Every once in a while I go into Leeds & Son on El Paseo to see the elegance and glitter of pieces and be treated so nicely by the staff. I needed to have my watch band changed, a fairly simple procedure for a jeweler that has the staff present to change the band on a more complex replacement. Many others need to send out my watch to change the band and it can take one to two weeks. I was asked if I would like my jewelry, that I was wearing, polished. Yes, thank you, so I took off my earrings, my rings and my bracelet and handed it to them along with my watch and my new band that I had ordered directly from the manufacturer of my watch. I was invited to sit down and asked if I would like anything, I replied yes, thank you, I'd like a cup of coffee. I sat at the high top counter drank a delicious cup of coffee with cream and sugar and had a wonderful jewelry conversation with the sales person that made my coffee. It felt like a ladies luxurious lunch. Everything was shortly returned all very shiny. It was a delightful mid afternoon treat except for the fact that I did not buy a beautiful sapphire ring that I saw. Consider treating yourself and look at the jewels. read more

I was truly impressed with this quality jewelry boutique, though that word may not be grand enough for the size and selection of magnificent jewels. I was browsing as I didn't have anything specific in mind and found a phenomenal ring and bracelet suite that made my heart skip a beat. Patrick Parkey kindly showed these pieces to me and explained that they were designed by an artisan in Los Angeles who takes years to collect the perfect matching gemstones (the bracelet was adorned with a variety of pink and violet stones) I would share a picture but I want to respect the posted signs that request that customers do not take photos. Patrick was easy to talk with and enthusiastically showed me some of the other designers work, all of which were phenomenal. Kyriakos Seraphim kindly cleaned all the jewelry I was wearing while I was shopping, and after seeing how they sparkled afterwards I immediately bought an ultrasonic cleaner! I walked into Reeds on El Paseo last Friday. It was warm and I was dressed very casually. There were several very nicely dressed sales people standing around. I walked the entire store, stopping to look at some of the displays. Not ONE person asked to help me or even made eye contact and no one greeted me as I entered. What they didn't know is that I was just sent a 27k check to replace jewlery that was stolen from my home. Disgusted, I went to leave and the gentleman at the door acknowledged me and told me to please come back soon. I told him I certainly would not be back after the way I was ignored. My experience with Bucherer 1888 aka Leeds and sons was simply the best. I walked in on a Saturday afternoon and I was immediately greeted by Kristina who offered me a water before asking if I was looking for anything in particular, I wasn't dressed in designer clothes or looking very wealthy, though not to gloat, I can certainly afford what I want to buy, I only point this out because I was treated like a millionaire simply by walking in the door not by the zeros in my bank account. I told her I was looking for an omega speed master and been thinking about purchasing one for a while, she said they didn't have any new ones and apologized but they did have some certified used ones and took me to the watch case to try some on. I immediately fell in love with the watch. I told her I had left my wife, daughter and her friend in the car because I wasn't sure they would have the watch. I didn't want to disturb anyone with children in a jewelry store, even though mine are very well behaved. They are used to high end places. I left the store to retrieve them and when I returned and sat them down to complete the transaction, they were offered drinks and bribed with Swiss chocolates and quietly sat as the watch was fitted and the transaction was completed. I would recommend this store to anyone looking for fine jewelry or watches looking for a exceptional customer service experience. I saw another couple drinking champagne I imagined picking out a ring or a anniversary gift and another group with a cute dog looking at watches. This is a place that makes you feel like you are the most import person in the world to them, because to them you are, a customer. read more

I saw online that Leeds was a recommended Rolex dealer. I need an appraisal and a new leather band so I was excited to call. Btw I'm a transplant like most people in the area are. I was greeted on the phone very flatly. I asked if they do appraisals for Rolex's. The dry reply was only if it was purchased in the store. I then secondly asked if they have replacement bands and I got the same response. Only if you purchased in our store. The women in the phone could care less. I am very disappointed in the snobbery of this retailer. Rolex should not have them on their site as a recommended store. The higher end the watch the higher end service that should be provided. If I could give no stars review I would. El Paseo is known for its Customer Service. Leeds needs some help. Shame on you. read more

