Dan, the customer service representative (CRS) I called was very accommodating to my request for my last minute NH state inspection at 11am on June 23, 2025 after returning from City of Manchester, Tax collector division saying I must get my NH state inspection completed by July 10, 2025 due date. I googled search this morning and I discovered for those in the future this year 2025 who needs to renew your NH state inspection go here. They are the lowest for NH state inspection around town as other places I called charged up to $60 bucks or are dishonest about their fee like Adams Auto Care when the lady told me it's $49.95 but I stated I saw online their advertisement for $29.95. She stated you must mention that to get that promotion rate which it didn't say that. Anyway, I wanted to share my fabulous and outstanding customer service phone skills as well in person skills Dan who portray exceptional professionalism. I waited for my car less than 1/2 wait time in their customer waiting lounge as they offer free wi-fi plus refreshments if you need them. Dan didn't rush on collecting my $14.95 NH state inspection right away until my car service was rendered and completed for the payment. I paid cash but I overheard Dan informing another patron if you pay with your credit card there will be a 3% transaction fee added on top of the invoice bill. Therefore, Dan fully communicated with his patrons which is what I really appreciate when going to get your car service. Kudos to Dan for professionally representing Extra Care Auto Repair. They exceeded my customer expectations here. Anyone reading my review here, I highly recommend this location compared to Manchester location for your car service needs. read more

The Manchester location is amazing! Justine is so personable and has made sure I am completely taken care of every time. I came to this shop originally because I heard from other people that the technicians were extremely kind and they gave me a very competitive quote when I called about some work I needed done. After I brought my car in, they were honest with me that the work that was recommended to me was actually unnecessary when they could've easily charged me and just done the work. After bring in my truck for repairs, I was told it was going to cost me $4,000 give or take. Ok, I knew it was in bad shape and was willing to pay to get it going right. they did the work and put an inspection sticker on it. The truck still ran like shit but I chalked that up to its age and mileage. However the very next year i went to get it inspected again at a different garage, and was told that many of the things that I paid thousands of dollars to have replaced the year before had not been replaced at all! For example I had the upper and lower ball joints on both sides "replaced" at Extra Care Auto. Not so. All four ball joints failed inspection only one year later and I was told they had clearly not been replaced in many years. Its not clear what work they actually did, if any at all. AS IF THAT IS NOT BAD ENOUGH, that is not the only horror story I have to share since finding out what a bunch of crooks this place is filled with. After having my truck "worked on", but before finding out they had totally ripped me off, I brought them my Audi A6 with a bad air pressure sensor in one tire and a window that wouldn't roll up or down. I left it there for several days, and finally they called me and told me the prognosis. They "replaced" the tire pressure sensor and unfortunately the window motor needed to be replaced and then recalibrated by an authorized Audi mechanic, which conveniently they were, apparently. Total cost? $3,000. This time however I suspected they were full of shit so I paid for the tire pressure sensor work ($300+) and decided to get into the door panel myself and see what was going on. Like I said I had suspected that they were corrupt but I was none the less surprised to find that the so called bad window motor was fine and all it needed was a new $20 steel cable!!! The cherry on top, being that the air pressure sensor light came back on hours after paying them over $300 and leaving their shop. THIS PLACE IS FULL OF PIRATES WHO WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU EVERY CHANCE THEY GET. I would recommend never bringing your vehicle here. I got ripped off for thousands of dollars. Pro: The receptionist is very nice. Con: THEY ROBBED ME. I went in for an inspection sticker. They said my car needed a few minor repairs to pass. Fine, whatever. After bringing my car in for repairs, they gave me a clear inspection sticker because they couldn't figure out why the "check engine" light was still on. I was told to drive 200 miles then bring it back to them to see what's the problem. I went out for a drive the next day and my engine was shaking hard, while the check engine light was blinking. My car NEVER did this before I brought it to them. My car is now in worse condition than it was before they "repaired" it. I understand what their scam is now. They lure you in with the 14.95 inspection stickers, they make minimal repairs to get a quick buck from you, and they damage your car more to make you come back. I'll be bringing my car to a more reputable mechanic from now on. If you are reading this, AVOID EXTRA CARE AUTO "REPAIR"! read more

I brought my car to their Manchester location, located on the Massabesic Circle. UNBELIEVABLE service! Richard, the owner, prides himself on customer education, he doesn't play games and he fixed an issue we attempted to have fixed 2-3 times and $$$ with another mechanic. We needed a total of about $800 worth of work done and I didn't feel once that we were taken advantage of or that the wool was being pulled over our eyes. I highly recommend their shop! He understands no one wants to pay for car repairs...but its a necessary evil at some point if you're holding on to a vehicle 5, 6, 7, 8, 10...years old. read more

