's a bit rundown/grimy inside. They do have fun promotions from time to time: BOGOs or "spend x-amount get blah blah blah for free" (for example, I once got an enormous travel bag from them for spending $75 [I think], and it was actually a really, really good bag [it's currently home to all my cross-stitching goods]). The brush I got - which is an "ultra detangling brush that leaves hair smooth and polished, good for wet or dry hair"- was $6 and the cheapest option they had (I just needed something to get the knots out and maybe not snap in half when I use it!).

I placed an online order this morning for store pickup. When I placed my order I was reminded that the store closed at 6 pm, perfect. I planned to be there at 4:45. I called the store ahead to double check that my order (prepaid) was indeed ready before I made the 30 minute drive to the Sally's store. When I got to the store at 4:45, the door was locked and the lights out. I couldn't believe it! I walked around to a couple of other stores to see if the store person had an emergency or something to explain why the store was closed. When I got in my car to go home (pissed!) I saw that lights go on in "Sally's" and a store clerk unlocking the door! I was clearly annoyed and had to explain/remind the clerk I had spoken to her before I left work and told her I would be there by 5 . . . Thought that should be safe with Sally's closing time of six. She said, oh, I had some cleaning up to do in the "back" ---- couldn't have put a note on the door or left the lights on?? Seriously?? I know we are in a pandemic and would certainly understand if an emergency came up, but this was sloppiness on the part of the person working in the store.