My husband purchased a ring for me here 11 years ago. 2 things prompted me to leave this review now. 1- A girl friend of mine was shopping for a watch here so I told her my story and she said "you need to write a review and let People know!" And I thought yes I should because I'd NEVER recommend anyone I know shop here. 2- after 11 years I finally saw someone I know have the exact same experience as me, but with a ring from Tiffany's and there customer service took care of her! Offered to replace the ring! Nothing like what Leeds and Son did for me! Soon after my husband purchased this ring it started to turn my finger green like it was straight out of a QUARTER MACHINE! I tried everything, even took it to have them clean it professionally without saying anything. Finally after some time we took it in and told them what was happening. The sales lady who sold my husband the ring was no longer there- everyone else there couldn't/wouldn't help us. Basically just told us they don't know maybe it was my hormones ( yes hormones). Totally gaslit us! Offered no help, no resolution, and sent us on our way. Now that I'm a little bit older and wiser I understand they overpriced a poor quality ring and refused to take accountability. The metal was EXTREMELY low quality and I'm sad to say the stone is also AND purchase price in the 4 digit price range- not priced as a cheap ring. We recently moved to the high desert. New to the Coachella valley, and not wanting to search for a new AD, and not wanting to drive further than an hour from the High D, I mistakenly (and stupidly) took my Rolex Milgauss to a jeweler in Palm Springs to have it re-sized. That jeweler removed three links, and not only did he scratch all three, but he stripped the screw heads. So, I ended up driving that much further a few days later. I asked my husband to bring my Milgauss into Leeds and Son and explain what had happened. My husband's experience: he was glowing when he told me about the customer service he received. Three women helped him, and made him feel at ease. They were super nice and knowledgeable and reassured him that they'd take care of my timepiece. They talked him through everything. They even photographed the watch. he gushed over how awesome they were. My experience: I spoke with Robert on the telephone. I got to "geek out" on my timepiece with a Rolex watchmaker! Robert was and is simply amazing. I asked him for some articles about the Milgauss, and he followed through with emailing them. I could go on about how awesome the staff at Leeds and Son are, and how impressed we are thus far with the level of service and knowledge. Our family stopped in for a visit on the morning of my wife's 50th birthday to take a look at some beautiful watches during our recent stay in Palm Springs. We had an absolutely amazing time that ended in a total surprise! After being greeted by Nicole, one of the warmest people I have ever met, we were given some water and Swiss chocolate. We tried on a few watches and had a seat to just take it all in. Moments later, we met the wonderfully nice Christy and she presented us with my wife's dream watch and we had a chance to actually buy it!!! We were so shocked with joy and jumped at the chance to get her this gift on such a special day and decided to buy it. While continuing to smile ear to ear, Carlo, a very polite gentleman came out and made the final adjustments for a perfect fit and gave it one final cleaning. I don't wear jewelry but it was time to go shopping for a wedding band. My fiance and I went to a few stores and everything was either really plain or really gaudy. We went into Leeds not expecting to find what we were looking for. Boy were we wrong. Jessica greeted us when we walked in. We told her what I was looking for and the first ring she showed us was it. It was literally that easy. Even she asked if I wanted to look at more or try on others.. but nope, she got it on the first try. We had to order it and come back to pick it up and then went back a third time for another reason. Each and every time we have gone to the store, everyone is extremely friendly, remembers us from the time before and asks if we want anything to drink or need anything. I literally had to comment to Riki (I believe the VP - her family has owned the store for 75 years!!) that this is such a lost art, customer service, and it wasn't lost on us. Oh.. I almost forgot when it was time to pick up my wedding band, Jessica asked if she could clean my fiance's engagement ring (she has done it on every occasion), when she gave it back to us, she had gift wrapped it, so I wasn't the only one opening up a new jewelry box. It was such a sweet, kind gesture. Honestly, I kind of want to go hang out there every week because I feel like they are just friends at this point. :).
