There isn't much not to like here. The prices are fair, the portions are big, the food is quality. The chow mein and fried rice are a bit lacking but other than that, the entrees are delicious and plentiful. I usually have a hard time deciding on what to get here but I'm never disappointed. Another hidden gem in Vallejo for those in the area, looking for Chinese food.

Just came here for a lunch special, food was pretty sloppy and I won't be back again, feel like it was a waste of money which is strange because there was a line at the door. There were flies all over the place and the cashier wasn't very friendly although the worker serving the food was nice I wouldn't recommend this spot.

    Really bland.

Szechuan Chinese Cuisine, Vallejo: 2026 Jul 11 (5 of 5)…read more A Place Worth Visiting! Not all Chinese foods are made equal. Gettings decent Chinese food is not easy. Getting really tasty Chinese food is even harder. Szechuan Chinese Cuisine in Vallejo has bold, intense, and complex flavors. Originating from the Sichuan province of China, Sichuan food combines fiery red chilies with the signature Sichuan peppercorn which produces a unique, tingling buzz on the lips and tongue. Whether the food here is authentic Sichuan cuisine, I don't know because I've never been to China. However, the food here has all the flavours that satisfies my tummy: fragrant, hot, salty, sweet, aromatic, deep umami flavours defined by cooking on very hot stove. The service here is excellent and nearly all the dishes were well thought out. They offer deeply layered dishes that goes far beyond simple heat. The only dish that did not satisfy me fully was the pork chop. I just couldn't sink my teeth in it, but the flavours sure are prominent. Overall, this is a place worth visiting. This eatery looks clean and well maintained. I took a peek in the kitchen and everything seem to have its place. Emily was our server. She's a delightful lady with positive energy. Parking is easy, open, and free. Disclaimer: I am not paid for my reviews. My reviews are only on items I have tested and tried. Their lunch specials are available every day (including weekends) so they are my go to. Each special comes with the soup of the day, an egg roll, and your choice of fried rice or chow mein. I usually order the kung pao chicken, but I have also tried the cashew chicken and the three delicacies (beef, shrimp, and chicken) which are also great. The portions are very generous, and I usually have enough leftovers for a second meal. Overall, a great local spot with good value and consistently satisfying food!

We all have different tastes. A lot of people really like this restaurant, comparing it to San Francisco Chinese food in China town. Our experience was not good. Upon my better judgment, I ordered the Pot Stickers. Reviews had said too much dough, no flavor in the filling. Well, that is absolutely true and the oil tasted off. I ate one, my husband at two. There were six. I ordered the Basil Chicken only to be told they were out of Basil. I changed it to Garlic Chicken. I asked what the House Special Beef was. The owner told me it was Spicy Beef with Bok Choy. I asked if we could have extra veggies in it. She said yes. And finally the BBQ Pork Fried Rice. Food came, they looked exactly the same except one was beef and one was pork. They tasted exactly the same and the beef had no heat. The rice even tasted like the other two dishes. It all was more like a bland brown gravy instead of tasting like Chinese food. When my husband and I go out to Chinese Food, we never have leftovers. We didn't want to offend them so we got ToGo boxes. When we got home, it all went straight into the trash. My husband had a Diet Pepsi with dinner, I had my own water. With tip it was over $70.00. Two people came in to pick up take out orders, while we were there. So not much business and they definitely won't get ours again!

Even for the ones I didn't eat until towards the end of the meal, there was still a good amount of soup inside that didn't get absorbed by the meat or wrap. You order at a tablet, located at each table, for dine in orders. You can also specify if you want certain items to go, which was perfect because we were eating some things there and taking some items to family. We ordered the following for there: Pork XLB, Shrimp Pork Shaomai, Garlic Green Beans, and Chocolate XLB. The following was ordered to go: Wonton Soup, Pork Bun & BBQ Pork Bun. It's not a huge space, most of the tables are on the left side of the restaurant. A large portion is the food prep / behind the counter area. I had the milk tea to drink. It was fine, nothing special, but I hadn't had one in a while so I enjoyed it with my meal. I also thought the Chocolate XLB was interesting. It was melted/gooey chocolate inside the skin/wrap. It was a nice finish to the meal. I think most of the items were more a 4 for me, but since I loved the XLB so much, it's a 5 rating.

I remember meeting an out of town friend here for lunch back in the mid-1990's. The place has old school decor, and a great location near the freeway and down the road from the Discovery Kingdom Park. I was there on a Saturday over Labor Day weekend. It was dinner time (6pm) and the place was empty. The hot food steam table was no longer in use. They have the same old style tables and booths. I was greeted by my server/waitress Janet, and she offered me a booth by the window. Service was great! Grade (5/5).....because for about 30-mins, I was the only customer in the dining room. They had lots of pickup and delivery orders. My server told me they lost alot of business after they raised prices. I ordered Wor Won Ton Soup and Walnut Prawns. The Walnut Prawns were very good. The prawns were fresh and plump. The sauce was creamy and the flavor was good. You get 14 prawns and lots of chopped walnuts. Price: $14.95. The Wor Won Ton Soup was average. This is my favorite dish to order. My bowl had 8-9 dumplings, lots of bok choy, some shrimp, and some beef and chicken strips. The broth was mild. I wouldn't order this again. Price: $11.95. Food Grade (3/5). There's only one working restroom. It was clean, but was very stuffy. They had the window locked shut, so no fresh air. The restaurant looks rundown from the outside. It could use some fresh paint. Grade (2/5). Off-street parking. Overall, 3-stars. Good location near freeway, less than 2 miles from Kaiser Hospital, and down the road from Discovery Kingdom. Would I return? Yes! Old school Chinese food at reasonable prices. Fairgrounds Drive goes straight to the freeway heading South.
