The server was friendly. The speed of service was lacking. We didnt know there was a band (private party) there that night so it was loud(ish) even on the non-party floor (my fault I know). This is a very strange place to review. The location is very cute and the place itself is huge. They are by the water and have a great outdoor area. The inside is decorated kinda like a cabin, I think that's the look they are going for? Lol I've been there twice to eat and a couple of times I've gone there to hang out and dance. They are one of the places in the area that is open late and has a dj. The times I have eaten there I was hugely disappointed. One time we went on a Sunday for brunch and ended up waiting an hour for our food. We were told that some of the staff had called off. I can understand that but I would have appreciated being told that there may be a wait instead of us waiting for service and no one was around. The second time we ordered pizza and it was burnt. We alerted the server and she just looked at it and said oh. Not a good dining experience. The downstairs area that is open late is kinda like being at a house party. It's like a basement look with a bar and a DJ. It's good to get your dance on and grab a drink. The crowd can be a bit rough but I've gone with a group of friends and we have been ok. Lots of potential here but it just doesn't cut it. Good place to grab a drink, sit outside and especially fun if there is a band playing but other than that no other reason to visit. There's not a lot to choose from in this area and Lee'z Place has some great atmosphere. Right on the water, outside dining, and cold beer! But, the beer is more expensive than in Hinsdale and on many days, there's no waitstaff - it's self-serve. The bartender needs your CC to open a tab. No problem. When it was time to leave, he asked me if I wanted to leave it on the card. Sure, why not? After I got the bill is when I found out he tacked on a $3 CC fee on top of the $5 per beer. At $5 a beer, he has plenty of margin to cover any CC fee. And if he still feels the need to gouge the customer more, at least tell him upfront. read more

We went here for their amateur boxing night on the 30th which was ... quite an experience. They constantly reiterated that this was their first time doing something like this, but I really hope they make some changes to the format to make these events better. This review is JUST for the boxing arrangement, I have no idea what Lee'z is like on a normal night. So they set up the ring on one side of the upstairs, and used all of the chairs to create seating to the other side. The problem was, half the seats were being used by people to store their coats. It was like folks liked the idea of having a seat, but preferred to crowd around the bar or the bathrooms which made it super difficult to both get a drink and go to the bathroom. The security guys seemed like they tried to keep an aisle open, but no one was listening. The people who *did* decide they wanted a seat were constantly standing up randomly during the fights, so it was sort of pointless for there to even be chairs at all as this creates a domino effect of one person standing up, the person behind them standing up to see around them, etc. Overall the weird management of the crowd made it seemed like a huge lost opportunity for Lee'z to sell way more drinks (and food). We basically gave up on trying to get to the bar, and were pretty disappointed that the only food available was a single slice of a frozen pizza for ...$3? We ended up leaving during the intermission and just going somewhere else for food and drinks. If Lee'z does this again, I'd recommend the following changes: -Ditch the chairs entirely, they wasted a ton of space. -Have a second bar station on the opposite corner that's cash only, and just bottles/cans of beer that folks can quickly get. -Have simple fried food available for people to be able to order that's conducive to eat while standing, like mozzarella sticks and similar. We probably would've spent 5x as much money and stayed there the whole night, versus being like, "Do you want another beer? Eh, me neither, I don't feel like crowd surfing through people just standing around for a Busch Light." Also, I know there was some snow on the ground but they had to know they were getting a huge crowd that night. There should have been someone managing the parking lot as it was a complete and total clusterf*ck. When we left I was totally shocked that we weren't double parked and were actually able to leave. read more

We have been wanting to try this place and finally did. Everything we ordered was excellent, especially for bar food. Loaded cheese fries were amazing, southwest eggrolls were amazing, and pizza and drinks were great. Definitely will be returning. The missing star was because we sat outside and had to order inside and go get our food and drinks at the bar and carry it outside n had to ask them to turn on lights outside at night when it got dark. Staff was super friendly and despite ordering inside, place was great food n great people. Place has lots of potential to be a better atmosphere. read more

This place is a joke. The food is less than subpar! The staff can be aggressive. The staff also only pay's attention to friends and regulars. The regulars are all riffraff and extremely loud. It's too bad too because it's a great location that could be used for a family fun atmosphere. read more

Enjoy going here when I can. Some fun games in side the bar and upstairs but the best is boating up in the summer. I wish they had better boat parking as it get difficult to park with a big boat have to also have trim up all the way for you will break your prop. Great place! Staff is so friendly and talkative. They also have the bar and restaurant separate I got to tell you nothing ruins a drinking night then evil stares from parents because you told a inappropriate joke within earshot of their kid. So this place is great, you get great food without the cost of being forced around children. 10/10 would reccomend! read more

I love Lee'z place we've hosted a couple events here and it worked out perfect for us. They have DAMN good pizza and crazy specials during the week. The $28 surf and turf is amazing; includes: ribeye, shrimp, crab AND either tots and fries. Their soups are fantastic and fries are great. read more

Went here for all you can eat crab on Thursday and I was expecting a gimmick like most restaurants present for all you can eat crab; as in they don't visit your table often to refill the crab or don't cook the crab right. They did such a good job on making sure me and my husband were treated right. Waiter was attentive and friendly. Food was great. Highly recommend this place. read more
