Instead of being kind and friendly, every available associate in your store, stood behind the counter with the guy who was waiting on me, and they ALL bullied and harassed me because the stone was synthetic and I was unhappy about the repair. How unprofessional. Not only that, the repair you made fell apart six months later. AND, The Jewelry Boutique in Palm Springs repaired my ring for $65, Leeds and Sons charged me $400 for something not done properly, that I had to come back to your store 3 times for, and still no satisfaction. This post is overdue (sorry Lindsay!) but I stopped in almost two weeks ago with no expectation of getting anything, but I walked out of there with my first luxury watch purchase and I absolutely love it! Lindsay was my sales associate and she was very friendly and helpful, as were the rest of the associates. I got the watch I wanted at a deal I couldn't pass up. It was also a seamless transaction and even though it ran over into closing time, I never felt rushed to finish up. I just returned home from my first visit to Leeds and Son and I still cannot believe how fortunate I was during my visit. Being my first visit I was somewhat nervous, but Nancy and Brent were 100% amazing, so welcoming, and genuinely happy to show me some amazing pieces. Unfortunately the Tudor I was interested in wasn't available, but incredibly fortunate for me the Rolex I had been dreaming of and just hoping to see an exhibition model of had apparently arrived earlier in the day and Brent was incredibly gracious enough to offer it to me! I had a simple request - add some links to a watch band. It was a busy afternoon in the store and Robert Smith found time to say hi, ask what I needed and promised to be back with me in 15 min. He was back in 10. A special word about Robert. His business card says Certified Master Watchmaker. In reality he's much more. He's an expert's expert. Rolex owner ? Don't go that place ! It's ok for all retail stores that they want to seek and have to sell. I'm an international collector and ask this "authorised dealership" for a little favot- explaining my new Rolex. Yes I didn't bought the last one at their place - first they were "nice and interested" and offered the Rolex service like doing the ingravery on the bottom. The next tome we went there they didn't remember, didn't recognise us and after us insisting they said they made a mistake offering us this service. And I made a mistake thinking about buying the next watch at their store. Selling is a people business and when you only offer service when you buy things there - you'll never get a new customer. I thought my watch needed a new battery because it stopped keeping time, so I took it to Leeds and Sons on El Paseo. The jeweler called me a few hours later to tell me the battery was fine, but they cleaned all the leads, etc. When I went to pick it up this morning, they wouldnt take any money for their work. I had a bad experience. I moved from SF to the desert. Went in to store to shop. The saleswoman gave me an up and down glance, I guess I didn't pass the dress code? The manager came over and did same. I got the impression they were not wanting to sell me anything. I was so shocked. Never treated that way at ANY store in San Francisco. They have an amazing facility and a great watchmakers workshop right in the store. The wall to the watchmakers area is glass so you can see the watchmaker working away. I recently took my Rolex Submariner to Leeds and Son to be looked at and serviced before passing it on to my son. I personally met with Robert, their certified master watchmaker. Robert was a wealth of knowledge and assured me he would inspect the watch and do whatever it needed to be like new again. Before I left, he asked if I wanted an inscription on the back. This was something I had not considered until he said something. The watch looked brand new when I picked it up and the inscription turned out beautifully. When the watch was presented to my son, nobody could believe I had worn it for nearly 17 years. It really did look brand new. This is not my first experience with Leeds and Son. I would like to write this review for Leeds and Son: Jewelry, Diamonds & Watches in Palm Desert because if you want a luxury experience while you purchase fine jewelry then this is the place for you. Let me explain my situation, I have been happily married for over 20 years, however, I have never adequately showed my wife how much I appreciated her. Saving for retirement and the kids colleges funds stopped me from enjoying all the hard work I was putting in and, more importantly, it was hindering my ability to spoil the love of my life. I had heard of the amazing quality of the jewelry at Leeds and Son, so I decided to investigate it for myself. I final came to the conclusion that my wife deserved something "nice". I was truly impressed by the quality of items that the extremely helpful employees showed me but I thought with my meager budget I would not find something that would make my wife feel special. Which brings me to what makes Leeds and Son so special, it's the people who work there. Christy was that employee who worked with my humble budget on the first piece of jewelry that literally brought absolute joy to my wife's face. Even though I only wants a small, simple piece, Christy treated me like I as a high roller with a long buying history. She understood that I had a set budget but she was able to work within that budget to find something that made my wife incredibly happy. Since that time, the budget has gone out the window and my wife and I are happier now than we have ever been. This last weekend, I surprised my wife with an anniversary band and Christy was able to find EXACTLY what my wife wanted. As you can, my wife felt so special. My wife's eyes sparkled (almost a brilliantly as the diamonds) all thanks to Christy and her impeccable style and taste.
