I stopped by for lunch to try the food before deciding whether to order catering for my job. The food was actually pretty good. The lo mein noodles were very flavorful, and the General Tso's chicken was extra crispy and fresh, so fresh it almost burned my tongue when I first bit into it. Unfortunately, the service was terrible. When I tried to ask my server about the difference between a few menu items, he abruptly said, "What do you want to order? If you're not ready, I'll come back." I should've walked out then, but I didn't. Another server later took my order and was much nicer and more helpful. My hot and sour soup came out first, it wasn't bad, but it had way too much black pepper. Then when my main dish arrived, the same rude server immediately dropped the check on the table and said, "Your check, pay," before I had even taken a bite. I got the pot stickers and hot and sour soup and my husband got the Mongolian chicken plate with wonton soup The pot stickers were hot and crispy best ones I've had very good as well as the soup. I ordered to go last night at 9:30 PM. Online their website says they close at 10:30 PM. I order and the lady taking my order is very very aggressive and rude while taking my order. She tells me that they no longer deliver after 9 o'clock, which is fine. I can come and pick it up because I only live three minutes away. I did ask her to make my dish with fried rice instead of white rice. She proceeds to get a nasty attitude and tells me that at 9:47 PM they will be closing if I am not there in three minutes she then began to get loud when I got frustrated saying online says that you close at 10:30 PM NOT 9:46pm. Her overall attitude, demeanor and nastiness made me never want to eat at this restaurant again. I tried to call back and she blocked my number from calling the restaurant. Do not eat at this low service restaurant. There is a reason that the reviews are only a 2.9. I hope this restaurant does not succeed with a nasty attitude like that. My wife and I have been coming here for over 30 years, we share a lot of memories here so we were in Oakwood today and decided to eat lunch there, the food was OK but the service was slow we had to ask for To-go boxes and we never got a refill for our drinks , when we got the check and then I discovered the gratuity was added to the check (25%) Now I always tip between 15-20% that's not the issue when asked about it we were told it is BECAUSE it's Sunday- and it was not posted anywhere on the doors, counter or on the check so if you don't read the check you possibly could leave another tip on top of that. And they will not remove the tip! So in closing we will not go back They lost a 30 year customer over this TIPP policy that is not POSTED or makes any sense. read more

I have eaten here many times. The food is okay. They push you in and push you out like cattle. I had lunch a few weeks ago. I ordered a spicy chicken dish. It was so hot it burned my throat when I swallowed. I told the server who was very impatient with me. So what do you want. I was trying to drink water to speak. He said I have other people to see. Walked off and the Chinese women at the register barged up to me in fron if everyone and said what do you want? Before I could say anything she snatched my plate of food and threw it on the plastic bin for dirty dishes. The plate broke and everyone looked at me. I finally got to leave and she said you have to pay for it. I don't care. I paid and she had the nerve to tell me don't order that again. I told her she was supposed to be nice to customers. She didn't give a damn as long as I paid. I told her in front of everyone that she was a bitch and never be back. Sorry to report only negative findings this , our final visit. Portions shrunk, were cold, prices WAY up, and hostess was somewhere between rude and confrontational. Restaurant was clean, however. Oh this place was great when it was Lee's Golden Buddha but now it's just Golden Buddha. Definitely under new ownership as most the recipes have changed or fixed by people that just don't care. It's really sad because this place was awesome. Now the hot and sour soup just taste sour as well as the wonton soup is so clear I thought it was water. We ate lunch we greeted a younger lady at the front counter she said feel free to sit anywhere you want. As my son was under the weather today I decided to let him pick about halfway through the restaurant towards the back where he likes to sit. A server came out and she kind of briefly pointed to one table when my son chose one to table down she was very irritated that we decided to sit there. I told her I'm sorry the lady in front said he could sit wherever he wanted to. The guy that took our order was pretty nice brought our food outside. But that was about the end of the service. Right after the food hit our table the bill was next and then I did not see anyone till I flagged someone down to get another drink. I was able to get the sprite but no one ever check if we wanted refills. Also had to wait 10+ minutes for someone for come by to get togo containers. I know Lees Golden Buddha was never Michelin star type Chinese food but wow the bar has been set really low here now! I am just sad my phone was in the car and I did not get any pictures. I was out and about in town and needed to grab something to eat. I went here before the pandemic, but I don't know what changed because it was not the same. I thought having some shrimp egg foo young would do the trick. Not what I was expecting. Evidently, the egg foo young is covered with saucy vegetables and sitting on the bottom of the sauce and vegetable mixture thereby