    Arianna reading chapter book
    Carletta L.

Where do I start. Our daughter Arianna started Legacy when she was almost 4 years old. (our daughter has been in this school for roughly a year and half) She wasn't fully speaking in sentences just single words. The reason we had switched her is I knew she needed to be in an aggressive learning environment in which she could thrive and learn from other children. And wow! The school delivered more than I ever expected. Mrs. Katie the director knows so much about every child and how they are growing and developing in her program. My daughter's teachers Mrs. Beverly, Ms. Alice and now Mrs. Priscilla, have done such an amazing job with our daughter. Our daughter has such a strong personality and a willed spirit but the teachers set clear boundaries and even Mrs. Katie helped us implement some of the techniques that were used in the classroom we implemented at home to help our daughter with some of her behavioral struggles. Our daughter has made such strides and improvements since starting Legacy, she is now fully reading chapter books, doing double digit math and working independently. Our goal for her this year in kindergarten, is to continue improving in her studies and work hard with developing her penmanship and improve more in her math. We were overwhelmed when we toured the campus because there were children who were 3/4 and 5 years old doing math at a level of 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders. In our minds we felt the school was to advanced and our child was way behind her peers. However, Mrs.Katie is right, they work with each child at the place where they are and help develop them individually. They don't pressure nor do they put unrealistic expectations on your child. Trust when I tell you, your child will rise to the occasion an surprise you! if you stick with the school and work in the areas at home where your child needs additional improvement they will be doing and working at the same levels the other children are working at in no time. Consistency and patience is key. Listen to the teachers, ask questions through the procare app which the teachers will respond fairly quickly if you have any questions and or concerns. During progess report time, not only are these teachers accessing your child academically, but they are also assessing your child mentally on areas like age appropriate growth and development. The reports are extremely detailed and let's you know which areas you can help your child to continue to grow in. I have never In all my years of having my son in school ( i.e. college prep school), whom is now 24, accessed in the way this school have accessed Arianna which is a very good thing. These teachers care tremendously about each and every student and they definitely prayed over our child. Our child is a completely different person than when she started. Don't be intimidated, give your child the best academic foundation for their future. I'm so blessed that Mrs. Katie and her teachers had the patience and love to work with our daughter and us to make her a better student and a more rounded out loving child.

After seeing the full cycle from K-5 I can confidently say this school is terrific. My biggest fear was that because I don't speak Spanish that I would struggle to help my children but the interesting part is that my kids picked up Spanish quickly enough that they were able to translate the homework for me so I could help them with Math, Social Studies, etc. And with web tools like Google translate I can check their vocabulary pretty easily. If having a 2nd language is important to you (or just having a rock solid elementary school) then I highly recommend this school. I had to transfer my kids to this school since we live outside their boundaries and it has been worth the extra miles back and forth. I have also been there through 2 different principals / leadership teams and although they are different from each other in many ways their commitment to the children and the program is remarkable and felt through every part of the school. No, it is not a magical place with rainbows and unicorns all the time, it is a real school with real students and real teachers and the challenges that go along with elementary school but the focus is always on teaching and preparing children. The bonus: The on-campus ESS program - Love! Love! Love! their leader and team. They give me complete comfort that my children are cared for and their management of the children after school and during summer break is wonderful. They are well organized and good communicators and help with homework as well.

I wanted to take a moment to share my experience as the parent of child at the school. There is an application, and parents truck their kids in from all over to get their children involved in the school. It is amazing. There is a traditional track that struggles now and then with test scores, but the immersion program is like a little private school tucked inside a public school. The kids are accepted in Kindergarten, and stay with the same group of students all the way through 5th grade. The best part is these students are fluent in Spanish, and can move on with a special skill.

My Room to Grow - A Truly Wonderful School…read more We absolutely love My Room to Grow! Our son, Tristan, started in the Peach Room and is now in TK, and the experience has been nothing short of amazing. From the very beginning, the warmth, dedication, and experience of the teachers have been evident. Not only in how they care for the children, but in how long many of them have been with the school. That kind of consistency speaks volumes about the culture My Room to Grow has built. The teachers here are incredible. Every single one we have met has gone above and beyond to help Tristan learn, grow, and thrive. Carina and Kathy, in particular, have shown such patience, care, and creativity in supporting his development. And Principal Meghan is so thoughtful and engaged, she genuinely knows and cares about every child and family. We have seen tremendous progress in Tristan in just a year and a half, and we are so grateful for the loving environment that has helped him flourish. In fact, we chose to keep him here another year, even though he qualified for Universal TK through Poway Unified, because we simply couldn't imagine a better place for him to continue learning and growing. Our only regret is not finding My Room to Grow sooner! It's such a comfort to know that while I am at work, Tristan is in the hands of people who truly care for him and want the best for him. We feel so lucky to be part of this wonderful community. -- Update: I also wanted to share that my son is diagnosed with ADHD and is on the autism spectrum (verbal and high-functioning). While My Room to Grow isn't a special needs school, they truly go above and beyond to see if they can make accommodations to support each child's individual needs. What was especially helpful when we were considering enrolling Tristan was that they allowed him to visit the school ahead of time to make sure the environment and teachers were the right fit. The staff genuinely care and are willing to collaborate with our Behavioral and Developmental OT therapists to ensure strategies are reinforced consistently at school. I can't express enough gratitude for the compassion, patience, and dedication of every teacher at My Room to Grow. They have made such a difference in Tristan's growth and confidence.
