This is a one of a kind emporium, most of the merchandise is targeted toward male millennials, but anyone can find something unique for someone in their lives. This is a fun, cozy and well stocked store in downtown Mystic. It's mostly a place for men but there are many things that cater to all and it's a great place for anyone to get a gift for themselves or a friend. There are unique items that I had not seen at other places before which makes the place unique for fun gifts. It really it's hard to describe the variety of items here, so the best thing to do is to drop by next time you are in Mystic and enjoy some time browsing and shopping in here. read more

Unique "men's" provision store which offers a variety of interesting and unique products, but not necessarily only for men. I enjoyed browsing the store with my "man" and ended up getting a great birthday gift for my son. They have lots of nautical themed items, along with books, clothes and more. My wife made a huge mistake taking me to Trove. We don't usually stroll the downtown area in Mystic because usually we like avoiding big crowds but on this day we went shop to shop to check out what we have been missing. Like a kid in a candy shop, I couldn't stop finding cool things I wanted. My wife said no to most of them so next time she's not invited, hahaha. This is a really great shop if you are looking for a gift for the holidays, a birthday, Father's Day, Valentine's day, or just because. If you know someone who is into nautical decor, sports, smoking, drinking, reading, music, bathing, shaving, growing out their beard, golfing, fishing, going to the beach, staying in, playing board games, collectables, consumables, cooking, eating, smelling nice, or really anything at all... this place has it all. I could have spent a day in here and not seen everything there is to see. I am happy I took the time to stop in. Wasn't expecting to buy anything and I walked out with a full bag of treats for myself. Two pairs of swim trunks, nice two toned sweatshirt, a bar of soap and some cologne which will last me a lifetime. The staff were out going and friendly which made the small talk that more enjoyable. This is a guy's store! Love this place; all things men. From clothing, shoes, hats, hygiene items, cooking, drinking and more it is all there. Any man walks in and feels at home. It was definitely a cool shop! I went in not thinking I needed anything and I came out with the purchase of a comb for my mustache. I lost my previous comb and could not find one anywhere. I tried other items but just wasn't pleased but lo and behold they had a shave section and I found a comb there. Totally made my day. I would definitely go back and purchase other items. read more

What a fun little shop. You could spend hours looking around at all the amazing things they have. Displays full of interesting finds from high end shaving kits to all of your craft cocktail making needs. I couldn't stop taking pictures of everything as it is all photo-worthy. A great spot to shop for father's day or to pick up the perfect gift for the men in your life. I hate calling it a men's shop because there are so many things inside that can easily be gifted to anyone. read more

This store does not honor the price on the price tags! Unconscionable. Apparently the price tags are mere "suggestions". I was here on Monday, June 19th, 2023, 2:20pm. So manager, figure out who was working as I didn't get his name and ream him. I was in the process of purchasing a sweatshirt which was tagged for $56. All of the sweatshirts of this style were marked for $54 except the XXL which I needed to buy for a family member, and was thus priced at $56 - as expected, the XXLs are usually a tad more, so that's good, all is fine. There were probably 10 sweatshirts of this exact style in all sizes. So, I'm now at the payment desk and the salesman said, "hmmmm, sorry, but there's a problem with the price, it is actually $65. Is that ok?" I stared at him and said, "No, that is not ok. The tag says $56, which is the price I will pay." So this went on for a few back and forths and of course I asked for the manager who was not there and was also not available to call. This in Massachusetts, is against the law - it is a consumer law that the consumer pays what the tag states. So maybe CT is different or maybe, this place needs an audit. But definitely - this is ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE and unconscionable. I still can't believe it. Oh and duh, of course I did NOT buy the sweatshirt! It was a matter of principle. The consumer pays the price on the tag. If there was a problem with the tagging process and then when the item is scanned on the computer the problem is discovered - understood! But then, the consumer pays the price as marked ON THE TAG, goes on their way, then the employee takes all of the remaining items and retags them. Hello, Trove - got it??? That's how this works! BAD FORM, Trove, BAD FORM. And at least in MA, ILLEGAL! read more

A gentleman's shop, specializing in everything from barware to grooming products, high end apparel to various esoterica deemed 'masculine' in nature, Trove was a nice discovery while exploring downtown Mystic. Similar in vein to, say, Bull and Buck in Boston, the store has an agreeable aesthetic and trendy appeal, with a lot of cool, if not slightly overpriced items. However, that didn't necessarily discourage me from spending some money I saved for my visit in Mystic as a number of things caught my attention: a couple of t-shirts, a pair of shoes, and I also was curious about the fragrances at the register. One of them, Olivina Men Bourbon Cedar, piqued my curiosity as I heard good things about it, and I was curious to sample it. The man at the register recommended that I take care when spraying it, as it was an intense scent. I thought it might be best rather than to spray it on my skin or in the air, to spray it on paper. There weren't any paper strips to sample the fragrances, so I grabbed a business card at the counter. What followed was the appearance of another gentleman at the register, who immediately said, "I'd really appreciate it if you didn't use my business cards for that use" in a tone that came as a surprise to me. He then proceeded to explain that they were 'expensive.' I explained that I had intended to take the business card with me anyhow and then he handed over a paper bag for me to use instead. I presume this was the co-owner of Trove, and I have a message to relay to him: business cards are fair game for stuff like this. If you do not want someone to use your high-quality cardstock business cards, then might I suggest the aforementioned paper blotter strips. You can even make them yourself. Or, don't invest so much money on your business cards so that you would brusquely admonish a customer who could have very well spent some decent dough in your store. It could have been handled differently so that it didn't leave a sour taste with a potential customer. It discouraged me altogether and I was so embarrassed that I immediately left. Please just get paper blotter strips for your fragrances and be mindful of your tone, because you lost a customer in the way you handled the situation. read more

We were kicked out of the store due to the face that my 14 month old and 6 week old children were not wearing masks. The store worker offered to help us shop from the curb, but it is unreasonable to keep 2 small children out in the cold while we would shop for an indeterminate amount of time. This tyrannical act not only lost this store my business, but the business of another shopper who overheard my discussion with the store worker. I will certainly never shop here again, nor will I recommend this store to anybody I know. read more

Hands down the coolest store in downtown Mystic. Yes it is a store that specializes in "Man" provisions but my wife seemed to find some items for the house there! They have a very cool variety of products from old fashioned record players (with the modern upgrades and a wood finish) to bar-themed products. We ended up picking up some cast iron whale tail hooks for the bathroom. They also have some really cool steampunk style products as well. I thought the prices were reasonable and even some of the products were more expensive on Amazon-Ebay. They also offer a military discount. read more

Very cool store. We only had time for "a few stores", but spend the whole time in here instead, as there are a lot of unique items to look at. They also have a nice selection of mens boots and clothing. read more
