Now we have taken our son's car to have the brakes repaired while he is home from college for the weekend. Easy to get appointments. Done in a day. Respectable and reliable service. Every time.

One example: I have a reasonably high end car that the turn signal lights kept burning out due to a design defect. The dealership charges hundreds of dollars to replace a $5.00 light bulb because they said the bumper had to be removed. When I took it to Express Oil, I watched them take out a bolt, loosen another then reach down and replace the bolt. What was almost a thousand dollars and a day at the dealership was a matter of minutes and $15.00 at Express Oil.

I contacted them to request that the fee be removed, but they refused. What makes this especially disappointing is that I have been a loyal customer for years, relying on Firestone for oil changes, vehicle service, and tire purchases. Apparently, that long-term loyalty is worth less to the company than a questionable $40 fee. This experience has shown me how little Firestone values its customers. The refusal to correct such a minor and unreasonable charge is frustrating, disappointing, and frankly sad.

When I called, I was told to bring the wheel in so they could check for a puncture, which seemed reasonable. At the shop, I was informed they couldn't pull up the previous work in the system and were to check if I had run over a nail or screw. Within about 10 minutes, I was told the rim was cracked and that it probably existed before the service, and that I'd need a new rim. This was surprising because: - The rim did not leak before the tire installation. - The new tire had no damage when I found it flat. - The rim and tire were inspected at the time of installation, so I question how the rim could crack or be damaged during service without an immediate failure or noticeable damage on the new tire. The final outcome was insufficient: I was told they do not repair rims and there was no clear explanation, accountability, or resolution offered. The communication throughout this process was inconsistent, and I did not receive a concrete plan to move forward or a satisfactory remedy. Ridiculous

I was told after 1 hour and 45 minutes they were waiting on a filter. I don't understand the point of making an appointment if the required items aren't there at time of service. On top of that, what used to be a roughly 40 dollar service cost me 91, even after a 15 dollar discount for making me wait. There's no longer any advantage to coming here versus a quick service that's actually cheaper at this point. I will no longer be bringing either of my cars here.
