Great little "mom and pop" automotive repair shop in Colonial Heights. Don't worry about sitting around all day waiting while your vehicle is worked on. They will drive you home after you drop off your vehicle. They also pick you up when your vehicle is ready. This is a great service for households with only one vehicle. We got our SUV oil changed. Only thing they forgot to do was readjust the on board display setting (why I'm giving four stars). Now we have taken our son's car to have the brakes repaired while he is home from college for the weekend. Easy to get appointments. Done in a day. Respectable and reliable service. We were traveling to TN to visit family. Our car broke down just as we got to our hotel, after most garages have closed. We were praying we'd make it and not be sitting on the side of the highway in the rain with a 6mo old. Anyway. It's now Friday morning and we are only here for the weekend I called and Jason answered. I told him our situation and he explained they were already short on staff and time but would ask Mr Bill and bless this man he said they would look at it and see what could be done. They were quick with a diagnostic and they said yes they could do it. The truck was ready by 6 PM and it would of been done sooner but there was a communication error in my end (Sorry Jason). I can not stress enough how absolutely appreciative we are for their kindness. They were responsive, fast and really went above to make sure we could make it to the family reunion we are here for tomorrow and also home safely 6 hours away. I have a HUGE mistrust of mechanics. My car has been having the same issue for almost 4 years and after taking it to numerous mechanics and them brushing me off with bare minimum work and never fixing the problem but taking SO much money, I felt super defeated. My dad mentioned trying Bill's because "it seems like they always have business." They took time to listen to me on the phone and in person when I took in my car. It took them 1 day to find the issue, actually fix it, and return the car to me. All the while telling me what was wrong, how they fixed it and making sure it really fixed. I found this business on Yelp. My college aged daughter was in Kingsport shopping and heard a loud scraping noise when hitting the brakes. Fearing the worst and not wanting her to drive back to VA, I sent her to this auto repair shop. They drove the car and didn't hear the noice, visually inspected the brake pads (without putting the car on the lift) and then discovered the issue was a broken mud flap. Ridiculous rude... No time management what's so ever... Had my car 6 weeks!!!! 6 weeks... And then informed me they had right to refuse service and wldnt be working on my car and if I didn't pick up car they'd have it impounded.... Knowing my predicament, He pushed my vehicle to the front of the list and got it done in under 2 hours. He and his staff are quality individuals and very genuine. Just a great group of people that are genuinely trying to get you back on the road. As a traveling band, having a vehicle that's out of commission can cost us gigs/money, but Bills was able to diagnose our problem (bad alternator) and had us in and out in a little over an hour. We took our car there to have the hood latch replaced after a friend had rave reviews of it, and when we saw the clever marketing of the crosses out front, assumed that we would be treated with respect and honesty. After 4 days, we were told our car was done. The next day, they called to tell us they poked a hole in the condenser and would need to replace it. We picked it up when it was finished, and the "desk girl" handed us paperwork that said they found a leak in the condenser and replaced it free of charge. After arguing with her about the illegality of falsifying paperwork, we got that fixed. Four days later, we notice the car is leaking fluid. We go to open to hood, and the hood latch breaks. We take the car back in, and that evening we receive a nasty, unprofessional voicemail about the work they had done and their expenses but the car was ready. We picked the car up, try the hood latch several times, and go on our way. We opted to have the oil changed at a different mechanic that we had used previously, and as we are paying we see their "desk girl" dropping off a car to be serviced. That looked off to us, but we didn't say anything to her. The next day, we notice the vehicle is overheating. We try the hood latch again, and it won't even open. Needless to say, this man is running an un-Christian, dishonest, unprofessional, shady business. Until he makes this situation right, I will do everything I can to make the public aware of their business practices. *UPDATE*: After picking up our car once again from this crook, they told us that they should have just referred us to a body shop after some unforeseen complication with our car. Any respectable mechanic would have done so before agreeing to take our money if that were the case. When we checked the installation of the hood latch, we could tell the previous two times they had "fixed it" that it was done incorrectly. Will update if this final trip actually fixed it. On our paperwork, which I would gladly upload all of it, they arrogantly noted that "this part was replaced for free as a courtesy to the customer". This shop is doing us no favors by continuing to fix their sub-par work. As we were leaving, we also heard them quote a price of $1000 to a woman who needed a part replaced on her vehicle that could actually be replaced for less than $200[a friend of ours JUST had this same part replaced by a different mechanic for $90]. This man is just a money hungry crook. Please, do not be fooled by the "God Bless You" marketing scam. read more

The best in Tennessee!! I was sad that it's so far away from CA because I wish I could get this service at home. I had taken my car with my bf on a 3 1/2 week cross country road trip, stopping for a 5 days in TN and 4 days in VA. Being worried, my parents had taken my car in to get serviced before I left. Long story, but they took it to the WORST place in Clovis (I mean, it has a 1 star on yelp!!) so I was worried about breaking down since even on the trip my car was jerking and making grinding noises. When we stopped through Kingsport we knew about Bill because he used to have a shop in Sanger, a few miles from where I live in California. We took the car in at about 9 and had it out by about 2 and it ran AMAZING! I mean, even better than when I got it! He even showed us the old parts that the other place DIDN'T fix. His son Josh works with him and is very thorough and knows everything about cars. While they were working on it and had it on the lift Josh let me come over and he showed me what he was doing and why it needed to be fixed. The price is very reasonable, but I would have paid much more to have my car run as well as it does now. I would highly recommend Bill's Automotive if you are in the area. read more
