Lee &Cates does not stand behind their work and honor their warranty. I had Lee and Cates do over $12,000 worth of work at my home. One of the windows that they installed shattered. Instead of honoring their warranty, they suggested that "something hit the window." Despite my explaining to them that there isn't anything located near the window, as well as the fact that the window is located in a screen enclosure and none of the screens were damaged that would show something hit the window, they refused to replace the window. I will never use this company again. I would highly discourage others from using them. What a horrible way to take care of their customers... There are plenty of other companies, including Bold City Glass that do a much better job of taking care of their customers. read more

From first contact to quote to bathroom glass install. The service was pretty responsive. We exchanged good clear communications via email and phone. Had to wait a couple weeks for materials to arrive, but not a big deal. Price seemed fair overall. Only gripe is that installers should wear booties or place a protective covering in the tub/shower that they stand in when performing work. read more

Came out to take measurements said I will get a quote in a couple days. Never heard from them!! I was hoping to have my sliding glass doors completely redone regardless of the cost! Apparently, my money wasn't good enough perhaps a cultural decision. I will not ever do business or refer this company! read more

We had shower doors installed in two bathrooms. They were professional from the first phone call thru installation. Returned our phone call on a timely manner, showed up on time when they said, treated us with courtesy and our home with respect. We are very pleased with their work and will definitely use them again for other jobs. We thought the price was fair for superior quality work, Definitely recommend giving them a call if you want an affordable way to update your bathroom showers and don't really need everything redone. read more

Not a great experience at Lee and Cates. Unpleasant customer service (the gentleman at the front desk is a rude ass), missed deadlines that they themselves gave me, no callbacks. I finally had to cancel the order and get a refund (which thankfully went through quickly). Went to Glass Specialists in Atlantic Beach and got a cheaper quote and they cheerfully called me two days later to say the items were ready for pickup. read more

Poor Customer Service. Just read all the other reviews. The manager JEREMY should not be in a customer facing position. I own a MAJOR business on JAX BEACH and this company installed windows that are now failing. We called to get them fixed AND to install a shelf on our serving window which they did previously. After 12 days or no return calls he calls yelling he can't do the work and they didn't even install our windows. I AM STARING AT THE RECEIPT. BBB called. AVOID THIS BUSINESS. If you read the reviews that are not from BIRDEYE you can see that there are NUMEROUS upset customers complaining about Jeremy. Please if you want to put out facts please get them straight. I went to Lee and Cates when my rear window was broken. Took several days to get an appointment but once I did I brought my car in. As they were doing the work I noticed that it did not look quite right. When they brought the car out I pointed out that the window was not tinted. They said that they did not think that I wanted the windows to match. They suggested that they might be able to get the window done sometime next week by their shop downtown but I would need to call them and make an appointment with them. The also said that I would not be able to use the window until that was done. They then proceeded to leave me walk into the office and laugh at me. I called the Beaches location to get a quote on a frameless shower door, and left a voice mail. No call back. Filled out the on-line request form and received an automated reply "Thank you for contacting Lee & Cates glass. We will get back to you as soon as possible." Well, evidently "as soon as possible" is never. That was on November 30th and it's now December 27th. In the meantime, I called another company and got a return phone call the same day (a Thursday) and they set up an appointment to come out on Monday. They showed up on time and were very professional. Signed their quote and two weeks later had a beautiful shower door installed. read more

I busted rust off of one place and (with your primer) primered. That's place is good. The other place didn't start to rust until after the windshield was installed. It also upset me (very much) that the person that I scheduled the apt with told me that L and C would supply all the window trim and hardware and found that she (blatantly) lied to me (anything to make a sale, huh?!!). Your tech used the sealant to glue the trim around the windows (shoddy craftsmanship). read more

