I also loved the fact that only registered guests were allowed in with their assigned door code. It made me feel very safe as a single female traveler. This is within easy walking distance of my favorite restaurants in Dupont Circle and Adams Morgan.

It's quaint and charming, which is a trade off for…read moremany that are used to the comforts of a 'normal' hotel - especially for business travel: walls are thin, wireless internet is sporadic, and don't get any ideas that there are actual desks or anywhere to sit in the rooms (or at least mine - room #5 had just a little vanity that is definitely not ergonomic for computer work). Things to keep in mind if you are traveling for business. But the idiosyncrasies are a trade off for charming inn-type things. The entryway smells like freshly baked bread, there are 'holiday' decorations (fall now . . . so think pumpkins and cranberries), and you will likely run into a stuffed rabbit with a tea set sitting on a floral loveseat. Also note that its not handicap friendly - nary an elevator to be seen here - but at least panting up the three flights of stairs replaces a trip to the gym. The inn staff is absolutely adorable, and they serve breakfast in the mornings. Breakfast gives you a choice of a waffle, blueberry pancake or omelet, as well as other items like cheese and cereal. Room rates are reasonable - even more reasonable if you choose one of the rooms with a shared bathroom - and the location is great. I'd recommend the Inn if you're looking for something clean, comfortable and wayy different than a skyscraper modern-ed out steel and glass hotel - and even if you can't get wi-fi in your room, sitting in the downstairs in your PJs huddled over your laptop's wireless connection in the lobby really will at least feel like home.

Great location, about 3 blocks from the northern escalator at Du Pont Circle. Plenty of room to spread out, it was just my wife and I but 6 could get cozy in here and 4 could be comfortable. TV, free wireless internet, excellent location and a pleasant hostess. The basement apartment is self sufficient, so we did not have the "bed and breakfast" experience of sharing, but that's OK for us.. We had our own full bath, our own exterior entrance, etc. Rates vary, but this was such a better deal than any hotel room, how can you go wrong?

Our host, Dana, was very friendly and, since our sight-seeing plans were kind of up-in-the-air, gave us lots of good advice on places to go and things to see. The room was really cute and clean. The bed was amazingly comfortable -- one of those adjustable tempurpedic mattresses. I'm not sure if every room has one or if it was just our room, but it sure made it hard to want to get out of bed. There is free wi-fi and continental breakfast downstairs in the morning. This place is a great alternative to the pricey hotels around DC -- it has a private, relaxing feel and yet is close enough to the Metro that it is also pretty convenient. We would definitely stay here again.

Comparing the value, quality, and location across other Georgetown properties - this place is a hand's down winner! Few points: 1. Comfortable bed, clean room. Locks 10 and 11 seem like they would be the best choice, other locks have common doors just outside your door, so you hear everyone coming / going and getting coffee, etc. 2. Nice little two-person outdoor patio set outside lock #10, very nice for sharing a night cap. 3. Others have commented about the absence of staff, I do agree this is off putting but everything seemed to work with a little 'figuring out'. 4. For example, checking in at the ATM like machine, which takes a $100 deposit - and provides a numerical key code to your room. It was unclear to me that code ALSO opens the front door just to the right of the ATM, and whether that door was the common entrance. 4a. Another reviewer also mentioned their deposit took longer than they expected to be refunded, I was surprised to see the deposit move to a charge vice dropping from 'pending charges', took the full 5 days to credit after I called - expect a delay, the refund is not instant. 5. On the coffee machine, it defaults to a 6oz pour. Override that and select 10oz - that fills the cup entirely and doesn't waste the Keurig grounds in the capsule. 6. Location could not be better, don't miss dinner at Clyde's or a dessert to go from Filomena's (Turtle and Strawberry cheesecakes are spectacular, all made in house). 7. Common area kitchen has a full size refrigerator with 11 labeled bins, each for a lock - nice to be able to chill a bottle of wine or other items as needed. We were assigned to Room #5. 112sq ft of intimate space, cleanliness and entertainment. Nicely new/ updated rooms, pretty décor, toiletries provided, in room remote thermostat, clothing storage, natural light and room lights, cable tv, etc. I loved everything about this room. It is smack in the middle of Georgetown. You can literally walk everywhere your heart desires. Located in a clean and safe neighborhood, late night food and entertainment gems, etc. There are moderately priced garages everywhere. Street metered parking if you're lucky, and a few free parking spaces 1 street over. Hubby and I are already making plans to return! This place is a must stay... Trust me !!

