The lead mechanic told me that it was my car that was causing the new rotor they put on to chatter like my tire was going to fall off. He told me the only way to fix it was to turn the rotor while it was still on the car but there lathe was broken. He eventually admitted that he did not want to warranty the warped rotor that he just put on my car and wanted me to just drive it until their lathe was fixed - in about 2 weeks. Vulc-Tech failed an inspection on my vehicle and then insisted I needed rotors/pads both front and rear at $860 (fairly high for pads and rotors for a Mazda). I knew the fronts were only recommendable and had already replaced both the rear pads and rotors recently. Took the car to another shop and they passed the car after I choose to do the fronts even though they said I could pass without it. Needless to say, wont be headed back here. read more

I had my RAM pickup always inspected at Vul-tech. I had asked them previously for a quote on Michelin tires, and they could not compete with Costco price. But they remembered my not buying tires from them. When I asked for an inspection and tire rotation, they informed me that the lug nuts were damaged and they could not reinstall them (all 16 lugs in the front) Anyone who knows about lug nuts knows that you cannot damage the inside of the thread ends taking them off. They were severely peened over which only can happen after they come off. Give me a break! We can get you new ones in an hour... was the story, but they neglected to tell me the price.... WOW! $18 apiece x 16.... I should have told them I would call the dealership and pick them up myself. But, anyway, the point I would like to make is that you cannot damage the inside thread of a lug nut on the end until after it is off. I feel this was retribution for not buying tires from them, and the lug nuts had to be damaged on purpose when they were off. Cheat me once, shame on you... Cheat me twice, shame on me.... Extremely disappointed with their service. I went to Vulc-Tech in November 2018 to have my alternator replaced; although I was the first person in the waiting room to begin service, it took over 3 hours to finish the alternator replacement and by the time it was finished everyone in the waiting room who entered after me had finished their repairs and left. As I was checking out, the man at the desk apologized for the wait and said that it simply took much longer than usual because it was difficult for them to get to the alternator. About a week later several parts that were mounted to the engine bracket of my vehicle snapped off, including the serpentine belt and pulleys, and my car was inoperable. I had my personal repairman document the damages, and it turns out the technician at Vulc-Tech removed several of the parts that were mounted to my engine bracket in order to access the alternator more easily. They failed to mount them back on correctly, and so tension built up and the parts snapped off the engine bracket, leaving shattered bolts and pieces of metal loose under the hood. I won't disclose the specific financials, but this was the most expensive repair I've had to date. It took my personal mechanic many hours to dissemble everything, find a new engine bracket that isn't even manufactured anymore, and reassemble everything again. I don't mean to insult or target the professional technicians at VulcTech; I am sure they do a lot of good things and I likely just got a bad technician. I am writing this only to tell others what happened to me and hope that it doesn't also happen to them. I am not a mechanic, but I have been told by local mechanics that an alternator replacement should take 90 minutes at the most and should never result in this much damage. This negative review also doesn't mean that I am angry with Vulc-Tech or think they are bad people I am currently pursuing reparations with Vulc-Tech and their insurance company to cover the damages caused to my vehicle, and I will update this review if they kindly comply with my request to cover the damages, because although the damage to my vehicle was significant, I think they deserve credit for fixing the problem if they choose to do so. read more

