When I arrived at this location, they had 20 cars lined up around the drive-through and the parking lot was completely full. Everyone brags about it. This is the best Lee's in the nation. As far as taste, my food tasted like it normally tastes but it had a little bit of extra fresh in it. The potatoes tasted extra fresh. The chicken was not dried out and was really juicy, and the mac & cheese was also creamy and not dried out as well. Is it worth the drive if you have a Lee's close to you maybe maybe not but if you're in the area, I definitely recommend it. read more

We were going through Mt. Sterling Ky. and wanted some chicken strips for lunch. We hit the drive thru at Lees, even though the drive thru was way backed up. It was Labor Day weekend so we weren't surprised at the wait. The cashier told us they were out of wedges and there would be a wait so we subbed the Cole slaw. Upon receiving our order the girl told us the wedges came up and she put both sides in the bag and apologized for our wait. The wait couldn't have been avoided but the girl at the window couldn't have been nicer. Our food was hot and fresh and we appreciated the "extra" side. Great food, they do the KFC thing better than KFC does it. The spicy recipe is the way to go.

This place has went to shit since the corporation bought it back, if more than five vehicles come through at a time it automatically means a 30 minute wait to get a basic meal, also with the amount of business it does they should be better staffed to accommodate it, food is always good but staff is rude and slow. read more

We had a fairly large online order and most items were correct other than mine. Paid for the 5 piece strip and only received 3. But this review is about what I observed while waiting for my food. Most of the staff here seems to be younger, maybe high school staff which completely fine. However the oldest looking employee behind the line taking orders was eating chicken while taking orders. I have been stopping here at this specific Lee's for many years now. Its located directly off the interstate as you enter Mt Sterling. I normally get a bucket meal and all the fixings to take to my familys house. That way I never show up empty handed and get a good meal out of it to boot. This specific day, I had taken my sister to lunch. This place was crowded. They have a really cheap buffet and I think they are one of the few that offer so many BBQ meat options. You cannot beat the chicken. It is the best around the area. Whenever I stop by, the drive thru line is backed up down the street. I try to order online due to this and pull into the parking lot next door for pickup. It is kind of expensive, but not so much anymore considering the prices of other places. In my hometown there are only 2 places to get fried chicken. Lee's famous is 1 and KFC is the other. There are no gray lines. Each have their own groupies. Obviously, my favorite is Lee's. It is always busy, which means hot food. The employees are not typical fast food employees. These people are great at their job and take pride in their work!! They have a buffet which is hot and good. I believe it is all day. Their crispy chicken is spicy, but just a touch! Their famous is not crispy, but not limp or soggy. They have Texas Pete hot sauce if you need to turn up the dial! The sides are delicious-- mac n cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, potato wedges ( to die for) , cole slaw, and more. Of course, they have sweet tea. The restaurant is in a very busy location, but don't let that stop you. The line goes fast! You won't regret this little hot spot. On a side note, a new chicken restaurant popped into town and it failed from the get go. It made me sad that no one gave the restaurant a chance, people here are set in their ways!! Biscuits gravy and potatoes were all cold and my chicken was so old it was almost black. The cole slaw was delicious and so were the livers but they were just barely warm. They used to serve really great BBQ and chicken gizzards. I would drive from Ashland just to eat there. Not any more. They no longer serve gizzards and their BBQ sauce was deplorable. Really gone down hill. read more

Went there to eat with the family and my mother on a Sunday around 1 in the afternoon. When we ordered the buffet, we were handed plates, cups and silverware from behind the counter,we walked around the dining area several times to find there was no available booth or table to eat at. My family went to the buffet, filled their plates and went outside to eat at one of the patio tables set up outside which was right next to the drive through lane. There were a few other families having to make this choice and sit outside to eat in January. The food was good, the chicken had a lot of flavor. The buffet was not that well attended as the food was not replaced very fast when it was empty. When I passed through the food bar the first time, the cherry crisp was empty and it wasn't replaced through the whole of my meal. In order to visit the buffet each time, you had to go ask for a clean plate from behind the counter. I will go back to this place,just not on a Sunday. read more
