If I could give negative stars, I would. My boyfriend's daughter was in an accident and had her car towed here. My boyfriend went to get her purse out of her car at her request. Ryan was extremely rude, refusing to give it to him even after he confirmed with his daughter that she requested it. Ryan made him stand and wait for thirty minutes. When Ryan did retrieve the purse from her car he was yelling at my boyfriend and literally threw the purse at him. Then he grabbed other items from the car and threw those at him as well. He proceeded to verbally berate my boyfriend, even as he was walking away. Ryan even went so far as to question his parenting! My boyfriend was completely flabbergasted at his behavior, which was truly verbally assaultive. I will never bring a vehicle to him, as I would be afraid of Ryan's verbal abuse and poor behavioral control. read more

Don't take your car here! My 2007 Mazda3 that had a bad fob battery. It had sat for 2 months and when I got back it wouldn't start. The car's battery was charged but it just wouldn't turn over. I didn't realize the fob battery was dead and had it owed to LeFebvres on the advice of a friend. They charged over $300 to diagnose a dead battery in the fob, even though an OBD reader provides codes for immobilizer problems. Anyway, I didn't know why it wouldn't start when it was towed and I asked them to diagnose it and provide an estimate and also inspect the car. The next day they called and said the car was fixed and it took 3.5 hours to figure out the fob's battery was dead. They charged $315 to diagnose it. They said the car failed state inspection because the headlights were "dirty" and wanted $75 to clean them. No thanks. Then suggested an oil change / tire rotation. I asked how much it would cost. They wanted to know if the car took synthetic oil & while I was looking up the specs (on the phone) the guy said he looked it up and it takes 5W-20 so the oil change would be $40. I said ok. When I went to pick up the car 2 hours later, the bill was $431. I squawked. The chief mechanic came out and said they had to work on the car for 6.5 hours to figure out the key fob needed a battery. I asked why they didn't read the trouble code on an OBD (I.e., DTC). Well, he said, they got code P1681 but the code didn't tell them how to fix it, only what was wrong. BTW, P1681 is not a valid Mazda code but B1681 (not "P") is valid - another LeFebvre bumble! B1681 says, "No detected communication with the coil antenna." If they would've noticed it was a B code instead of a P, it might not have taken them SIX HOURS. I asked if they noticed a blinking security light and was told it never blinked. Right.... Anyway, they provided a bill and here is the breakdown: Labor - $315 for fob key diagnoses $20 to change oil $35 for the failed inspection $45 fog light repair Parts - $7 for new fob battery $50 for 5 quarts of SYNTHETIC OIL $5 for a new oil filter When I saw this, I asked why the oil change was $70 instead of the $40 they had just quoted. Oh, they said, they'd made a mistake. They realized (after we hung up) that the car actually takes synthetic oil. (That's not true -- the owner's manual specs regular 5W -20 oil.) I asked about $45 for the fog light. Huh? They installed a new bulb! I protested that because we'd never discussed a fog light, so they removed the charge. I paid and took the car home (5 miles away) to clean the headlights. While cleaning I noticed the right fog light was bright white and the left one had a duller, yellowish bulb. On closer inspection, I saw the bright light's lens was cracked. So when I took the car back, I asked which fog light they fixed. The kid at the front desk looked (I had the lights on now) and said it was the right one because it was whiter and brighter. I agreed but then he realized the lens was cracked and said, Oh no, we fixed the left light because the lens is broken on the right. What?? He went back in the shop to ask and came back and said Yep, we fixed the left one. Really?? You're now saying you put a new bulb on the left, yellowish, dull light side? Yep. Then he said they couldn't finish the inspection right then because that guy was busy on another job. Too bad I didn't call first. I asked how long he'd be busy, thinking maybe I'd come back. This kid, who had just LIED to me about the light and oil change, sat there, idly leafing through a magazine and said, I dunno... So I opened the door to the shop and yelled, Hey, when can you look at my headlights?? The kid is like ma'am, ma'am, you can't do that. I could leave that freakin, rip-off place fast enough. Later on, when I looked at my AMEX RECEIPT, I REALIZED THAT INSTEAD OF CHARGING MY CARD $432, THEY CHARGED IT $477. It looks like after agreeing to remove the $45 for installing one stinking bulb, they charged for it anyway! And cracked my lens to boot! These guys are bad machines! Even before I realized they had overcharged me, I signed the receipt "under protest" because I believe they are freakin' thieves, incompetent or both. These guys claim 1) it took 6.5 hours to figure out my fob battery was dead (which, if actually true, screams of incompetence), 2) they claim they did not break the lens when replacing the bulb (total BS) and 3) that the car requires synthetic oil and doubled the price for the oil change. Then they charged even more than the final invoice!! Wow! I'm never going back there, not even to have them finish the inspection. I'll go someplace that's honest!!! Not only were they honest about my repair, but they took the time to explain exactly what needed to be taken care of. Last minute request 20 mins before they closed on a Saturday. My husband and I were used car shopping for our daughter and needed a pre-buy inspection. They were so professional and thorough. We received a checklist, electrical system performance printout, verbal results of manufacturers fault codes from cars computer, auto check report and a walk through of the faults, including assessment of repairs on the under carriage. Bravo Jack and team, they answered all our questions and shared their years of experience. $65 was a bargain for this service. read more

