You need a license to purchase at Lee Nail Supply now! BUMMER! I made the trek all the way north to stock up on my nail polishes and buy some for a friend's birthday, and when I asked how much OPI cost, the woman politely told me that she could not sell it to me without a license. I suppose they have gotten more strict with their policies since moving to their new location. That being said, the place was very neat and tidy and the sales people were friendly and eager to help, and genuinely apologetic that they could not sell me their products. If you own a salon or have a license, then you will love this place. The two star rating is not because of customer service or cleanliness or anything. However, if you're a member of the general public, don't get your hopes up high like I did! You will have to leave empty handed :( read more

Not sure why this place has so many negative reviews. It's my second time here and the workers have been helpful with finding products. It's huge. It's a Costco sized beauty supply store. The prices are better than what I expected. My go to supply store from now on. read more

Check nail polishes because many are old or possibly fake. Also, even though I checked mine and they all seemed okay, once I actually tried to apply them I realized every single one was runny and had a stronger smell than most other gels I've used. They are so bad, even the OPI, that they're almost unusable. Total waste of money. They take forever to cure and even curing for 90 seconds and using 3-4 coats they were still sheer and watery. The OPI almost needed 3 coats for an opaque shade and it was almost dripping off the nail....that is not normal. Also this was as soon as I got home from the store and sat down to make sample nails, so no heat, cold, or sunlight played a part. Something isn't right here....I won't buy nail polish here again. read more

The cashier arbitrarily changed the price of the items and did not give me a receipt simply because I did not have a professional license. I have been coming here for a couple of years as a DIY nail geek. Today was my last day, the lady that rings you up makes up a price (different from what is labeled) if you do not have a license. She is so stupid that while she up charged me on my polishes and sugar scrub, she under priced the multiple bottles of lotion, save yourself the interrogation from her and go down the street to Lynamy where the prices are better and they treat you like a human... read more

In my opinion customer service here is atrocious! I like the store and the products but just to think I have to deal with terrible and rude customer service makes me think twice about going in. It seems they really don't care about having a terrible customer service reputation because they continue being rude. They make you feel like your stupid, they talk and laugh with others in your face in their language if you dare to say or complain about something. I wish someone would do something about it. Would give zero stars if It were an option. First encounter with this supply shop was with an online order. I ordered 4 pairs of nippers (as I didn't want to drive 2.5 hours to Chicago to buy only 4 pairs of nippers as that's all I needed (which was still around $40). A few weeks went by and I never received them. Called to speak with them and I was told, "The order would be shipped that day." Another week went by and still nothing. Called back again and was told order was shipped a few weeks prior and there is nothing they could do. My address is a PO Box so I know no one took them out of my box. Not too long ago I was in Chicago for supplies and and saw the store so I went in to check it out. RUDE RUDE RUDE PEOPLE. Also, NOTHING is priced so you have to guess what everything costs. WILL NEVER GO BACK! If you want a great experience when buying nail supplies, go on down the road to Lynamy Nail Supplies. My wife came into their supply shop to return an item she changed her mind on which she purchased two days ago. She did open it (original box still in tact and not damaged) but no where on their receipt or any posted sign in their store states you can't return an open item. The woman and man she spoke to were extremely rude once they found out she wanted to return the item. She would've been happy if they stated no full refund but store credit is okay. They didn't offer her any of those choices but stated they won't accept open items return. HUGE mistake my wife buys a lot of supplies front that shop (NOT ANYMORE) but over such a simple item they just burned that business/relationship bridge. I heard prices for Essie bottle is 4.75. I check online and its $4.75 too. Why would I even buy it for $4.75 when I can walk to Lynamy's and get it for $3 bucks. Anyways, I regret buying Orly matte top coat and Sech Vite top coat here because my total came to $9 bucks. $5 for Orly Matte Top Coat $4 for Sech Vite Top Coat Like seriously, These people are lucky I didn't feel like going back to Lynamy's bc I was in a rush and was trying to make it to the expressway before rush hour bc this place wouldn't have gotten a penny out of me! They are expensive! (Even though you still get them for 50% v.s the drug stores.) Why go here when you can take a walk and go to Lynamy's ...I don't know about Sunflower nail supply which is directly by this supply place but you can see which place suits you best to purchase your products. I would want to get more for my money if I can. That's just me . I wouldn't come back here again. I rather take that walk next block to Lynamy's nail supply. Parking is crazy in that lot too so it's best if you park here in this plaza and walk BUT if you don't mind waiting in a line of cars for a parking space at Tai Nam's.... this is the spot to park in this plaza though! And plus they charge extra $15 bucks if you use a debit card so have cash if you plan to buy here. read more