getting it soggy. Not good anymore. Quality has gone waaaaaay downhill. Beef has been extremely tough and 2/3 gristle every time lately so we stopped getting beef. Chicken and broccoli still says it has bamboo shoots and water chestnuts on the menu but ours was literally just chicken and broccoli in a flavorless sauce. And cost $15+!! Sweet and sour chicken had half the other stuff in it that it usually does. It had a decent amount of pineapple but hardly any onions or carrots. And the onions are TINY pieces now. About 1/4 the size they used to be. As much as they charge, the quality ought to be way better. It is so disappointing getting take out anymore. You place an order. It's repeated back. A name was given of who was picking up the order. The order came by my cellphone name and not who was picking up. You get it home and two dishes are not right. One missing and one not what we ordered. Call them right away. Get the run around. My mother and I were there today 3/2/25. The negatives: 1. The lady at the entrance where you ask for a table was very rude to me, twice before we ever sat down. My mom is 81 and we wanted a booth. Why she was irritated, who knows. 2. Second on the list, this is such a noisy restaurant you'd think it was Cracker Barrel. To clear the dishes from a table they just slam and slosh everything into this rolling cart filled with dirty dishes, slop from the leftovers and glasses, etc. Very unappetizing. This is not a large restaurant. Is it really so hard to just gather the dishes and take them to the kitchen? 3. My mom and I both ordered hot tea and we like separate pots. I'm glad we ordered them because after your food arrives, you won't see your server again. 4. Perhaps that is why they put the gratuity as part of your bill. Now, I think that by law they have to give you a total and THEN suggest a gratuity. I would bet $50 the waitress doesn't see that money. Very disappointing. Had I been given the chance, I would have given her a larger tip and I would have made sure SHE received it. The positives: 1. The bathroom was clean. To us, that tells us how clean the kitchen is. 2. The food was OK. Nothing to call home about but not bad. But the portions and the quality were missing. My wonton soup contained ONE wonton broken up into pieces. There was no whole wonton. What the what? You'd think someone could have given me a whole wonton since you only get one. I'd give this place a "C-". Will I be going back soon? I guess the next time I need to be greeted crossly, given mangled food and skimpy portions, when I want to have to yell over the racket made by the employees, and when I want to be charged for something that's not food, I guess so. My total for lunch with tax and mandatory tip was more than $16 AND they didn't give me a receipt. For more than $16, I could have gone to Longhorn. And I would have been able to choose my tip (so that the SERVER gets it) and would have been given a receipt. Neither my mother or myself received a receipt (we like to go dutch when we eat out, as we are both retired educators). I used to really like this place years ago. But tonight we ordered it again via Uber Eats after a long hard day of work and it was EASILY THE WORST, NASTIEST Chinese food we've ever had IN OUR LIVES !!! We ordered 3 dishes - General Zhou's, Kung Pao and Chicken Fried rice. We didn't receive the Kung Pao at all - instead we got some gross orange chicken thing. The chicken in all 3 dishes was rubbery and fatty and tasted like it was cooked in old oil. I'm not even sure it was chicken! Our special instructions weren't followed at all on the fried rice and there was zero seasoning in the rice, so we couldn't even eat that. 3 strikes out of 3 dishes. $60 later there was nothing we could even bring ourselves to choke down even though all 3 of us were starving, and we dumped it all in the trash ... it was THAT BAD! Uber refunded me for 2 of my dishes, but I'm still out $20, including my delivery tip, because I can't expect that poor guy to pay for the restaurant's poor quality. And on top of it all, we're still starving and now I have to find something else for everyone for dinner. We will never order from here again, and if I were you, I wouldn't risk it, either! I have to admit I have been coming here also for many years, many times for lunch in the 90s when I worked nearby, and now mostly take out. I may only go 3-4 times a year, but somehow they always remember me when I walk in the door, very courteous and great food! Since I usually order standards like Moo Goo Gai pan or sesame chicken, it's always fresh, lots of veggies, great egg rollls and egg drop soup, generous amounts of rice to go ( most do!) but very happy here now that I'm living nearby again. I call in and order about 10 minutes before I get there and they hand it to me when I walk in the door. I've never had bad service or been treated bad so very happy they are still around. Been a while since I went to the one in Buford, but they were always spot on as well. Good food, service and staff- so I highly recommend if you're in the mood for Chinese or Tai. I called ahead to see if the dining room was open. Yes it was. Took my family of 5 for a Chinese dinner and it was just wonderful. I'm not sure if it is because we haven't had Chinese food in months or because every dish we had was as good as it could be. We ordered enough to have left overs but.........no doggie bag was needed. My neighbor recommended this restaurant over Wang's in Oakwood We were very disappointed it was so bad that we left an entire entree on the the table rather than bring it home which we usually do as we always have leftovers.
