If you are a smaller job, look elsewhere. Unfortunately with a smaller job you will get the "C" team. The color was wrong and the finish on the floor began peeling up less than 2 weeks in. The attitude was "that's the color you picked" and the "floor needs to sit longer" with no drive to make it right. The whole floor should have been redone but they sure as heck weren't going to do that. Moving forward, we had to have a section of the floor refinished due to damage and used a different outfit. Fortunately they were able to match the color but as soon as they saw the floor, they immediately commented on the peeling and how the finish was applied incorrectly because that shouldn't be happening. The section they completed is far superior to the rest of the floors Lee's completed. We did our due diligence but unfortunately the positive reviews didn't match the service. read more

Lee's Hardwood Floors did an incredible job on our kitchen update. We wanted our hardwoods extended into the kitchen, replacing the vinyl that had been there. Their price was reasonable enough that my husband said we should go ahead and have them do our stairs too. We had them remove the carpeting and place down brand new treads. I painted the risers white, and our stairs look absolutely gorgeous now. And our kitchen is now a showstopper. We couldn't be more pleased. We recently had our hardwoods refinished by Lee's. There are lines in the floors from the sanding, the stain is uneven, and there are still places where it looks as though the stain did not take at all. For three weeks we had them come and try and fix the problems. The last time they sent guys out with furniture pens. Really! If it wasn't for the friendly office staff I would give them 1 star. After spending over $11,000, I am very disappointed in their work. read more

I just had Lee's Hardwood Floors replace the carpet in our master bedroom with hardwood floors to match the hardwoods in the rest of our downstairs. They did a wonderful job. In order to best match the other rooms, the floors needed oil based poly vs water based. Their team of workers is very professional, shows up to work as expected and is meticulous in their work. Lees Hardwood Floors did a real professional job installing my new family room floor. They helped me match my foyer hardwood by providing multiple samples and helping me match the color by exchanging phone text photographs. Their showroom is very nice with lots of options, and their staff is very helpful. The quality of the workmanship was very good, writing this review 5 months after installation. Their workers all wore masks during the COVID-19 pandemic. After removing my carpet, they nailed down my floor plywood very well, got all the squeaks out, leveled the floor, and brought in the hardwood to sit in my house for 10 days to adjust to the humidity of my house. In the days after installation, I noticed a register vent not sitting level, and one floor plug was a bit loose. Lees HW Floor sent a worker to resolve these issues right away. After Lee's Hardwoods charged my credit card for my $1,500 deposit, I was advised I had to sign paperwork releasing them from any and all damage they may do to my home while re-sanding and finishing my floors. I did not sign the paperwork and they cancelled the job saying they will refund my money with a "check in the mail". Examples given to me by Tina Lee: If a guy puts a handprint on wall that won't wipe off, they will not be responsible for repainting the wall. WHAT? Yep, that's right. I would have to pay for their damage to my walls when they're coming to restore floors? In this case, I would have to pay to paint the entire downstairs and stairway because they can't keep their hands off the walls or other sloppiness. At no time during the sales process, and certainly not before they took my $1,500 deposit, did anyone mention that small little detail. read more

I have used Lee's Hardwood Floors 2 times. Both times they were fast and efficient. When I hired them the 1st time, I felt like they were the most knowledgable about what my needs were as compared to the other estimates I got. The 2nd time I hired them was years later to extend what they had already done as well as MATCH color to existing hardwoods. Color matching is very difficult to do when floors were installed 3 different times years apart. They do excellent work. The best flooring selection in the Triangle with the most knowledgeable staff. They are helpful, explained everything to me and knew their stuff. Daniel was completely honest with me concerning what to expect. The other two companies I talked to breezed through the estimate and didn't tell me nearly as much as he did about how my old floors would look after refinishing. We bought a new home and decided to get the floor in the breakfast nook changed over to hardwood and then have the rest of our floors downstairs refinished. They were able to meet our deadline to get it done prior to moving into the house. We were on a strict timeline because we had to move out of our apartment. They were done on time and did an amazing job. The floors look absolutely incredible. Also, they brag a lot about the vacuum system they use during the sanding process. Let me tell you it worked great. I have heard about how dusty the house can get after sanding and refinishing. It has been absolutely minimal cleanup on our end. I used Lee's Hardwood Floors services, in the 1980's, with good results. When I moved to another house, I called upon their services again. They installed/refinished the wood floors in the main sections of my house: living/dining/halls/kitchen/family rooms. It has been two years since that work was done. Even living with a dog, cat and not-so-neat husband, the floors still look brand new with no issues. The crew members paid attention to details and caused no damage to the walls and/or house. They moved my furniture, to the garage and back, with no damage. They were polite, patient, and professional addressing all of my questions/concerns. Selecting the stain was stress-free as they placed stain samples in each room. The crew wanted to make sure that I liked the way it looked in each room; before selecting the exact color. Better yet, they admittedly "FORGOT" to polyurethane and install molding in the Master Bath. Came home to a nightmare, spare yourselves, because they could care less how you feel about it. I have no idea how they stayed in business for 30 years, a similar sentiment from the multiple issues I saw on the Better Business Bureau against this "company".. Lee's Hardwood floor refinished our existing floors from a natural to a dark stain, plus added hardwood floors in our living room, up the stairs and the hallway upstairs. Also, updated banisters and balusters. My floors look fabulous - exactly as I wanted. The transition from old flooring to new is invisible, the finish is excellent. But it isn't just the end result - it was the process. Heather sent me a schedule of what to expect on each day of the process and it happened just like she said it would. After gathering estimates from three local flooring companies I hired Lee's, they weren't the cheapest estimate but the gentleman who came to give the estimate impressed me. He was more knowledgeable about his products and what options might work for our older home than the other estimates I received. Lee's refinished about 1,200 sq ft of our 1966 original oak hardwood floors and installed new oak hardwoods in one room, weaving old and new floors together and finishing them both to match. The installers that laid the new flooring encountered water damaged sub-floor when they pulled up the ancient brick linoleum. They stayed late that night replacing the sub-floor and laying the new wood so the project would stay on schedule for sanding the next day. I picked one stain color with the ladies in the Lee's showroom but then decided on a lighter color once I saw the stain on the floor in my house the substitution was no problem. I'm thrilled with how our floors turned out, what once was old now looks new again! read more

And he warned us that hardwood flooring was not a project you wanted to skimp on in any way. So we took his advice and chose Lee's for our floors and we are very glad we did. We were extremely pleased with the service and workmanship provided by Lee's. The office staff was very helpful in selecting the best stain for our hardwoods and in selecting Alterna tiles for our laundry room. Every step of the process was explained fully to us and we were kept up to date on the project during installation. They did a beautiful job refinishing our exsisting hardwoods and installing new hardwoods in our kitchen. They also work with an outstanding stair installer who did a gorgeous job installing new stair railings and iron ballisters.
