I was in town visiting a friend and decided to grab dinner here as it's her families go-to spot. The menu was extensive, offering lunch time deals, dinner deals, and a la carte items all served family style. We did the family dinner package for 3 people (granted 1 was a child), and there was enough food for 6 people. The portions are huge, full of flavor and quality products. We opted for hot tea and water instead of drinks, and the service was on par with a restaurant of this size. Our chow mein did take longer than the other items to come out, but it was scorching hot when it came out so we know they were making it fresh. I think the chow mein was my favorite dish, and there was plenty left over. The restaurant had a few tables full, but the noise wasnt loud and we were able to have a good conversation. There also was a constant rotation of food delivery drivers so I can only assume this place is just as good for take out as it was for dinning in.

    Fried chicken wings

I ordered fried chicken wings, and what I received was not fried chicken wings. I've ordered and eaten wings plenty of times, and these were nothing like any chicken wings I've ever had. This wasn't about the picture on the menu--I know what fried chicken wings look like, and this wasn't it. Very disappointed and won't be ordering here again.

Szechuan Chinese Cuisine has been in Vallejo since I was a kid, and I'm very happy to see it still operating. This place serves authentic Chinese cuisine--very delicious, very affordable, and very nostalgic. Customer service was great, too. My family and I ordered the following: - Fried Egg Rolls and Wonton - A classic appetizer. Loved the crispiness, though the fried wontons seemed a bit burnt. - Egg Drop Soup - Also a classic--very warm and soothing. Unlike other egg drop soups, this one had so many more ingredients, which I appreciated. - Vegetarian Delight - This dish didn't look very appetizing, but it was surprisingly full of flavor. Definitely a highlight on their menu. - Sweet and Sour Chicken - Enjoyed the balance of tangy and umami flavors. The chicken was drenched in sauce but still very crispy. - Beef Fried Rice - I wish we had ordered two because this was my favorite! Rich in flavor--I could eat this by itself. I really enjoyed my experience here and definitely recommend it! Great for family dining or even large groups.

Waitress packed our to-go left overs which are eggroll, sesame chicken and fried rice. This is the to-go box all crammed in..smh

To-go leftover all crammed in...smh..see photo. Waitress said this is how they packed leftover. This is my 1st encounter of this kind of service here and the 1st time I was extremely disappointed at this establishment

    Genius #1 disturbing the peace.

8 June 2024 So the wife wanted to go out to lunch and I wanted to stay home and read John Stuart Mills 'On Liberty.' The restaurant is unassuming on the outside. We entered and were seated dismissively. Our table with a backward placement and a bit of another customer's rice. The place was almost empty when we arrived but two other tables were soon seated. The vinyl seat cushions are old and I need to squirm a bit to relax my tailbone. Soon, one seated genius starts playing cartoons on his phone? Are you kidding me? My wife shakes her head in disbelief because I always have bad luck like this. Next, genius number two turns up the volume on his electronic best friend. I remind my wife of an old saying of mine. "Go to a dollar establishment and you eat with dollar people." Some have no consideration for other customers. Food arrives and it is pretty tasty. Wife is Happy with the price and the taste. Several more customers enter and the place is half full. Some of these are greeted as regulars. The front window with decades of scotch tape needs a good scraping and some squeegee love. The bill is low and food is good so we might stop by again, now that we know what to expect and what we're paying for. The fortune cookie sets an interesting tone for me out the door.

App ribs, mongolian beef and pork chow mein

I called Grub Hub while visiting my family so I can't say much about anything but the food. I loved the food! The Mongolian beef was excellent! There were lots of green peppers and beef and onions but they didn't overpower the beef flavor. The chow mein had plenty of pork and other things all melted into the noodles. It was a light flavor, not heavy with the oil it was cooked in. The ribs really surprised me. I expected the same old 4 pieces of ribs. Instead I received a box that had about 20-25 pieces of ribs that were about an inch long. They were tender and juicy and just the right size. They did have a bone so be careful. I will be back on my next visit. I will visit often.

    128. Chinese Eggplant with Bean Curd Has way too much sugar
    Jerome M.

After 2 years we gave this restaurant another try. Spending $125+ it's a huge disappointment. I WILL NOT ORDER FROM THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN. I DO NOT recommend this restaurant. 1. The hot and sour soup is watered down, too much sugar, and is not 'hot nor sour'. It's horrible. 2. The vegetarian eggplant with bean curd dish has too much sugar in it. 3. The appetizer spicy crispy chicken wings are very bland and has no flavor

I remember meeting an out of town friend here for lunch back in the mid-1990's. The place has old school decor, and a great location near the freeway and down the road from the Discovery Kingdom Park. I was there on a Saturday over Labor Day weekend. It was dinner time (6pm) and the place was empty. The hot food steam table was no longer in use. They have the same old style tables and booths. I was greeted by my server/waitress Janet, and she offered me a booth by the window. Service was great! Grade (5/5).....because for about 30-mins, I was the only customer in the dining room. They had lots of pickup and delivery orders. My server told me they lost alot of business after they raised prices. I ordered Wor Won Ton Soup and Walnut Prawns. The Walnut Prawns were very good. The prawns were fresh and plump. The sauce was creamy and the flavor was good. You get 14 prawns and lots of chopped walnuts. Price: $14.95. The Wor Won Ton Soup was average. This is my favorite dish to order. My bowl had 8-9 dumplings, lots of bok choy, some shrimp, and some beef and chicken strips. The broth was mild. I wouldn't order this again. Price: $11.95. Food Grade (3/5). There's only one working restroom. It was clean, but was very stuffy. They had the window locked shut, so no fresh air. The restaurant looks rundown from the outside. It could use some fresh paint. Grade (2/5). Off-street parking. Overall, 3-stars. Good location near freeway, less than 2 miles from Kaiser Hospital, and down the road from Discovery Kingdom. Would I return? Yes! Old school Chinese food at reasonable prices. Fairgrounds Drive goes straight to the freeway heading South.

The minced pork sauce clung onto them really really well. The minced pork had a nice balance of sweet and savory, although it leaned towards a little sweeter than I personally prefer. But it wasn't a problem at all, since I was able to adjust the flavor to make it more savory by using the Chicken Granules, Cumin, Chili Oil, and White Pepper condiments. Overall, it was a very satisfying dish! We also tried their new shaved ice dessert. It wasn't like the Hawaiian style shaved ice which is based on frozen water, but more like Korean style Bingsoo with a milky shaved ice base. The flavor and texture were both good, but I thought it was missing the toppings. It relied solely on syrup, and I think it would've been much better with fresh fruit or other toppings to add more flavor. It was $5.99 per order as of July 2026.

Got Pig Ears and Cold noodles take out at the end: very good. Not too salty. Service was quick, accurate and finely. Very clean, simple store. Not overly decorated. Parking was easy. I ordered take out, one order of house fried rice, one order of orange chicken, and one order of sweet and sour pork. Everything was tasty and looked like it was made from scratch. Was it freshly prepared? Not likely. I was in and out the door in less than ten minutes. No way they could prepare this food that fast. Portions were big enough to serve 3-4 people no problem. The bill was a bit of a sticker shock, about $54 for everything. Would I go back? Probably not. Panda is about a mile from us and the two of us can eat there for $20-ish.
