We yapped all day and she educated me a lot on how to maintain and manage my balayage! I never had a hair stylist that was so attentive and sweet! I've been to SOHO about 3-4x now and I'm so happy with my results and hair transformation! I have had highlights done before and I've had some pretty bad results but that is not an issue at this salon. I'm now at a place where my hair feels healthy again and I feel confident about it. Hannah is so amazing and she cares for the integrity of my hair which it of utmost importance to me. All the stylists here are so nice too! Every time I come I always hear tons of ladies all complimenting one another and it's such a welcoming, inclusive, and positive environment. I love the decorations and furniture. It's got a modern feel but still maintains a classy vibe as well. They sell a lot of high quality products at affordable prices too which is a plus. This place is so cute! Really clean with a restroom up front in the waiting room and a water view in the back! I would highly suggest booking an appointment with Natalie O'Keefe!! I am extremely picky about who cuts my hair because some people can be very scissor happy! I went from long to short and Natalie cut it a little longer first and checked in to be absolutely sure I wanted to go shorter and felt comfortable. I didn't feel rushed at all. I have never loved my hair so much. I saw Avery for the first time yesterday and will never go anywhere else!!! I have been getting my hair colored for 15 years but have never loved it so much! Avery treated my hair like it was her own! I brought in a picture that I liked, but she made it look even better than the picture! I have struggled with getting the bright icy blonde that I want with all cool tones and no warmth. I have a lot of hair which is a good thing but unfortunately a lot of stylists don't take the time to make it look perfect, because it does take extra time. This was not the case with Avery as she took her time and went piece by piece so that it looked perfect and she didn't miss anything! I am very particular and protective of my hair, and style it a bunch of different ways, so it's important to me that it looks good no matter how I'm wearing it. SOHO is a great place to get your hair done! The interior is very clean and cute. They have a nice sitting area with some refreshment spots, and you text your stylist to "check in" when you arrive. I was very excited as this was my first time at this salon. My stylist was Bethany and after looking at some of her work on instagram (@bethanyschair), I knew I could trust her with changing my color! She listened to exactly what I wanted and after showing her a picture she immediately went to work. At the end she styled and took pictures. It turned out beautifully and I am so happy with the change! I went to Avery for the first time. I asked for a one level bob that I could wear behind my ear. She shaved the whole back of my hair and cut the front so short there is no way I have any hair to wear behind my ear. I was totally disappointed after I left the shop. I would not recommend her especially after paying $70 for a haircut that totally the opposite of what I asked for. read more

I love Christine! I found SOHO on Yelp (duh) and was quite nervous about going to someone new. The stylists are independent, but Christine reached out to me right away and was able to get me in quickly. She met me at the door when I came for my appointment, which was a nice touch. She is personable and sweet, and made me feel comfortable. She asked me to send her photos of my current hair and photos of what I was hoping to accomplish. She was prepared when I came to my appointment because of this. She listened to what I liked and wanted, and talked about what we could do to achieve it! Thanks to Melissa Canedy for her fun attitude and artistry skills in getting my hair tame again last month! She's been my stylist since 1998 but took a brief break as her family moved overseas for a new adventure. She's back and I couldn't be happier - my hair thanks her too! She's the only one that can get the color so right and cut my bangs the way I adore them!! We've been nurturing my locks the last year as I had a previous stylist pull too much color out due to over-bleaching. I'm sharing this review from my mom's account because I don't have yelp but I'm eager to compliment SOHO. The energy in this salon is so relaxed and positive. My hairdresser, Natalie, made my hair feel and look amazing. She educated me throughout the process on how to care for my hair and which products work best (but she was careful not to push any products on me or make me feel pressured). I ended up buying a UNITE leave-in conditioner and a purple shampoo per Natalie's recommendation. I will definitely return to Natalie again for everything hair-related. After 2 days and several calls/texts just try and get assistance with making my first appointment, I was already a bit frustrated but nonetheless still wanted to give the benefit of the doubt and try this salon. I was charged over $200, I was very specific with instruction as to cutting my hair and requested a skilled stylist. I have never been more disappointed and unsatisfied with my services at what was supposed to be a high end salon, my hair was chopped and the stylist who claimed that they could successfully texturize my hair failed miserably. I am left looking like I have a mushroom top around my head. The owners know very little with regard to any kind of customer satisfaction skills and do not want to assist you if you are not getting hair extensions. Poor way to run a business, take it from someone who won a National award in customer satisfaction from a renowned high end manufacturer and also does HR for a living. Don't waste your time and money on businesses that don't truly care about you as a customer because there are far too many places to give your money to that do genuinely care and hire skilled individuals! read more
