Rather than feeling confident and supported leading up to my wedding, I found myself feeling increasingly unsure and anxious. Here are some of the issues I encountered: 1. Late to my initial consultation: They were approximately 30 minutes late to my initial consultation, which was not a great first impression. 2. No follow-up regarding hair extensions: During my initial consultation, I specifically mentioned that I was interested in learning more about hair extensions. I was told a hair extension specialist would reach out to me, but I never heard from her. I eventually followed up myself to try to schedule a time to speak, but still received no response. I felt completely blown off. 3. Poor coordination after my hair trial: After my hair trial, I provided them feedback and questions as requested. Rather than addressing my questions, they attempted to upsell me on hair extensions--as though I had never previously asked about them. This was especially frustrating because I had already raised the topic and was previously blown off. It made me question how well my information, contract, and individual needs were being communicated internally. 4. Difficulty addressing my concerns: When I attempted to set up a call to discuss my concerns and rectify them, I received no communication about scheduling that conversation. Instead, they again tried to have the hair extension specialist reach out to me. At that point, I had already made it clear that I was no longer interested in hair extensions through them, so I did not understand why that was being presented as the solution to my concerns. 5. Delayed response times: Response times frequently took a week or longer. For someone planning a wedding, this created unnecessary stress and made me feel like my questions and concerns were not being treated with urgency. I booked with Pin Me Up Chicago based on their strong reviews and genuinely wanted to have a positive experience. Unfortunately, my experience was very different. By the end of the process, I no longer felt confident or comfortable moving forward with them for my wedding services, which ultimately led me to cancel my contract. The only positive part of my experience was that I was able to cancel my contract up to two weeks prior to my wedding. I hope they take this feedback seriously, particularly when it comes to communication, internal coordination, and making clients feel heard and supported throughout the wedding-planning process.
