Stayed here during a upper nineties weekend and found myself having a difficult time sleeping each night. There's an air conditioner but the cool air immediately falls to the lower floors. The loft has no doors and is open to the staircase and below, so there's never a time when the room becomes cool. Get used to sleeping in your sweat if you're staying here during the summer. Also, because it's a 6 person dorm, people leave and come at their desire and you may be awoken from not only the heat, but other guests as well. I was glad to say that the amenities were nice, they supplied sheets and towels, something I thought they weren't going to do because their photos show the bed without bedding so I brought my own and ended up using them instead. The bathrooms are nice and the shower was top notch. The bathrooms were the best part of this hostel, but it seems as if, and I could be wrong, there's locals who also rent this place out (staying in other private rooms?) and also use our restrooms, which should, in my judgment, be reserved for the 6 who are staying in the loft. Multiple times I was waiting for the residents who weren't sleeping on our floor to leave the guest restroom. Also, the bathrooms ought to have seat covers since they're more of public bathrooms than private ones. They provide a cooking space for you to use and provide coffee and tea, but the refrigerator doesn't dish out cold water and the ice maker doesn't seem to be working either--when it's in the upper nineties that would have been helpful. Also, don't yip if you see mice, I saw them twice. While I stayed here for the weekend, the power dropped twice in the loft. They did fix it immediately. I think for the summer they can probably invest in making it more cooler for the guests with better cooling units--may I suggest central air units? Also, another suggestion, please do not turn off the air conditioner and fan and begin cleaning the dorm/loft while guests are still sleeping in it. And if you do, you ought to turn the air back on please. The price was right. If you're staying here be prepared to adjust to the heat and sharing a bedroom with 6 if you're not used to it like me.

Manisha and Prashsant, owners of Stone Manor Inn, were personally involved in making sure all went smoothly with our cocktail and dinner party, and it most certainly did! SMI is a lovely old country inn on 14 acres, I believe, with a number of different venues (indoors and out) for meetings, parties, and weddings. The rooms (7 in total) were eclectic, in a good way. All four of their largest rooms that we occupied were spacious, with king beds and spa tubs with separate showers. All were well maintained and clean upon check-in. We had no complaints. I'm not sure when we will return to the area, but when we do, we will not hesitate to return!

I was on the fence to book this place given its hefty price tag, and glad I went for it and completely agree with the glowing 5 star reviews. The bubbly host Manisha is very warm and welcoming. She cordially gave us a 20 min tour around the property, which was built in 1908, and even gave me a bonus tour of the other rooms afterwards. She kindly answered all of our questions and didn't rush us. The Peacecock Room is the most spacious and best room (aside from the bridal suite), elaborately decorated in peacocks. We loved it! The little touches like the handmade soap, a set of wine glasses, and a wine opener made the stay so memorable and special. While the rooms aren't temperature controlled, the electric flameless fireplace kept the room warm. The double capacity jacuzzi was perfect for my hubby and I and even had lights (some of the other rooms have smaller jacuzzi, so be sure to check). The rooms were clean minus a couple of lady bugs and stink bugs (which is too be expected out in the country). Dr. Fauci's assistant stayed here and Manisha informed us of the extensive sanitation process, even the pillows and decorations are quarantined for 6 days! The backyard is well groomed and really spacious with a nice patio and heat lamp, which kept us warm sitting outside in the frigid winter. Our dog loved running around! You can see the stars and constellations really well. It would make a great wedding venue! The Christmas decorations around the property are really nice. The owners really go the extra mile and put a lot of TLC into the property. The 6 course breakfast is delicious and bursting with flavor. Between the veggie quiche, cheesy potatoes, scone, pancakes, yogurt, and fresh OJ, I was stuffed! The fresh butterscotch scone was divine and devoured my mine and my hubby's! The cheesy potato had a nice spicy kick. Everything was so fresh and delicious. All the courses come out at once on a large tray. While my hubby and I chose to sit at the communal table (the chairs are roughly 6 feet apart), you can take the tray up to your room. Manisha and her family greeted us and thoroughly explained the dishes and chatted with us for a bit, even her son made an appearance! The bed and breakfast has a nice bar with wine, cider, and alcohol based on an honor code system. Water and soda is complementary, they even had Coke 0! The complementary fudgy brownies by the breakfast area during the day were sweet and tasty. Again the little complimentary stuff gives this bed and breakfast a nice resort feel. Very relaxing stay and looking forward to coming back!

