    Undercooked inside the potsticker
    Young S.

Ordered $130 of takeout. The potstickers were not cooked throughly as the inside was still doughy. The poor quality of styrofoam containers was evident as both top and bottom of the containers melted into the food. I called and the owner told me that everyone in the area uses the same styrofoam containers. She didn't apologize for the food getting contaminated with the melted plastic. The chow fun noodles were overcooked. The Mandarin spare ribs tasted of freezer burn. Ambiance was dark and no lights were on inside.

Dinner plate B: sweet and sour chicken, broccoli and beef, shrimp fried rice, 2 fried prawns and egg roll Price: 21.45

I came for the food, not the ambiance--and I wasn't disappointed. To my surprise, the chicken retained its crunch despite being coated in a sweet and sour marinade, which had a pleasant flavor. The rice was fluffy and well-seasoned. The broccoli was firm, the beef tender, and the prawns had a satisfying crunch while remaining juicy. The egg roll wasn't my cup of tea, but it might be yours. Price: 21.45

I'd give it 4 stars for the affordability and overall quality and taste of the food. We came in on a Saturday around 2PM and were unsure if they were offering dine in. The lady behind the counter said yes and handed us two takeout menus. We sat and looked over the menus and when ready had to go up to the booth to order, where I was also rung up at the time of ordering. We ordered two lunch specials: mongolian beef with chow mein, general chicken with fried rice, and an order of potstickers. The potstickers came out quickly but were pretty bland inside and the wrappers were really thick (we didn't even finish one whole one). The lunch specials we ordered came out soon after in to- boxes. I found it odd that the mongolian beef was sauteed with zucchini and carrots as I'm used to it being an onion forward dish. It still tasted good, just different than I expected. The rest of the food was great and nothing to complain about! Id definitely return If I find myself in Vallejo again.

Re my to go orders, the lady cashier cooked the pork wonton soup and the male cook did the sweet and sour pork. The sweet and sour pork is a bit on the really sweet and quite very sour side. But I was satisfied because it was a considerable portion and the meat inside was juicy, not dry and old. The wonton soup has very soggy Napa cabbage. At first I was impressed because the container seemed like it has many wontons in it. But my happiness turned into major disappointment because the soup tastes nothing beyond chicken powder seasoning. The meat in the wonton is quite red and scary, too. I am sorry to say that I feel like I threw my money in the garbage bin.

We ordered the chicken karaage which came out really quickly and had big pieces of chicken, perfect seasoning, wasn't too much and it had like a sriracha sweet mayo dipping sauce. My mom wanted the seafood ramen and my dad wanted the wonton ramen. I know they don't eat too much so I figured to share with them and just ask for an extra bowl. My parents don't like spice so I asked for them to not have any spice in it. Their wonton ramen was a tonkatsu base and it was pretty good. They had huge mandu style wontons that I enjoyed with the bakchoy and hard boiled egg. The seafood ramen is the most expensive and it comes with shrimp, fish balls, bamboo, corn, sprouts, boiled egg and green onions. The shrimp were huge pieces and I enjoyed the ramen noodles. The flavoring tasted like regular ramen to me. Overall it was a busy flow for a Saturday night both with people ordering take out and those dining in. They also have sodas and Hawaiian bbq plates to order plus tons of other sides you can get ala cart. Service was quick! It's not too bright inside, the walls are covered but you can partially see outside.

As for the bún bò Huế, I actually asked the waiter about it beforehand and she mentioned it wasn't very traditional and that she personally didn't prefer it. Honestly, I should've trusted that. It wasn't terrible, but it definitely wasn't the best or what I was hoping for. I'll stick to their pho moving forward. I also ordered a to-go soup for my dad, and this is where things were disappointing. The packaging just isn't great -- especially compared to other pho spots nearby. The soup was spilt all inside the trunk of the car. They don't double-bag it, the container itself felt slippery and not very secure. In my opinion, pho like this can be a bit hazardous for takeout if it's not packaged well. To be fair, the spill of the box was partially my fault while juggling my phone, but the container didn't help the situation. I'm mainly sharing this as feedback on the takeout packaging. For me, this is a place I'd rather dine in than order to-go. Overall, it's not a bad spot -- the pho is solid -- but it's not quite my go-to. I'd come back, just with adjusted expectations.

There's one thing that I come for (because I can't find it anywhere else) and it's their fried shrimp cake. If there's one thing I recommend ordering when you come here it's that! For my main I got the vermicelli bowl with bbq beef and egg roll. My girlfriend got their pho. Both were really good and the portion sizes and value is totally there. They don't skimp on the meats and don't trip if you ask for extra fish sauce. I think I learned that I don't like vermicelli bowls as much as I do rice plates and pho. While it's done well, I'd opt for the rice plates or pho instead. The service here is still top notch. The food comes out ridiculously quick and is what I would call a true hidden gem in Vallejo. I first heard about this place on social media when a few prominent food bloggers reviewed this spot and said their wings were the best wings outside of the legendary wing spot located in San Francisco. So I watched the videos and saw the pictures and I was truly excited to try them out. Well Mothers Day rolled around this year and I needed to bring an appetizer to my mothers party we were having that day in American Canyon & the idea of finally trying out their legendary dish was my entire focus. Driving down from Sacramento to get this dish wasn't the easiest of drives on a holiday but I was determined. I called my order in and as the saying goes, the worst the service the better the food-well I was pretty sure my food was going to be legendary based on that phone call. I ended up ordering both the Garlic Sauce Wings($15.95) and the Salt & Pepper Wings($15.95) This restaurant shares a decent sized parking lot with multiple tenants-so parking is not an issue. The neighborhood isn't the best part of Vallejo but I haven't had any issues yet with car security during my visits. When I arrived the restaurant was pretty busy but I noticed a worker had a full table that was full just for To-Go orders and I walked up to her and she handed me my receipt so I could go up to the cashier and pay. 5 minutes later I was in my car totally engrossed with the smell of this amazing chicken. I consider myself a true chicken wing expert and when I say these wings were pure flavor bliss-I truly mean it. The garlic sauce wings were a mix of sweet and savory and garlic with a slight spice-a wet wing experience that makes my mouth water just thinking back on. The salt and pepper wings were perfectly seasoned and a bite of that wing paired with the onion and Jalapeno toppings that come with the dish, can only be described as pure excellence. The chef truly has mastered the recipe and cooking technique on both of these dishes. Fun fact-due to various events in my life,I've had to drive to the Bay Area a few times since Mothers Day-I've been to this restaurant three times now in less than a week-I would say the love affair with this restaurant is burning quite hot at the moment.

To be fair, I've never had San Tung's wings before. Now I have to try to compare them. Family owned so if you come late, they're pretty backordered from dine in, but primarily takeout it seems. The sauce is soy sauce based - salty goodness. Wish there was actually some heat (there are chili peppers, but not spicy at all). Felt like it was more decorative since it didn't add any flavor... Onions are great, wish there were more as well. Rice is charged per person, so they just gave us a bowl - presumably you can refill? We also tried the honey walnut prawns, which were okay. Not a ton of shrimp but reasonably priced. Leaned more on the tangy mayo side than sweet, would probably try something different next time instead to accompany the wings.
