Medium rare 12oz. Ribeye and baked potato. What was left of it after eating first half of the full portion.
    Abe S.

If you find yourself in Mt Sterling, KY this is a good bet for a decent meal. The service was very good the ribeye was a bit thin for a 12oz but likely weighed exactly that. I prefer a thicker cut of meat. The temperature was exactly as I ordered. The potato was not over or under cooked and plenty of butter and sour cream as I had asked for it. A bottle of cider($6.50) and the steak ($26.99) the total before tip was $36.21. The restaurant was literally beside my hotel so it was convenient and this is a chain I see but usually goto competition that is usually nearby. This was the only steakhouse I saw and gave it a try. The decor was typical steakhouse. I sat at the bar as I usually find quick attentive service doing this and makes for a quick dinner. Tuesday the staff was possibly a little lighter (1 server/bartender with several booths to also take care of plus the rest of the servers bar drinks so she was running constantly. No fault of anyone and she was very efficient and took care of everyone. I would not hesitate to dine here again.

As the name implies "Cattleman's" this is a restaurant has a vary western atmosphere inside. The meals are heavy on the meat and typical vary good with good portion of food served.

Mondays dinner special comes w one side and unlimited trips to the salad bar! So yummy!

When we first went in the TV was on but no sound. It was perfect. Then the TV went off and very loud music came one. Not good. My husband ordered unsweet tea, which ended up being nasty, sone designer tea with mango and passion fruit in it. They replaced it with water. We did ask for a refund and got it. My daughter ordered a BBQ chicken pizza. However, the sauce was also nasty, some kind of Ale 8 mess. They replaced it with a different pizza. However, we then had to wait once again for the new pizza. WILL NOT GO BACK!

The best items on the menu have been removed and they change the menu too often. This particular restaurant started out strong because previously alcohol could not be served. I think alcohol is the only thing saving this restaurant. The service is slow and it takes FOREVER to get your food. Do not order any unlimited item unless you planning on being there for the day. That being said, my mom ordered spinach dip. We went ahead and ordered soup and salad. The spinach dip was good and hot. The chips were crisp but a bit greasy . Our food FINALLY arrived. The cheese on the French onion soup was melty, but not golden or browned. The salad had decent flavor, but the chicken obviously came with grill marks. My mother's experience was the same. We didn't order a refill. Patricia (Patti) was our waitress. She has been here forever and is a local gem !! All the locals want her to serve them as she is very efficient! Not everyone needs alcohol to have a good time. But too many like to misbehave when drinking. Disappointing experience and worse customer service. Bowling is dying and Sterling Lanes clearly doesn't want to keep it. As a business owner, I understand equipment isn't always going to behave, but more than that I understand you can't treat paying customers this way. I would highly recommend anyone looking to bowl here go elsewhere until these issues are taken care of. I know I, and everyone I know will.

My…read moretop-tier chum who literally went to the school of hospitality and I stopped by here for dinner last Wednesday on a pretty muggy, rainy evening on our way from the SE Appalachia section of KY to Irvine, KY. It was conveniently located right off 15, and despite the meh weather, the place was easy to spot largely because there were a lot of cars in the parking lot - a compliment to the restaurant and its food, or the only game in town? Based on our experience, probably a little bit of both. Definitely does have the roadhouse vibes; it's very spacious and kind of dark in there, with a bar to the right of the entrance and the vast majority of the acreage dedicated to a large dining area on the left. We were seated immediately and after the meal took advantage of the cool map situation by the bathrooms where, if you requested a pushpin from one of the employees, you placed it on the map to show where you came from. Already oodles of NJ representatives on there, which is unsurprising. The random North Dakota pushpin was a bit of a shock, but I guess they travel too. The menu was pretty large but I was immediately drawn to the Fried Catfish w/ Hush Puppies entree, along with the tater skins app, which our waitress went out of her way to compliment. The Catfish was decent; as you can see from the accompanying picture, it was a huge portion and I took a sizeable chunk of it to go (where I think I eventually threw it out because it's not really road trip friendly). Coincidentally (or not, given where we were in the country) I'd had some hush puppies the night before at a hotel in Blacksburg, VA, and these were better. Those others were over-fried but also had mac and cheese stuffed in them, so these basically had better texture but not as much flavor. The mac and cheese was a real low point, unfortunately. Not dissimilar to the hush puppies, they were super tasteless and a bit watery. They had a bit of breading/crumb topping, but it really didn't do anything to improve the situation - definitely something for them to work on. The taters were just okay; usually the issue with them is that they're in the deep fryer for too long (which is not an issue for a lot of people, I suspect), but these I thought actually weren't cooked enough. The interiors were a little tough so the potatoes could have used a little more time in the oven or fryer. Service was solid. Our waitress was very nice and happily contributed her thoughts/opinions on different items of the menu, which my chum loves to seek out when we're in a new, unfamiliar place. I was starting to get a little tired by this point in the day so it was nice to have efficient, quick turnaround times for everything. The prices were decent as well, which probably isn't too surprising given that we were still pretty far away from Lexington and other, more populated areas. This was fine for what it is, and my preference is always to go local when you're traveling through small town USA in lieu of the chains. This wasn't incredible, but we enjoyed our time here and left a literal physical reminder of our time here with the aforementioned pushpin.