All rooms were booked as we were there for a conference. There are no elevators, so if you can't handle stairs, this is not the place for you. The third floor room is quite large and has a connecting kitchenette. I did not stay in that room, but I did spend time in the room working with a colleague. I loved the experience - it was my first time at a B and B. The owner was kind, helpful, and made sure our needs and desires were met. Breakfast was served at 8:00 each day...I got the impression that was the only option. Had I been there for pleasure, perhaps I would have preferred a bit later but since I was there for business it wasn't a big deal. Breakfast was amazing each day. The chef took into account our dietary needs, AND provided us with delicious food each and every day. I loved it. We all gathered in the dining room and shared breakfast together. Since we were all there for a conference, we had much to talk about it, even though we'd just met (I knew one person only). The home does not have central air conditioning but each guest room and the dining room have air units - I was fine. Yes, the parlor was a bit stuffy - and we had to meet in there a few times for work purposes but I did not suffer too much. The place is so darn charming! It is located on Logan Circle which is a wonderful neighborhood. We walked the area quite a bit and found some great restaurants. My room had a hairdryer, shampoo, and soap provided. The room is cleaned every 3 days unless you request it - that was perfectly fine with me. I had plenty of towels/rags, so no complaints there. While the home decor is restored to the way it would have been in 1883, modern amenities were there...AC in rooms, cable TV, iron with ironing board, mini refrigerator, and a great shower. Things I wished for: coffee at 7:00am and that the metro was a tad closer....that's it. I could not have asked for a better host. I will return to the Chester Arthur B and B when I return to DC with my husband for vacation.

It was a very simple walk and on very large sidewalks crossing the streets was manageable at 8 PM. Once I turn the corner, there was the hotel. It was nicely marked. The hotel currently is having some construction going on. I never really noticed anything. The room numbers are large and nicely marked. I opted for a king bedroom. I felt it was the perfect size for me and it would definitely work for two people. There was a small dresser like cabinet with a TV. There is bottled water already in the room which was fantastic. Sometimes it's hard to get the bottled water at the lobby, so I really enjoyed that it was in the room. There is a small table with two chairs that you could sit at and work if you needed to and a chase lounge like couch. The bed was comfortable. I was able to adjust the HVAC to what temperature I needed. There is also a refrigerator available. The bathroom is fantastic. There was lots of storage. The shower was extremely roomy. The floor in the shower is a little slippery. The room really fit all of my needs. The only staff I came in contact with were the staff working in the bar/dining area when I went down for dinner. I sat down around 8:45pm. I was so thankful that they were still serving. I didn't know what time the kitchen closes. I had just gotten off the train. Ran my bags upstairs and came down. There was maybe 3 to 4 staff members that were helping in that area and every single one of them were polite and engaging. For dinner I ordered the chicken that came with a vegetable medley (carrots and broccolini), and mashed potatoes. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and the sauce was the perfect touch! The skin had wonderful flavor with a slight crisp. The vegetables were done perfectly. They were not overdone. Mashed potatoes were creamy. Overall, I was highly impressed with my meal. For dessert, I got the berries Romanoff. It was so light and airy. It was the perfect end to the meal. The bartender made sure my water was always topped off. Overall, this was a fantastic day and this hotel is definitely on my radar for any future visits.

The elevators were pretty responsive. Although you do have to go up to the second floor for the reception desk. They do have a bar on the same floor but it doesn't open until 5 pm on most days and usually closes by 11 pm. They do have a kitchen to order food from there or for room service but it is limited hours wise. They offer a complimentary breakfast that was located in one of the conference rooms since the main room that usually serves it was under renovation. The fitness center is also on the second floor. They do have a pool onsite but weather wise, it was still winter/smarch weather. The room was solid. It had decent closet space and enough drawers if you were staying a few days tops. They had a fridge, coffee maker, and a microwave. There was a partition with the TV that rotated from the small ottoman love seat and the king-sized bed. The tv had standard cable channels but without the ability to watch any streaming like Netflix. The bathroom was spacious with a decent enough sized sink. The shower pressure was solid and allowed me to wash my body without a temperature change or going into shock, which was nice. I would stay here again if I am seeing another show at the Anthem. Although I felt uneasy about it, our bags were stored in the main lobby where anyone could have taken them without supervision. Fortunately, our room was ready around 3 and our bags were undisturbed. It almost seemed like they were going to turn us away from checking bags because they had nowhere to store them. The gentleman, Donathan, who checked us in thanked us for our patience and was super friendly. He ensured we received our free waters and gave us directions to the elevators. He was great! The location of the hotel could not be better. Right on the water and walking distance to tons of restaurants and bars. They have a hotel bar that we plan on trying in a bit. Valet parking is 65 a night which is super expensive but there is no way around it. Valet has in and out privileges where daily parking is 3 dollars less and has no in and out privileges.