The most miserable and unprofessional douche I've ever come across, I call the guy, tells me to hold and then he picks up another phone and I sit there for about 10-12 minutes listening to him scream, swear, berate and threaten to sue someone on another phone. He isn't even smart enough to actually place someone on hold never mind work on your vehicle. I asked around and was told he spends as much time in court suing and being sued as he does screwing his customers. I wanted to give less than 1 star but it won't let you. read more

On a Friday AM took the car into the dealer for a state inspection. Not expecting any issues. Well, emissions test could not be done because the sensors were "not ready". Ok, the car hadn't been driven overnight, with only a short drive to the dealer first thing AM. Car's also a hybrid, I don't think the gas engine ran much, or at all, getting there, so the sensors may not have been warmed up and ready... Was advised to drive it around over the weekend and bring it back Tuesday. Tuesday. What can you do? Drove it around rest of Friday, and Sat AM brought it into Lefebvre's. Just before bringing it in, the Check Engine light comes on. Huh? Did some web searching, found that the "Capless" design of the gas fill often has dirt/leak issues that show up as CE light. Lefebvre's was right onto that too. Checked the CE codes, cleaned out the gas fill, advised to drive it around a bit and come back in a few hours. A few hours. Not Tuesday. A few hours later, with the CE light still off, it passed inspection. Thanks Lefebvre's! Liked the fact that my online search for info wasn't viewed as a problem, and that you were able to deal with the real problem easily, with a "we're all in this together" 'tude. read more

If you ever need your car repaired don't hesitate to bring it to Lefebvre's. They have been in Londonderry for years and they always stand by their work. My girlfriend and I were driving on the highway when we were rear ended, resulting in a flat tire and a misshapen wheel. We stopped at Lefebvres's to assess the damage and make sure it was safe to continue driving. Even though it was only 15 minutes until closing, Terry was polite, kind and helpful towards us. We were only looking for a diagnosis and some advice, but he and his crew took it upon themselves to zip tie the loose bumpers and fenders, clean up the paint smudges, and attempt to reshape the warped rim. Although the wheel was beyond fixing, it speaks volumes that they were willing to work after hours on such short notice. read more

Really good people here. Both times I've taken my car here for service they've been very helpful and really nice.

So my insurance company contacted these guys when I needed roadside assistance. They claimed they would arrive to assist within an hour. An hour and a half comes and goes while I'm left out in the rain waiting, insurance calls me to confirm whether or not the tow has arrived. They call Lefebvre's trying to find out where the tow driver is, and they proceed to get cursed out "Tell the customer to go F#ck themselves" ... what a professional and well run business. Given my, and other experiences with these people I would seriously recommend looking elsewhere. If your insurance company schedules these guys to pick you up, request they contact someone else! read more

I've been using Lefebvre's for more than twenty years. I'm disappointed that they are no longer affiliated with AAA for car transport, but their vehicle service has been fantastic, as has the support I've gotten in emergency circumstances. My best example of this support happened some years ago, when my wife's car threw a rod just north of New York City. Jack got one of their drivers down there, got the car back, found a replacement engine for it, and kept the charges to us to an absolute minimum. I used to go here for years. They would charge me a lot and say they fixed my car and never actually fix it. The mechanic was really lazy. One time he told me I could just go home and fix the lights on the car myself because he didn't want to do it and could barely fit beneath the car. He charged me to get my belts tightened all the time and didn't tighten them then blamed it on the winter months which it was not. I started going to Jeff's Lex in Derry and he tightened my belts for free on my car and said it took him 2 secs. He's also really friendly and the prices are cheap. Don't waste your time at this place. I went here various times with different vehicles to fix for family members with a similiar experience each. The previous owner is apparently in jail now for embezzling. The review response from the business itself definitely wouldn't make me give this place another shot or feel like they care. I think you can learn a lot from a business by how they handle negative reviews. I think it's concerning that business is slow enough that they have time to dig through past personal records based off of a screen name on yelp. This is my honest opinion. read more

New to Londonderry and was looking for a reliable place and this is definitely not the place. Had them do a few jobs which seemed overpriced to begin with. Recently brought my car there for inspection and they failed it and was told it needed an 800$ suspension job. Brought it to another mechanic who passed it and told me they were trying to rip me off. Just had my car towed from Raymond NH to Exeter NH. Spoke to driver,think his name is Ryan told me he was in Derry NH, 13 miles away. Would cost additional $70.00 more than the $100.00 our towing pays. Only cash or check. 2 hours later had my car on the truck and charges $360.00. Said he was dispatched out of Mass so instead of 13 miles from Derry, is charging for 40. Took the $135.00 cash we had. Wants me to file claim with my insurance company for the rest to pay him another $125.00. Have Liberty Mutual. Says he will know if and when we are paid. On the phone with roadside assistance, Liberty Mutual, and Monday morning, the Better Business, Bureau. Wish we could rate zero stars!! read more