Very disappointed :( I have been going there for over 5 years and today the staff was ruder than the last time I was there, which was 2 weeks ago!! They act as if there aren't other supply stores within seconds away! My staff always complain about the service and it has taken me this long to see it for myself. I got really excited when a friend took me here. My complaint is that I thought it would be so much cheaper for OPI. The most annoying part is that there are no prices on anything. $5 for an OPI is good, but not worth a drive over there to save $3. I used to love this place!!!! Since the last time I've been here they moved locations. Which is not a big deal, the new location is HUGE but very very cramped!!!! (i feel like their nail polish selection got smaller.) The staff is very judgmental and not very helpful, if you come in make sure you don't have any questions because a. there is no one to answer them b. good luck finding any employees and c. NO ONE CARES!. I picked up an OPI nail polish and got yelled at because "only professionals can touch those" what??? i picked it up, and was looking at the color, there was no need to jump on me about that, i was not going to buy it because there is a big sign that says " Only licensed technicians can purchase OPI." When the lady that checks me out found out that I don't have nail tech license- although they say they sell retail. She switched the prices and up charged everything. After seeing yesterday's Yelp review for this place, and needing to buy some manicure sticks, I decided to check this place out today. I was very pleasantly surprised. The store is very neat and clean, unlike a lot of the other nail supply stores in this same area. The young man working inside was very friendly. The prices also seem very good. Looking for nail salons, I found about about Lee Nail Supply on Yelp. What a hidden treasure! I love Essie, so this was a real find for me. Throw out your old nail polish--it's thick and crummy anyway--and treat yourself to some new colors and brands! It's easy to park on the street (ok, you still have to pay for that). They also have huge bottles of hand lotion, which is great for a lotion-addict like me. Go there and have fun! read more

I went there after seeing all the raves and great reviews only to see the place was closed (got there at 7pm and the door sign said the place closes at 9pm) talk about being bummed out! I'm what people refer to as a "nail polish whore," so I promptly returned the next day at noon. There was an oddly tall and big sumo looking bodyguard standing a foot in front of the main entrance so I just walked around him into the land of polishes only to have my hopes and dreams crushed. The cashier was beyond rude, as I was standing in awe of all the gorgeous polishes, the cashier uttered my death sentence, "Do you have a licence? We don't sell to people who don't have a nail license." My face dropped as I turned to her slowly and said I didn't but that I heard I could still buy some polishes at the store. "No. I don't know where you heard that but that's not true." I looked at her like a dog who just got caught pissing on the floor, "So...I can't buy...anything?" "No." I walked back to parking lot passing the sumo body guard who looked at me and smiled sheepishly. This place sucks. I bought a nail drill that never worked for $40. I went to return it the very next day and an employee told me I couldn't return or exchange it. She claimed she explained that to me when I purchased it but that is not true at all or else I wouldn't have purchased it. I told her to rewind her video camera to show me that she explained that to me. Of course she didn't have anything to say except that she wasn't returning or exchanging it. I never even got to use the drill because it never turned on. Everything was exactly the way I had purchased it but, they didn't care. So, don't shop here unless you want to get robbed!!!!!!!! Great deal! Stumbled upon this after a late lunch at Tank Noodles. OPI and EPI nail polishes costs a lot less than purchasing it at chain stores. They also have a vast selection of tools you normally see at a nail salon. It's open to the public so you can take advantage of the low price. read more

I'll be honest and say I don't entirely understand the lower rating Lee Nail Supply has compared to Lynamy. I am not a licensed professional and I stopped here for the first time tonight with my roommate after finding out Essie's were $5 at Lynamy. I can find them cheaper online but I figured I'd check out Lee's. Lee's may not have as wide of a selection of Essie as Lynamy does, but it is certainly a good range of colors and none looked super old or separated which was a huge plus as most of Lynamy's stock in China Glaze and some Essie's looked so old it was sad. The store was clean and organized. The staff were also nice and helpful, so I can't relate to some of the reviews here but maybe I just got lucky. I would definitely buy polish here over Lynamy, for price and quality (no super old and separated polishes) licensed professional or not. read more

i go to school in the loop and it's really hard for me to not just hop on the red line and end up over here almost everyday. this place is pretty organized, no music playing so i felt kinda weird just looking around in silence, stuff is kinda dusty (but who cares, it won't ruin the polish). no prices are on the bottles so you have to ask how much they are. here's the verdict~ OPI: $4.75 china glaze: $3.00 essie: $4.00 color club: $2.50 it seems the prices fluctuate, but it's still less than retail. meh. i will never, ever buy nail polish at a target/walgreens/ulta/sephora ever again. read more

I Absolutely LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVe this place. The staff is very friendly and professional. The young man that was charging me out was also giving me tips on color combinations for polishes. (Who does that?) The prices are amazing and every time I go I end up buying a lot. They keep the stock fresh and up to date, if you have any questions about products they help you without any hesitation. There is always someone available to help you find what you need.