The check-in process was efficient. I had requested a room on the highest floor possible, and the hotel was able to accommodate that request (8th floor ~ their last floor), which I appreciated. Upon arrival, there was a refreshing infused water station with lemons, limes, and oranges available for guests. Our room also included 2 complimentary bottles of water. The room itself was spacious, clean, and quiet. The bathroom was nicely appointed with both a bathtub and a separate shower. The shower was enjoyable, although the water pressure could have been stronger. 2 minor issues were: the TV remote, which was difficult to use. The buttons required a lot of pressure to work, possibly due to age or weak batteries. Iron leaked as we were ironing our clothes. Checkout was incredibly easy and smooth. Sydney was welcoming and friendly, asked whether I needed a printed receipt, and quickly let me know that I was all set to go. One thing to keep in mind is that most hotels in the central Washington, D.C., area charge for parking. The Kimpton George offers valet parking for $68 + tax per night, but there is a parking garage directly across the street for about $35, which is a much more economical option. KIMPTON George Hotel is a clean, comfortable, and conveniently located hotel near Union Station and the U.S. Capitol. With good service and a quiet atmosphere, I would consider staying here again.

Don't make a promise and not follow through. My biggest complaint was on checkout. I needed a receipt but they said they were running an audit and couldn't provide one. They couldn't even email me one. I really needed the receipt but the front desk receptionist-Chris was what he called himself, was rude and unhelpful. I even needed a taxi and he seemed put out to have to help me. This is not the level of service I expect from a hotel like this.

I can't say enough good things about the Phoenix Park Hotel…read more My girlfriend and I stayed here while in DC for the Warped Tour, and from the moment we arrived, the customer service was absolutely top-notch. Every staff member we encountered at the front desk, regardless of the shift, was friendly, professional, and genuinely seemed to care about making our stay a great experience. The hotel went above and beyond by allowing us to check in several hours early so we could get settled and make it to the concert on time. After checkout the next day, they also let us keep our car in valet until 11:00 PM because they knew we were spending the day at the festival. That level of flexibility and customer service is rare these days. What really stood out was that around 10:30 PM, the hotel actually called to make sure everything was okay since we hadn't returned yet. That simple gesture showed how much they care about their guests. The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and in a fantastic location near Union Station. As an added bonus, The Dubliner is connected through the lobby and served one of the best chicken sandwiches I've had in a long time. If you're visiting DC, do yourself a favor and stay here. The Phoenix Park Hotel has earned a customer for life.

That's really all I was looking for. We spent the majority of our time exploring Union Market area which is less than a 5 minute walk. The hotel is well decorated and has a beautiful boutique vibe. Staff was friendly, check in was easy, and they have an amazing restaurant on the rooftop that has AMAZING tacos. The only downside to the stay is having to park in the garage for $60 a night. There is street parking available, but that's not always guaranteed. Overall a great experience and would certainly stay again when out in that area.

Which is fancier But because we were staying nine nights, it appealed to me to take a hotel that had apartment styled rooms . I don't like Airbnb, because I don't wanna be responsible for Housekeeping... But we definitely wanted to have what we thought would be a kitchenette We took a one bedroom suite, which turned out to be a fully functional one bedroom apartment... A spacious king size bedroom, normal relatively small New York style bathroom which was absolutely fine, and a full living room with the dining table and a small kitchen We utilized every aspect of that hotel, including the laundry room that was available for a small charge, Trader Joe's which was a five minute walk away, Whole Foods which was a five minute walk in the other direction, and most important... The Foggy Bottom metro station. Within 20 minutes you can be anywhere, including Ronald Reagan airport... A direct shot on the blue line For those unfamiliar with Washington DC, foggy bottom is the closest metro station to Georgetown... Which is a leisurely 10 to 12 minute walk from the hotel to the center of the and dining district. The metro couldn't be easier to use, and the people at the hotel will help you find your way if you're unsure... And remarkably... The people who work at the metro stations are also incredibly helpful and patient... Quite a change from San Francisco where I live or New York where they pretend they are an idiot if you can even find them Another thing that makes the metro system so easy to use is that you can just click your phones and do auto pay if you have Apple Pay Google pay or something similar. I don't like other cities where you need to use that to charge some type of transit card... You can just directly do it there. Our tickets, no transit cards, no nothing just in and out. Back to the hotel, the restaurant was disappointing. The appetizer we served was so much of a joke that we didn't even eat dinner there. We just went somewhere else for dinner... But... And this is a good Butt... There are many restaurants within a 15 minute walk, including some of our favorites. And because we love to eat it happy hour there are several happy hour options available, including two branches of Founding Farmers We are a bit older, so we don't stay out that late in the day, and we don't care if we eat relatively early. So we usually enjoy loading up unhappy hour and moving from there. The Melrose also does a happy hour on cocktails and a few appetizers at all again for around the corner The front desk staff was astronomical, with the front desk manager really being a superstar. We were very appreciative of the excellent service by guest services manager Brandy, and her senior receptionist Jasmine. Service was excellent all the way around, with another set of thanks going to Saif , one of the bell/ door staff It's fair to say the hotel is not fancy nor the rooms elegant... But it was just so darn perfect for our knees and we would not consider staying anywhere else Also, the Watergate hotel is a few minutes walk away, so if you wanted to do something a little fancy or camping, you can go there for a drink. We did and had a nice time. I'm not sure I would want to stay in the place. How nice is that. The lobby is clean as well as the entire hotel. You are walking distance to The Lincoln Memorial. Train station is a five minute walk and a small market in the pathway that keeps late hours. Loved everything about my stay here . Thank you!
