It's sparse, as far as "Day Spa's" go, but this is more of a massage clinic even though they call it a day spa, but don't expect the fluff & butter of a real spa (think Gaylord Relache - one of my all-time favorite local spas as a client). But also remember that you get what you pay for. The "day spa" that everyone wants & expects takes big money to establish & operate, and when clients are only paying $80 on average for a basic massage, that will not buy a wet room, a vichy shower, or even the expensive electric tables that we've all come to love if you've ever been on one. Okay, maybe you don't know why electric tables are nice, or important, but as a licensed massage therapist I can tell you that electric tables are among the critical tools to help prolong the life of the massage therapist! Because the basic table with wooden legs cannot realistically be adjusted for each varying body size, it means the therapist is compensating in some way. That ultimately means the client may not be getting the best massage, but as a therapist, I promise I always gave my best, no matter what the conditions! So you have to hope, and trust, that your therapist has the same work ethic. Long story short, in spite of the lack of waterfalls, steam room, saunas, whirlpools and relaxation lounge, they DO have good therapists, who know what they're doing & care about their practice. I received a very relaxing hot stone massage that I would gladly return for!

I eventually found the "current" address and got there as soon as I could. Along the way I phoned 2x with no answer or call back. I find that type of business unacceptable, I accept that I was late however a business that states they are open till 7pm should respond to voicemails. As I arrived I knocked on the door with no answer or response, not good at all! So my stress relieving massage was stress-inducing

I've been getting my eyebrows done here for years. I was one of their first customers, and I've…read morealways left happy with my results. This all changed yesterday. I went in to get my eyebrows done and they've completely botched them. The girl that did my eyebrows was not someone that I've met before (probably new) and I didn't get her name. She seemed very pleasant, and I don't find pleasure in writing this review. I've always waxed my eyebrows. They're incredibly thick and if I were to sit in a chair for a threading session, I'd be there for a long and painful time. So I go in and request a wax, sit down in the chair and we get started. When I tell you this girl had no idea what she was doing, I truly mean it. She put scalding hot wax on my eyebrows lid and then let it set for nearly 15 seconds before applying the paper to get rid of the hair. And when it came time for her to rip the paper off, she did just that. Along with my skin. I have burns and skin is missing on my eyelids. She proceeded to RUB my eye lid with force for quite awhile because the wax had adhered itself to my skin, so now it not only hurts like a SOB, it's swollen. Now all of this I can kind of forgive, but then two other salon stylists get involved and attempt to gaslight me into saying it's MY FAULT for the damage to my skin as I have sensitive skin. Again, I've been going to this salon since it opened. I'd say since 2018 at LEAST and this has never once happened to me. My sensitive skin is not at fault for someone not knowing what they're doing. On top of all of this, one eyebrow is MUCH smaller than the other and they were hardly cut back. Typically this is something that happens before you start yanking hair off. So now I have busy, but thin eyebrows. No $27 gift certificate will ever bring me back here again.

Ask for Carissa!! I asked if I could use my own epsom salt & essential oil for the foot bath, and…read moreshe said ok. She made sure I was comfortable with the foot bath temperature before beginning. Carissa started with soft pressure and slowly increased and always listened if I needed a firmer or lighter touch. She will gently help stretch your hips, legs, ankles, and shoulders after massaging each area, and she listens if you need a break from the stretch. The only thing I did NOT like was that she tried to crack my back for me, so I asked her to stop. The scalp massage at the end was also very relaxing. She did not ask for tip up front like the other girls do, so I asked her to run my card again for a tip afterward. (I really don't like that the other staff want their tip up front! It should be based on the service!) After my last visit, this was a much better experience with Carissa! I will call and specifically book with her again. Covid concerns: They socially distance their clients, staff and clients must wear masks, clients must use hand sanitizer upon entry, staff wear gloves for the entire service.

Masseuse Amy asked that I give her a chance to earn my trust. From the start Amy has worked with me to determine proper levels of attention to chronic back pains and muscle tension. She listens and applies the attention and techniques I require at each visit. And I add the therapist are polite and give a warm welcome. My only concern is they're a small spa and when busy the masseuse are required to check walk ins and answer the phone. But overall Silk Touch & Amy specifically are hidden gems.

The salon is a great size - plenty of longtime stylists, plus newer ones who take walk-ins daily. If you prefer a more senior stylist, just call ahead and book an appointment. One thing I love: the place is always hopping. I've never seen it slow. Constant energy and a full house tell me they've earned a loyal following. The whole team is warm and welcoming, especially Missy and Shayna at the front desk. Those two are scheduling wizards. Somehow Sheila juggles two or three clients at once, and it runs smoothly because the front desk nails the timing every time. I usually get haircuts, highlights, and conditioning treatments. They also do beautiful eyebrow work, and almost every visit I see someone getting extensions that look amazing. Prices are very reasonable - not the cheapest, but absolutely fair for the quality. The real reason I keep coming back? The experience. Sheila nails my services perfectly, visit after visit. But she also takes time to teach me something new about my own hair - how to style it, encourage growth, or which products help. She genuinely cares. If you want a salon in Bedford that's skilled, consistent, and feels like family, go to Salon Cheveux. Highly recommended.