Found them after having a horrifying experience with another company (Veterans Auto Glass) and I cannot express the joy that the first company was such a joke, because without their ludicrous attitudes/work ethics, I wouldn't have found Lee&Cates! I called the Mandarin Store for a window and screen door repair. The tech came, fixed the window and took the screen door with him. Three weeks later when I have heard nothing back, I call and was told they don't have an order on file and have to find my door. A day later they call back and say they found the door in "the back" and will repair it and return it. Three more weeks later still nothing - so I call and this time I'm told it's not there, it was taken downtown and is still not been repaired but they will repair it and bring it a week later. The delivered it to day 6 WEEKS and two phone calls to find out what's going on (if I had never called it would still be sitting there) after it was taken in for repair and they had the nerve to still charge me full price $175 to re-screen and replace the rollers. Not even an apology for how long it took or the poor service. read more

customer service is poor. Installation even worse. They installed a 4 x 8 sheet of glass, caulked only the outside with black stuff and left the 8 ft piece of plywood attached on the inside. The service rep via phone told me I only needed to do some cosmetic painting. Didn't tell me it was behind an 8 foot piece of plywood. Shoddy work indeed. Had to pay a contractor to clean it all up. Called today and of course the service rep I spoke to yesterday is out for a few days but they'll have him call me. ya, right. read more

I chose Lee and Cates' because I thought they were a reputable company; good service and quality work. CAUTION: Never use this company. The customer service is extremely unprofessional and the service techs are even more unprofessional. Sunday night a window was broken in my preschool. I called Lee and Cates, and within 3 hours, a service tech arrived. 1. the work was a messy: a. the tech dropped the black caulk on my white baseboard, ruining it b. black caulk is smeared on the window glass 2. after the messy work was completed, the tech placed a piece of paper and a pen on the counter and said, "Just write down your credit card number, and I'll process it in the morning." a. I asked him if there was another payment method because I am always uncomfortable writing down my credit card number and giving it to anyone. He said, "Lee and Cates is too cheap to buy us what we need to collect payment, so you'll have to write down the number. 99.9% of our customers write down their credit card number and give it to the techs." b. I told him that the next day I would contact Lee and Cates Corporate office to find out other payment methods. I asked for an invoice, and he did not have one or leave me with one. 3. Still without an invoice, the next day, Carrie, from the downtown office, called while I was driving children to school, and I told her that I would call her back as soon as I'm not with the children. She called 2 more times within 1 hour of me telling her I'd call her when children are not around (the children come first, and we do not have conversations and handle business when we are responsible for children.). I had already gotten the mailing address from Sue to mail my certified check, yet, I am still being harassed by Carrie and Lee and Cates. 4. I planned on calling Lee and Cates to ask for an invoice and payment options during nap time, and after a parent conference, BUT, while I was putting eight 2 year olds down for nap, TWO of Lee and Cates technicians show up at my preschool and refuse to leave without me giving them cash or my credit card number! I had a parent waiting for a scheduled conference, and she was very uncomfortable with the bullying nature of the techs. After over 20 minutes of me telling them to leave, I was forced to call the police so they left the inside of the building and waiting in the parking lot for approx. 15 more minutes. Finally, I told Sue that the techs will be arrested for trespassing when the police arrive, so she called dispatch and told them to leave my property. 5. Someone named Bob called to tell me how great their reps are, and that they are only doing their job! WHAT?? So harassing people and sending techs to my job one day after your tech left without giving me an invoice, but demanding my credit card number is what Lee and Cates does?? Sending your uninvited /unscheduled techs to trespass on private property AND creating a hostile environment around children is what Lee and Cates does?? Looking up my work number and harassing my job saying that I won't pay you is what Lee and Cates does???? This company is the worst, and I will let all of my colleagues know to beware of these shady people. 6. On Feb. 26, 2016, I finally received an invoice in the mail that had writing in black marker: NEED TO PAY ASAP! ...Since Lee and Cates has a written policy of the payment being due by the 10th of the following month, WHY ARE THEY HARASSING ME and the payment is not due until March 10th anyway?????? I was prepared to pay the next day, but since you all harassed me at my place of work and sent two men to my preschool, I will make the payment by the due date. Also, since the techs from Lee and Cates trespassed and refused to leave my property (with children around!!!), harassed me and my staff, bullied me and my staff to attempt to steal my credit card information, and no one has done ANYTHING to try to solve the problem...then I'll take this to the Better Business Bureau and social media. read more
