It was mostly a pleasant experience, when we first came in, there was a little bit of a attitude, but otherwise the attitudes were adjusted and the rest of the visit with our server was good. We enjoyed the food, the portions were perfect. The closest to 'authentic' you'll find around here. I'm a well traveled foodie and this is definitely an Asian cuisine place that I would travel to eat at again.

Umami Way is one of the newest spots in Braselton (among many others in this quickly growing area). It features a variety of Asian comfort foods but mostly specializing in Chinese dishes. I travel to the area fairly frequently and I can't wait to come back and enjoy a meal at the restaurant and try something else. I ordered takeout online (which was extremely easy and they even had a tracker!) and it was done quickly. The restaurant itself looked like a good mix of elegant and casual on the inside. I made a mental note of the bar seating and multiple TVs for my next visit. I ordered the curry roti and kimchi fried rice. The roti itself was flaky goodness and chewy. The curry is more of a Japanese style curry than one that I'm used to featuring a coconut milk base but it was rich and full of flavor. Definitely something I was savoring after finishing. The kimchi fried rice was HUGE. They do not go easy in the chicken either. I had a piece of chicken and kimchi in almost every bite it was so satisfying. The fried rice was cooked perfectly and the kimchi flavor was not lacking. I would have liked a little more seasoning on the chicken but overall I enjoyed it. If you're in the area and are looking for something new to try with tons of variety go to Umami Way!

Finally stopped by to try for dinner. Service was friendly. The only thing that I have to complain about is the cook forgot to add an ingredient to my dinner that makes the flavor really happen for the fish. It's supposed to have pickled mustard greens in it. What I got was really just Peppered Beef. It took us questioning it twice before the manager saw that it was missing the greens and he had them remake it. The new one came out and tasted COMPLETELY different (and exactly what I was looking for) than the other version. I'm glad we spoke up. The dish is SO much better with that cooked with it. It would have been a 5 star review if the staff included it originally, but I'm glad they fixed it. They will be worth trying again. The menu looks diverse so I plan to try other items.

I believe their specialty leans more toward Chinese cuisine rather than other dishes on the menu. The portion sizes were relatively large, which was nice, but the ramen broth reminded me more of pho, and the chicken pad thai was a bit bland for my taste. Overall, it just wasn't quite what I was expecting, so I'm not sure I'd come back.

I wanted more flavor from the Pho broth. But everything else was a hit. Crab Rangoon was tasty. Service was good, especially on a busy Saturday evening. Love the look of this place. Great decor and positive vibes. Food could be better. Very accommodating wish they had more space for larger groups. I'll try again later.

Their Szechuan food and Pad Thai was delicious. I'll be coming back to try more dishes.

Excellent food! My 8-year-old said the Mongolian beef was the best he's ever had. We will be back very soon.

Which I really loved! Everything was hot and fresh! Most of my experiences with general tso's (for pick up or delivery) have been that the chicken skin is soggy. Or the chicken is tough. Not here though. The chicken had the perfect amount of sauce, flavor, and spice. And it wasn't spice just for heat. It was actually a good blend of spice and seasoning. The chicken skin had a little crunch to it and the chicken itself was tender and juicy. The fried rice was just brown rice, but that's ok. (In the 90's, fried rice came with onions, green peas, & carrots. But things have changed since the 2000's but I'm still adjusting to that lol). Overall, a great experience and I will be back!

It was also nice to see photos of customers who celebrated there in the past. We made reservations for hibachi but had to wait a little bit before the table was ready, but I appreciated that the staff was communicative about the delay. Staff was nice and attentive. The hibachi show was fun and entertaining, one of the more enjoyable ones I've seen! My husband enjoyed the sake and the ginger salad was very fresh, dressing was great as well. The soup was clear with a clean taste. The hibachi fried rice was aromatic and buttery. However, the noodles were not cooked on the hibachi grill, it came out before any of our meat/vegetables were cooked. Our shrimp and filet mignon was seasoned with a little bit of salt and pepper and was cooked perfectly. We shared an order of the fancy roll and spider roll. Both were delicious and beautifully present! I would recommend both! The restaurant also gives you a small complimentary slice of cake after the meal which was a great added bonus! We were told the dessert was made in house and flavors rotate which is pretty neat. Overall a really good experience!

What I found instead felt like a small echo of what the place used to be. The food has shrunk in size while the prices have climbed, which makes the whole experience feel out of balance. I ordered the bao because it used to be the star of the show for me. I still remember the way they were fried on one side before, with that golden crisp that added texture and soul to every bite. This time the bao arrived soft and much smaller than I remembered. The flavor was fine, but the magic was missing. It felt like the memory of a painting that has faded over time. I do want to say that the staff were kind and welcoming. They suggested a hibachi special, which I was not interested in, but they made the attempt to guide my order. Their warmth was the best part of the visit. I left with a sense of nostalgia for what used to be. Maybe the menu has evolved or costs have changed, but the experience simply did not match the picture I carried with me. I hope the place finds its rhythm again, because it once held a special spot in my rotation.

We tried three specialty rolls and one cooked roll, and everything tasted really fresh. The miso soup was authentic and comforting, and the cucumber salad had a fun, unique presentation.