I took my vehicle in for a state inspection this morning. It is a 2014 with about 38,000 miles and had no known issues. After the shop drove the vehicle and then put it on the lift, the radiator hose broke and spilled antifreeze in the shop. They told me that it would cost $203 for the repair. I asked him why I should have to pay for it when it happened on their lift and he said it must have been a coincidence. I explained to him that there was no leak prior to the vehicle going into the shop as there was no antifreeze in their parking lot. I even tried to negotiate with the gentleman and asked him to do the job at cost so we would both split the burden. He told me that would not happen and I had to pay full price. I got the same answer after I talked directly to the owner. I had the vehicle towed to another shop and repaired. read more

The guy at the desk was fine. Though they did not offer to show or explain to me why I needed my brakes changed at the time when I was quoted, which would have been considerate. Yes, I could have taken the initiative myself and asked why, but I was a little taken aback by the price they quoted me for. So, I didn't bother and started shopping around. Be wary of the cheap inspection. They have quoted me uncompetitive pricing (which they would not negotiate relative to competitors' pricing) on brakes that probably had at least 3-5 thousand miles left on them despite being failed at inspection. Perhaps they wanted them changed since being roughly close to being needed to be changed. Though, my brakes should have passed according to two different mechanics I checked with afterwards. At the very least, shop around and get different opinions when they fail your inspection. Better to go elsewhere I suspect. Also, the reinspection cost is more expensive than the initial inspection, which many other places offer for free. read more

The receptionist is very nice. Didn't meet the mechanic. I was told 500 for two O2 sensors. Sounded expensive. Brought it to autozone because a friend told me to. It read out one bad O2 sensor and a bad gas cap (evap). Its being fixed now for a grand total of 61 bucks. I see the catch. Cheap inspection cheap maintenance. Such a great scam. Will not be back. Thanks for greasing my door. I really thought I found a trustworthy mechanic. I hate leaving bad reviews but others should know. read more

I am relatively new to NH but very accustom to state auto inspections in fact I use to do them when I lived in PA years ago. Last year (Jan 2019) when I took my 2014 Jeep in for inspection they said my rear brakes needed changed soon! Well I didn't get around to it replacing my brakes until late December 2019 and they were at 4mm ok but close to needing replacement 15,000 +/- miles later! So January 2020 rolls around and with new brakes new tires and a vehicle I am fastidious about keeping in prime shape they failed my ball joints.. Which had just been replaced a couple years ago!! So I too k it to the dealer for an extended warranty repair (a dealership had replaced them previously) and the reported the ball joints were within specification! So I took my Jeep back to Extra Auto Care to get my sticker. There i was told that the tool they need to measure was at their other shop.. I watched the mechanic inspect my car the first time and even looked under the car with him while he used a crow bar to check them and show me so IMO he did not use any such tool but said he did when confronted.. I call BS I'm not sure but their $15.95 inspection seems to be a loss leader to find other work and in my case unneeded work .. Great establishment to take your vehicle to if you ever have any problems. I had recently brought in my truck for a state inspection and oil change. Although I need a decent amount of work ($750) to pass inspection I felt that the owner (Richard) was very fair and explained all the work that needed to be completed and why. I had accidentally put washer fluid in coolant. Drove right over to Manchester location and because thermostat did not turn on, the mechanic pumped out the fluid then refilled my coolant saving me from potential disaster, then they said "no charge." Went in for an inspection and was told that I had to much rust on bumper. They wanted over 400 bucks to add a part from a junk yard. I paid the $14 bucks for the inspection, drove to another inspection station and it passed with flying colors. I'm not a mechanic and I dont know, but it seems shady to me. Ya I got fooled by the $14.95 inspection to. Brought my car in for inspection and I got the "everything passes except" I don't have the tool for checking the rear tint. Well if you don't have the proper tools you probably shouldn't be doing inspections. So all he had to do was tell me he couldn't inspect it, instead they charge me for the inspection (fail/pass) and of course now it's in the NH computer as a fail so I can't go anywhere else without getting charged again. So I go home and remove the tint and he charges me again for what he called the reinspect. I don't think I will be returning here. Now I see all the single star reviews, should of checked yelp first. The place will probably be named something else the next time I need an inspection anyways. read more