My father went here to get the rotors and pads replaced. They did a shotty job on them.The car would shake whenever the brakes where applied I don't drive the car so I had no idea just how bad a job they did. When he asked them what was going on they told him the brakes where settling in. This went on for a month and the vibrations did not go away and noticed the condition of the van when I borrowed it one day. I told my dad they where not right and they need to take another look at it. My dad went to Vulc tech again. They told him that they did not have any records of doing a brake job on our van. Now my dad might not know much about cars but he does save his receipts. He showed them the receipt of the work done. They told him they cannot fix it because too much time had elapsed, We ended up going to mineke down the street and they fixed it. They said while the parts looked new the install was done incorrectly. These guys at Vulc tech are paid top dollar(because the labor is expensive) to install parts incorrectly!! Had been going here for years, but finally decided to move on. Prices are about the same as repairs done at the dealers but I always thought that they were honest and not overcharging. However, I got sick of always hearing about 'recommended' additional repairs that they suggested . On more than one occasion the repairs -which I didn't do-turned out not to be required at all! Have to say I have heard many horror stories about this place, went for sticker and got failed all the time, last time was rear brake disc that weren't that worn, I took it home and put new ones in just to get a sticker, they were not needed, I have done many pads and disc. My neighbor just brought his 2013, which is still in new shape for a sticker and they start saying he needs 4 new tires and brake rotors etc.... I'm mean really , the thing is a year and a half old! Encountered the rudest service here than I've ever had the misfortune of encountering anywhere. As a result, my husband and I absolutely will not return to this establishment for service on any of our vehicles, My previous and completely honest complaint about this on another review forum was met with denials on the site by the Vulc-Tech owner. Apparently, the customer is not always or maybe EVER right. Because of his proclivity for such angry rebuttals I will not go into further details as I do not want to be victimized again. An apology was definitely in order but I never received it. Quite the opposite, in fact. Our Van failed inspection for brakes and for a rear chassis bolt. The brakes we figured, the chassis bolt was a surprise. A broken chassis bolt is not a common repair. Naturally we called the dealer to have it looked at and to see if it was still covered under warranty. It was not. The dealer gave us a quote of $500 minimum just for labor, and it would take between 3 to 6 hours to complete. No beuno. We called around and Vul-Tech said we could bring it in and they would look at. They gave us a quote of $310 including the part and 3 hours (4 if something went horribly wrong). Much better. Just got the call that the van is all set, and at $280. So less than the quote. The mechanics at Vul-Tech are all very nice. I think we will be bringing the van here again if and when it needs major repairs. Hopefully that's not for a while though. :) read more

I wish I could give 0 stars. I took my car in for service to fix an exhaust problem. In addition to that, they fixed the tire pressure sensors on my car's computer. Several miles down the road, I noticed my Cruise Control was not working (I use it all the time and it randomly stops working after taking my car to their shop??!!) At a later date, I brought my car in again for service as well as ask them to fix the cruise control they broke. They refused saying they didn't do it. They are crooks. They broke it and deny it. We tried to talk to them but they flat out refused. We have spent thousands at this place. They will try to screw you over and break something on your car to get you to pay more. So today was one of those days where I appreciate my small town mechanic. (Vulc Tech in Hudson, NH) I had some expensive work done about two weeks ago which included a State Inspection. Well in the process of getting all the labor and work completed they forgot to change the sticker on my windshield. When my wife got pulled over today and tried to explain to the cop that the car was in fact inspected but they failed to put the sticker on the car, she still got the ticket. I went to my mechanic and told them the situation to which they apologized and agreed to take care of it right away. They finished in about 10 minutes and when giving me my keys back they also ave me a $50 Visa gift card for the inconvenience and an assurance that if the police didn't remove the ticket (as the very nice op said they would do) Vulc Tech would pay for that too. I love small business! See is why I've have been and will stay loyal to Vulc Tech. They've always provided great service and top notch expertise. read more

I always have had the feelig when dealing with them on their inspection special that they will try their darndest to fail you. Bad shock absorbers? rusted emergency brake cable. Worn tire. They may be technically correct, but they are developing this failure mentality so you don't leave the shop while they have you. I've been going to Vulc Tech for over 10 years. I have only positive things to say. Fair prices and even a courtesy shuttle to wherever you need to go while they work on your car. I tried the "muffler store" down the street for a brake issue. They suggested a full brake job. I was suspicious so I took it to Vulc Tech and they said it only needed brake fluid! I trust them like I've never trusted a repair shop. They keep a history of your repairs and will make good if anything goes wrong. Love the new shop. These guys are humans like the rest of us. With that said they have made mistakes on my cars but have always done what is needed to resolve the issue. One example is not torquing down the lug nuts properly on my nieces SUV. The wheel loosened up and screwed up the lugs and brake drum. They covered all the expenses and now list that you should come back for re-tightening of the lug nuts after a few days. These are my go to guys for most items because I get a straight answer.
